He’s a little man who would much rather investigate new places with his nose than hop onto a lap for cuddles. Cautious of overly handsy humans, a family willing to respect his space, allowing himself to get comfy on his own timeline would really help this boy shine! Once outside, this guy can really strut his stuff; zig-zaging about, so you’ll need to try and keep up with him! The Monmouth County SPCA is open for walk-ins every day, starting at noon!

Rosie is likely a Maltese/Poodle mix and at 2 1/2 years old, is a complete cuddle bug who loves every bit of attention she receives from humans and dogs alike. Yoda is about 1 year old and what a fun and playful little guy he is. He is likely a Shih Tzu and just loves to play and also enjoys all the attention he gets from his family. They are both learning to walk on a leash and becoming housebroken. They get along very well with dogs of all sizes. We are looking for one family that will love both of these dogs so they can remain together. My name is GRUMPY and I’m a 5y M Tan Shih Tzu X. I’m 15 lbs of PURE SWEET GROUCHINESS. I was brought to a police precinct in the Bronx, NY and luckily the rescue was able to save me before I was taken to the shelter. I was affectionately named Grumpy because I was not immediately warm and fuzzy with the foster mom and growled at her a lot… but once I got to know her and she went slow with me to introduce me to her household… I trusted her and she can do anything to me now. I’m a little guarded with strangers and rightly so because I was pretty much neglected by my previous family. I’m housebroken and walk well on the leash and I can be picked up and handled as long as you slow. I’m a nice guy but nervous at first so I need someone who is going to be patient and believe in me and give me the TLC I need. I’m good with small dogs but am afraid of big dogs and will snap/snark at them. I’ve not met any cats so not sure about them and best if I don’t go with any young kids. I prefer to be the ONLY DOG so I can get all the attention that I never got in my previous home. My only other vice is that it’s not easy to groom me.. I’m nervous around objects coming to my face so I need to go to an experienced groomer but I was fine being handled by the vet. I need a QUIET ADULT ONLY home with someone or a couple that are home a lot and have had previous experience with a “grumpy” dog and are willing to give me the TLC and believe in me to make me the SWEET AND LOVING dog I know I can be!! Aiden’s a 12yo 11lb Maltese mix. He’s dog friendly and is older kid friendly. He doesn’t like dogs or in her personal space unless he feels comfortable with them. He is pee pad trained and will wear a Belly Band. He’d be good in a secure fenced yard but might need his person out there with him and when going for walks he tends to bark at other dogs. He’s sweet, loyal, attention-seeking, enjoys short walks, vocal about his wants and likes to be with his person snuggling next to them or on their lap. Aiden MUST have a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time along with people who will give him the time and attention he seeks. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Aiden is neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. Meet Cotton, charming 8-year-old girl, as estimated by the vet. I found Cotton abandoned and in need of a loving home. Originally from Tampa, Florida, she's now looking for a new family to call her own. Due to a job relocation from Tampa to New Jersey, I'm unable to keep Cotton in my current apartment building, which doesn't allow dogs. Cotton is incredibly loyal, especially to the person who feeds her. She loves to stick by your side and craves companionship. Cotton is house-trained, but since moving to an apartment, she doesn't have access to a backyard anymore. If she's given water and not taken out within an hour, she might have accidents indoors. She's a true Floridian at heart and adores spending time outdoors. I'm seeking a loving family or individual who can provide Cotton with the care and attention she deserves. Ideally, her new home would have a backyard where she can run freely without a leash. Cotton weighs 6 lbs. She is tiny.
