***BRAYAN IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN THE VANCOUVER B.C. AREA*** Meet Brayan, your soul dog with a lot of love to give… Male I Labrador Mix I 88lbs I 4-5 yrs I neutered, UTD on shots Good with all people and calm dogs that he is slowly introduced to. Rescued from Mexico, currently looking for a home in Vancouver, BC. Background: Brayan was rescued from a highway in Mexico, where he was found running, disoriented, and scared. A kind commuter picked him up in their car, which he happily jumped into, knowing he was in good hands. Brayan was brought to the DogGo project in Puebla, Mexico where he happily lived for two years before being flown to Canada in June of 2024. He went into a foster-to-adopt (FTA) home in Ontario, and they relocated to Vancouver, BC. Brayan ended up not fitting into their lifestyle, and he is now looking for his forever home. Personality: Brayan is a people dog through and through. He loves spending quiet time at home with his FTA family or having social time when they have friends over. He is also incredibly loving and will always give new friends his paw to hold or roll over so that they can scratch his belly. Brayan has low to medium energy, and a couple of longer walks usually tire him out for the whole day. He isn’t much of a runner or player but will run around the backyard with the neighbour’s dog when the mood strikes. Brayan is fine being left at home during the day uncrated, he has never been destructive or had any kind of accident in the house. He’s happy to snooze on the couch and patiently wait for his foster family to return. Brayan loves to be outside and can walk well on the leash with a prong collar/e-collar. However, he needs lots of space on these walks from other dogs and people passing by to stay calm. He thrives in calm environments inside and outside the home and needs others to respect his personal space. Ideal Home: Brayan would be a great solo dog but would also be able to live with another calm dog who gives him his space. Brayan loves to be with his people, so a home with at least one family member often home with him would make him very happy. He is completely fine being left at home for periods of time and will quietly keep to himself. A yard would be ideal for Brayan to have calm outdoor time, or a home in a more rural area with quieter places to go on walks with his new family. Due to his leash reactivity, Brayan is looking for a strong leader and experienced owners who will continue to help him manage this so that he can thrive. Training / Activity: Brayan is very smart and picks up quickly on any new training. He has never had an accident in the home and has never been destructive when left alone. He knows ‘sit,’ ‘stay,’ ‘leave it,’ ‘heel’, and ‘come.’ His recall is okay, but it is still a work in progress. He responds well to leash pressure with his prong collar and cues from his e-collar while walking. Brayan has some leash reactivity and feels much more comfortable when given plenty of space from people and other dogs during his walks. In the past, he has lunged and attempted to bite when feeling overwhelmed, latching onto clothing without causing any harm. To help him feel secure, we recommend using a muzzle in busy areas while he continues to work on his confidence. Brayan is looking for a patient and committed family who will support him with positive reinforcement and training, helping him feel more relaxed and secure on his walks. Summary Brayan is a beautiful soul with a lot of love to give to everyone he meets. His temperament makes it easy for him to love back. With the right environment and some ongoing training for his reactivity, he will easily settle into being your new furry family member. CYRUS | 9 months old | 36 - 40 pounds | Neutered and healthy | Toronto Have you been looking for a cuddler? Do you feel like a lap is empty if it's not full of dog? Do you enjoy enthusiastic kisses that smell faintly of kibble? Are you comforted by a soft furry head nuzzling under between your shoulder and your chin? Good news: we have your dog. His name is Cyrus and he's just a baby. He is so full of affection and lives to snuggle. He would thrive with one-on-one attention since he loves to be the apple of your eye. Cyrus is still very much a puppy. He loves to chase and wrestle other dogs, loves chewing his Benebone, and thinks running after balls and toys is the most fun in the world. He'll need guidance and boundaries like any puppy, but he is easily redirected and guided. He will need outlets for his puppy energy, but when playtime is over, all he wants is to be close to his person and bask in their love. We think he'd do well in a single person home or with a larger family. He'd be great as a solo dog, but could also fit in to a pack. Don't leave this gorgeous boy hanging! KAMUT | 4 months | Currently 10 lb | Healthy and sweet | Toronto