Story
Meet Kelley – A Heart of Gold Name: Kelley Age: 2.5 years Breed: Labrador retriever/staffordshire terrier mix Health Status: Heartworm positive (treatment provided) About Kelley: Meet Kelley, a gentle and loving 2.5-year-old dog who has a story that will tug at your heartstrings. Kelley was found camping out at an abandoned hospital with her "boyfriend" and around 40 other dogs. When the demolition crew noticed she was pregnant, they compassionately set aside a safe area for her to give birth. Tragically, before rescue crews could reach her, a severe storm hit Houston, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of all but one of her puppies. Despite this trauma, Kelley remains a sweet and loving soul. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly to those who show her kindness. Her nurturing instincts shine through, and her gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. Personality: Kelley is a true sweetheart. While she may be a bit shy initially, she is incredibly loving and thrives on affection. She is okay in a crate and has shown that she can adapt well to a home environment. Her kind demeanor makes her a great match for families or individuals who are willing to provide her with a little time to come out of her shell. Health and Recovery: Kelley is heartworm positive, but with the support of our rescue, she will receive the necessary treatment to help her recover. With your love and care, she can look forward to a bright, healthy future. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite.  When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  If you’re looking to open your heart to a dog who has already shown incredible resilience, Kelley is waiting for you! She deserves a loving forever home where she can feel safe and cherished.  To add Kelley to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2192981##

Story
Tiffani is the perfect package of sweetness, smarts, and playfulness! This lovable girl is as well-rounded as they come and is looking for her forever family to shower with love and loyalty. Tiffani is a friend to everyone—she's fantastic with other dogs and would fit right into a multi-pet home. She’s also great with kids, making her an ideal family dog. With her gentle spirit and playful energy, she knows how to keep everyone entertained while also being incredibly affectionate. When it comes to manners, Tiffani is top-notch! She’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. Her intelligence shines through, and she’s always up for learning new tricks or playing with any toy she can find (and she loves them all!). And did we mention her smile? Tiffani has the absolute best grin, which she’ll flash at you anytime she's in her happy place—which, for her, is almost all the time! If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a playful spirit, Tiffani is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and endless smiles.  If she's such a good dog, then why hasn't she been adopted yet? Have you ever heard of "black dog syndrome"?  Black Dog Syndrome is a phenomenon where black dogs, especially larger ones, are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, resulting in longer stays and lower adoption rates compared to lighter-colored dogs. By adopting a black dog, you’re not only gaining a devoted pet—you’re breaking stereotypes and saving a life! Tiffani is a well balanced dog that would fit seamlessly into just about any home but her black coat has put her at the bottom of the adoption pool. Look at her smile, look at her energy, look at the love in her eyes... she will be the perfect companion for someone, black fur and all! To add Tiffani to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Story
Meet Gary – The Butterfly-Chasing, Tail-Wagging Rockstar Gary isn’t just a black lab—he’s a lifestyle. A playgroup legend with a PhD in Zoomies, Gary takes his role as the life of the party very seriously. He’s got charisma, charm, and a tail that could sweep a small village. When he’s not showing off his sweet moves at doggy socials, you’ll find him chasing butterflies with the intensity of someone who thinks they might actually catch one someday (spoiler: he never does, but don’t tell him that). On leash? He’s a total gentleman. Off leash? Still a gentleman, but now with extra flair. He’ll say hello to every person, dog, and mildly interesting shrub he passes—because everyone deserves a little Gary in their day. He’s affectionate, well-mannered, and always ready to turn your walk into a red-carpet event. Basically, he’s a 10/10 good boy and then some.

Meet Luna, the black lab with a heart as big as her energy! Outgoing, bubbly, and always ready to make new friends, Luna lives life to the fullest. She’s a ball enthusiast and could play fetch for hours, but don’t worry, she’ll always pause for a tasty treat or two! Eager to please, she knows how to sit on command, but she’d much rather be out on an adventure—whether it’s a hike, a run, or just a good ol' romp in the yard. Luna’s friendly, active, and always up for fun, making every day feel like a new adventure!

Story
Kahlo 8 is a 8-month-old cattle dog mix, tri-pod girl that is ready to find her forever home! Kahlo is a shy pup who comes to us from a local tribal reservation where she was discovered with a severe leg injury which required amputation however she has healed up well and is incredibly mobile! Kahlo takes a minute to warm up to new people, but with treats and time she is very sweet and loyal. Her favorite things are playing with her doggy friends and lounging in soft dog beds. She also loves toys, bones, belly rubs, and doing zoomies around the yard. She is house and crate trained, and super smart. She will need a family that can be patient and gentle with her while she continues to learn new things. She is working on walking on a leash and riding in the car and is completely crate trained. Kahlo will do best in a home with a canine companion and a fenced in yard. Kahlo has a lot of love to give and will make a wonderful companion! If you'd like to meet Kahlo, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
My name is Sushi! I am 36lb, 1-1.5 year old Lab / Terrier mix, I always have a smile on my face, though can be shy at times…especially around new people. I have a cute lighter-colored halo on my head that kind of makes me special. I am fully house trained and I learned to use the doggy door at my foster home so fast you wouldn’t believe it! I need a little more time to get comfortable with a leash and collar. I’m starting to know that when my dog friends and I get into a vehicle it’s to go have lots of fun and I do not need to be frightened of it! I love to zoom around the yard, play, chew dog toys, sleep in my doggy bed and be snuggled and kissed.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Though estimated to be around seven years old, he still has plenty of energy and a playful spirit that will bring joy to any home.Despite a rough start, Cory’s loving personality shines through. He is friendly, affectionate, and eager to be part of a family. He does well in a crate overnight, enjoys the company of other dogs and is always excited for new adventures. He’s still learning proper leash manners and would do best with someone who can help him build confidence on walks. He finds cats a little too exciting so he will need a feline free home.Cory’s enthusiasm for life is inspiring! He loves food (sometimes a little too much!) and will keep you on your toes with his goofy and determined nature. While he would enjoy a yard, it’s not a necessity as long as he gets plenty of exercise and playtime.Cory’s ideal home is with someone who can offer patience, structure, and lots of love. He’s a loyal companion who just needs a second chance—and he’s ready to give his whole heart in return.