Puppy alert!!! My name is Kamut and I'm a little guy in a big world. Despite being just a baby, I've managed to pick up quite a few things like housetraining and leash walking, both of which I'm VERY good at. Learning is fun, but what I most love is to play. I especially like toys that make funny noises and I live to play fetch. I'm pretty excited when I play, but except for my noisy toys and yipping with joy once in awhile, I'm a quiet guy. I love other dogs and would be happy to be adopted to a home with a dog sibling, but I'd also be happy to be the only dog (all the more love and affection for me to soak up myself)! My fosters say that I am very joyful and very sweet. If you look into my deep brown eyes, I think you can see what a good boy I am and what an awesome dog I'll grow up to be. I think you should consider bringing me home if you're looking for some puppy love, and a lot more fun and joy in your life. I hope you'll consider me to be your new family member. I promise that to know me is to love me! Apply at https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application

Brent | 3 - 5 years old | 36 lb | Gentle and quiet | Toronto Brent was absolutely adored at the shelter he came from, and it's very easy to see why. Brent is quiet, gentle and loving. He's got medium energy and a real go-with-the-flow attitude. He's calm and looks to his people for reassurance when new things frighten him. He's still getting used to new sounds like cars going by, but his confidence is growing daily with encouragement from his foster. Brent really loves people, and he likes to be cuddled and spoken to sweetly. He is sweet to everyone including men, women, and children, and does really well with guests coming into the house. He has the cutest character quirks like crossing his legs when he's relaxing and hoarding toys.. Brent would likely thrive in a house in a quieter area, or at least with access to quieter walks as he gets used to the sounds of city life. He would be fine as an only dog or joining a dog sibling. Brent is the sweetest, chillest guy, who just wants to enjoy all the comforts of a home of his own after the hustle bustle of shelter life. For Brent, this means a peaceful household, soft places to sleep, toys just for him, relaxing walks, and lots of affection. If you think you can offer Brent the good life, please apply here: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application

Story
Ideal home: Jake will do best in a calm home where his people are home more often than not. Someone who will play with him and allow him to have his zoomies but who is patient and willing to work with him. He would do best in a detached home or townhouse as he does still have some leash reactivity to dogs. He is quite a social dog with people and he could do well in a home with older children. He would likely do best as the only dog in the home, but gets along well with calm dogs. Personality: Jake is very sweet and loving. He is very gentle when taking treats and is generally well behaved. He's got a great personality once comfortable and wants to play with his humans and likes to race around with zoomies. He is not a big fan of playing with other dogs and he seems to prefer people, but he mostly gets along well with other dogs given proper introductions. He is a big fan of checking in on you by coming up and giving you a nose boop. He is very loving and very good when someone is sick he knows and is always checking. He is very sensitive to the feelings of his humans. He definitely needs someone who can give him lots of love because you can tell he missed out on it as a pup. Once he is comfortable, he likes to play with his toys and walk and be silly. He has a silly side for sure. Good with dogs: Jake was previously fostered with two other dogs and seems to be dog selective. He got along well with one from the start, but Jake and the other dog had a love/hate relationship. When he was in boarding, he got along well with the other dogs. On leash, he is reactive to other dogs and this is a work in progress. Good with cats: Unknown. He does not have high prey drive, so could be okay with a dog-savvy cat. Good with kids (+ ages): 10+ Good with strangers: He is fine with people and hasn't been reactive. He may be uncertain around strangers in the home, but will generally keep his space and then approach them to see that they are okay. Guarding issues: Very minor with his food, only with the other dogs in the home. Behavioural issues: Jake was under socialized and untrained in his past home, he will need to continue working on his socialization and confidence. In his previous home, his behaviour went unchecked and eventually escalated, resulting in a bite to a visitor in the home. Since returning to our care in July 2023, he has been completely fine and sweet with people. House trained: Yes Crate trained: He gets very anxious and loud when crated. He is much better suited to being left out and doesn't get into anything and is not destructive. Separation anxiety: None seen Destructive: Only when crated Leash skills: Jake is generally great on walks. He will react if he sees other dogs and bark, but responds well to correction. He loves his walks. Okay with manipulations: He is fine with all touching, loves to be cuddled. He loves to be close to his people and is a great couch buddy. Medical issues: None Jake is fostered in Mississauaga

Meet Rudolph, a sweet 7-month-old puppy with a heartwarming story. Despite his rough start in life, Rudolph has shown incredible resilience and charm. He was found in Northern Ontario and taken in by a partner rescue, which saved his life. Everyone is amazed at how he managed to survive on his own for so long. Rudolph is expected to be 60 pounds or less when fully grown. He has a beautiful brindle coat. He is housebroken, quiet, and crate trained, making him a well-behaved companion. He has his moments of intense play then long stretches of sleepy calm which is great for his foster mom. He has an unusual gait, but his skeletal scans show no abnormalities, so it doesn't affect his playful nature. Living with two large dogs, Rudolph gets along well with his furry friends and enjoys their company. He is also good with the kids in the home, although he tends to be more nervous around the adult male. Despite this, his gentle and loving personality shines through. Rudolph's journey is a testament to his strength and personality making him a wonderful addition to any family. He continues to impress everyone with his sweet and resilient spirit.  January 12, 2025, 9:17 am

Eros is available for Foster to Adopt! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** As a foster-to-adopt family, you will have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eros / Male / 2 years old / 60 lbs / Lab Cross / Good with Dogs / Untested with Children / No Cats Please / From Mexico / Fostered in Hamilton ** Follow Ero's adventures on Instagram @era_era_eros ** Welcome to the Eros Tour! This little god of love is active, full of life, and very ready to meet his forever family. Eros is a cuddle bug who is sweet, playful, and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. Eros has a big personality and a big heart. He is game for just about anything, whether it is heading out for a sniffy walk, pets and belly rubs, rolling and playing on the grass, or just chilling out on his bed. Eros is an active guy and loves walks and indoor enrichment like a snuffle mat or peanut butter kong. He is medium energy. When getting ready for his walks, Eros will give full body wiggles to show his enthusiasm. He loves to cuddle and has little respect for personal space (in a very cute and endearing way!). He likes to snuggle under your arm and give you hugs and kisses. He is an entertaining companion and sure to bring lots of laughs. Eros may take a moment to meet and warm up to new people but once he does he is nothing but loving and attentive. Eros currently gets two walks between 30-45 minutes each (shorter in winter), plus play time in the backyard, potty breaks, and indoor and outdoor enrichment such as treat puzzles, frozen lick mats, or foraging games. He can pull on leash when he finds something very interesting but can be redirected. He may react to other dogs he sees on leash by crying or barking but this has improved a lot over time. He is getting more comfortable meeting strangers in and out of the house but still appreciates slow introductions to new people. In the house, Eros wants to be close to his people. He has been left both in and out of the crate and he is not destructive, and will usually just curl up and sleep. He has been left for up to 8 hours without issue. Eros sleeps through the night on his bed in his fosters' room. Eros is working on basic training and knows sit, down, and is working on stay and recall (has not been tested off-leash). He is potty trained. His adoptive family will need to continue working on basic obedience with him. Eros previously lived with another dog and did well with him but sometimes he couldn't take a hint and got in the other dog's face. He really wants to play and can't always take cues from other dogs. He would likely do very well with a playful, patient dog who can tolerate his puppy antics and show him the ropes, but would also be fine as the only dog in the home. Eros hasn't been exposed to cats and is looking for a cat-free home. Eros' perfect family will be active and patient as he gets comfortable and builds his confidence. He would do great in a house with a backyard to run around and burn some energy. He would do well with older, dog-savvy kids (10+) but his enthusiastic style of play might be too much for smaller children. He needs a committed family who can work with him on basic obedience, and boosting his confidence. Eros has all the makings of an exceptional family pet and we can't wait for this very good boy to find his special family. Eros is a flight risk and our top priority in his furever home is safety. His forever family must take precautions to keep him safe and secure, including the purchase of a GPS tracker which will be required for adoption. If you're interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Eros' adoption has been sponsored by Fetch + Releash. Miss Martha's foster describes her as a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. Martha came to us from our partner rescue in Tennessee where she grew up with her littermates. She loves playing with her humans, chew toys, and puzzle games! Martha is a big softie and absolutely the sweetest and most gentle girl. She is a wonderful companion and will make a lucky family very happy. Martha likes following her foster around like a shadow and seeks comfort and reassurance from him. She also likes meeting people. She prefers to meet them outdoors and is a bit timid indoors when new people come into her space. While she hasn’t met any children, her sweet and gentle disposition lead us to believe that she would do well with dog-savvy children who are old enough to understand and respect her boundaries. Martha is still building confidence with loud noises and busy areas, so patience with training will be needed in helping her reach her potential. She is both curious and cautious when meeting new dogs. After a meeting or two, she warms up quickly and has made best friends with many of the dogs in her current neighborhood! Careful and measured introductions to other dogs will be helpful as she builds confidence and learns to play more with other dogs. We believe she would thrive with another dog in the home to boost her confidence and show her the ropes. Martha is working on getting her basics down. She is learning to walk on a leash, and pee outside. She sleeps on a bed next to her foster, and is trusted with free reign of the housel. This very good girl has been left alone up to 4 hours without issue. Martha is very food motivated and loves her food and treats. Combined with her strong desire to please her family, she will be easy to train. Now she is perfecting her recall and even learning to shake a paw! Martha enjoys enrichment activities such as games, puzzles, and learning new tricks which help her use energy while feeling safe in a familiar setting. Martha is potty trained. Martha's ideal home would be outside the busy city centre and have a fenced in yard for her to run around in. She would benefit from a patient family and a quiet home where she can feel secure and let her lovely personality shine. She bonds with people quickly, loves love, and would be happy living wherever her person is. Martha lived with another dog prior to coming into our care and would likely do well with a resident dog, and it may even help build her confidence. We would not recommend cats. Curly/ Male / Approximately 1 year / 60 lbs / Lab Mix / Good with Calm Dogs / Untested with Kids / Untested with Cats / From Tennessee/ Fostered in Etobicoke ** Follow Curly's journey on Instagram: @curly.thecutie ** Meet Curly! Curly is originally from Tennessee and was found in a field as a tiny newborn pup with his mom and siblings. He’s now being fostered in Etobicoke and is ready for his forever home. Curly's foster describes him as a happy dog who loves snuggles and affection, including full body hugs once he is comfortable. Curly loves attention and will remind you to keep petting him by putting a paw on your leg. Once he’s comfortable with you, he will even give you hugs. He is such a gentle boy and a wonderful companion. Curly is very friendly and affectionate with his trusted people but takes some time to warm up to new people, especially men. He takes cues from his foster and shows more comfort when she knows a person and trusts them. Once he is comfortable around someone, Curly wants very much to be best friends. He is very loving and affectionate. Curly loves going out on walks and getting lots of sniffs in. Curly currently gets several walks a day, as well as indoor enrichment activities such as his treat board, which he loves, and his ball. Curly is great in the house and is crated when left alone. He has been left in the crate for a few hours and waits quietly for his people to return. He sleeps through the night in his crate as well. Curly is working on basic training but is very food motivated and eager to learn. Curly is potty trained. Curly is a bit dog selective and prefers calm dogs who let him get comfortable before trying to play but he is very curious of other dogs and open to meeting them. We also believe this will improve as he gets more comfortable and confident. Curly would make a good second dog for a family with a well-adjusted dog who will give him space. Curly has not met any cats but we believe he could live with a dog-savvy cat as he is likely to keep to himself. Curly has not met any children and although he is generally very gentle, he may be overwhelmed by loud and active youngsters. We believe he could live with older, dog-savvy children who respect his space. Curly is truly a wonderful companion and will make a family willing to put in a bit of work very happy and proud. He is a special boy and is keen to find his forever family. Meet Frankie! ❤️🐾 Frankie is a lovable, energetic sweetheart who adores people and plays great with other dogs! His playful spirit and big heart make him the perfect companion for an active home filled with love, fun, and adventure. ❤Name: Frankie ❤Age: Estimated 2-3 years old ❤Gender: Male ❤Weight: 30kg (65 Lbs) ❤Breed: Golden Retriever ❤Vaccinations/Neutered: Completed 👉Personality & Temperament Frankie is an affectionate and social dog who absolutely loves people. He enjoys playing with both adults and children, but due to his high energy level and tendency to playfully mouth hands and arms, he may not be suitable for very young children who could find him overwhelming. 👉Behavior with Other Animals 🦴Dogs: Frankie gets along great with other dogs and loves to play! He can be a bit rough when playing with larger dogs but is very gentle and adjusts his play style when interacting with small dogs. 🦴Cats: He has not been exposed to cats, but based on his personality, he is likely to approach them fearlessly and try to initiate play rather than avoiding them. 👉House Training Frankie is partially house-trained. He is used to relieving himself indoors but tends to only go in specific areas. If provided with pee pads in those spots, he will use them. He previously lived in a foster home where he preferred indoor potty breaks, likely due to limited early exposure to outdoor walks. However, his habits may have changed now that he is staying at a shelter. 👉Energy Level: 9-10 (High Energy) 👉Separation Anxiety & Barking 🦴No separation anxiety 🦴Vocal when he wants attention or playtime—he may bark at people or other dogs to express his excitement or needs. 👉Touch Sensitivity Frankie loves being petted and handled—he craves human touch and has no fear of hands. 👉Walking & Leash Behavior 🦴Strong leash pulling, especially when excited. 🦴Easily distracted and eager to approach people and dogs he encounters. 🦴Knows basic commands like "sit" and "wait" but struggles to respond in high-energy outdoor environments. 👉Escape Behavior No known escape tendencies; he does not attempt to run away from home or during walks.

Story
Indy is a 6-year-old, healthy, playful, ball-loving, high-energy golden retriever. He’s well-trained, knows all basic commands (plus some fun ones!), and is a smart and eager learner. Overall, Indy is a great dog, but has some behavioral quirks - he can be reactive on leash around animals, and is slow to develop trust with people. He often guards his food, toys, and personal space (especially when resting/sleeping) from people he does not trust, and may be startled and react if touched unexpectedly. With two very young kids in our home, we worry that Indy's reactivity could be problematic, so are rehoming. Indy would thrive in a calm, structured environment with an experienced, patient owner who can help him work through these challenges (all are quite manageable, but requires planning). Ideally, he would be the only pet in a home where he can feel secure and build trust. With the right training, boundaries, and positive reinforcement, Indy is an incredibly loving and loyal companion.

Story
Meet Cali – Your Future Adventure Buddy! 🐾 Cali’s journey began in the forests of Istanbul, Turkey 🌍, where she was found at just 45 days old. Her mother, a Golden Retriever, had been abandoned after becoming pregnant, and sadly, Cali was the only survivor of her litter 💔. Despite this heartbreaking start, she’s grown into a beautiful, smart, and loving 4-year-old Golden Retriever mix 🐕. Cali is an adventurous soul! She loves outdoor activities 🌲, whether it’s long walks, running, or playing with other big dogs 🐕‍🦺. She’s also great with kids 👶 and respectful of cats 🐱, making her a wonderful fit for families. Indoors, Cali is calm and enjoys lounging on the couch 🛋 or napping in her cozy spot, though she appreciates her personal space while resting. She’s completed basic obedience training 🎓, is fully house-trained. While she may pull on the leash when excited to meet other dogs, she quickly settles with clear guidance 🐾. Cali is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to find a loving family who will give her both the adventure and the care she deserves ❤. If you’re looking for a loyal, active, and affectionate companion, Cali is ready to meet you! Cali can fly to Toronto when she finds her forever home!
