Story
We adopted Zamba when she was a puppy. She is now 10. We love her!!! My wife and I hate to let her go to another home. Unfortunately, we need to travel frequently now to visit our 4 children that are very far from us. Zamba loves company, adults, babies, and children. She is house broken. She stays in our yard without a leash. She comes to the door and barks when she wants to come in. She is up to date with vaccines. We don’t ask for a fee to have her adopted. We just want a wonderful home for her. Her “brother” passed last year. So, she will be fine with other dogs.

APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT & BREED DOG: MYSTIC GENDER: FEMALE DOB: 11-13-22 APPROX WEIGHT: 50 approx BREED: Plot Hound Mix LOCATION: Delhi, LA ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 (includes transport) RESCUE STORY: Every so often we come across an unfortunate situation and we are compelled to help. It is not abandonment or neglect; it is simply a loving pet owner that can no longer care for their pet. We are so happy when they reach out to us so that we may help find the pup a new, loving home instead of being turned into a shelter where, sadly, their fate is commonly not a good one. Turning in a dog is by no means easy on the human, but the dog also goes through a lot of stress and feelings of loss. They just don’t understand why they were taken from their home and their people. Mystic is going through this right now, and we are in search of new people for her, people who will be just as lucky to get her as she is them. PERSONALITY: Mystic is a beautiful Plot Hound Mix with silky brindle fur that looks like a tiger, and a delightful personality to boot! Foster mom says she is super sweet and very smart. Mystic is young and energetic and would absolutely love a young couple to hike with or a family with children to play with (we ALWAYS stress, however, that young children and dogs should never be left unsupervised for the safety of both). ABOUT THE BREED: When it comes to the personality, the Plott Hounds are confident, courageous and bright dogs. In addition to it, their kind nature attracts the attention of the people. Hounds are one of the most popular breeds in the USA because they are loyal, loving, affectionate and patient, making great family dogs. Plott Hounds will defend their owners from perceived threats. And early socialization is imperative to prevent this trait from getting out of hand. This breed is also fantastic watchdogs. Plott Hounds are incredibly brave. They were bred to hunt massive animals such as bears, so they will not back down from any person or dog no matter the size. The Hounds are known to fit perfectly into family life with its sweet, peaceful and gentle nature. These dogs are well behaved and always friendly. They are not aggressive to people and other animals. They will happily welcome your guests with a tail wag. This breed is just as happy lounging around the house. They are extremely affectionate with all the family members and have an average activity level. The Plott Hound has a curious and playful temperament. Firstly, these dogs are loyal and smart. Moreover, they love to please their people and be along with them every-time possible. Overall, the Plott Hounds are people-oriented dogs that behave very well with their family members. Though the Plott Hounds are loyal and affectionate with their people, they are somewhat wary of strangers. And they are likely to bark at them at first. But when properly introduced, they get along very quickly. Lastly, the independent and stubborn nature of them play a huge role while training. CHILDREN: Yes, the Plott Hounds have a good reputation when it comes to dealing with kids. However, these dogs are better with older children who know how to treat dogs better. And this means they are not suited for younger kids. These dogs can become very possessive of their food items. To conclude, the Plott Hounds are only recommended for families with older children. WHY THE PLOTT HOUND? The Plott Hound is a fabulous pet for dog savvy owners. The Plott Hound temperament makes it a challenging choice for beginners, but if you are an experienced guardian and you are looking for a fiercely loyal companion, the Plott Hound might be the dog for you. Mystic had a loving owner and is now in search of a new forever home to call her own. If you think Mystic might be the right addition to your family, please give her a chance. She is such a wonderful girl!

Story
Big Mama had 14 puppies - 14, yes, that's correct. She was lucky because right before birth, she was a stray in New Albany, Mississippi, walking around with an embedded collar; the people in the area were "annoyed" by her presence, and the threat to shoot her was made - this is true, not made up for "interesting bio" sake. One of our volunteers went and trapped her and brought her home. She gave birth two days later. She was safe, and her babies were safe.Another rescue took 3 of her puppies and left 11 behind, and mom, too. We don't love that, but it is what it is—these are ours, and they will find amazing homes, and so will BIG MAMA!Mama looks like a big plott hound/pit mix - daddies are unknown, and we think there may have been several. The puppies have been relocated to New England and are thriving in various foster homes. We are getting new photos and videos all the time. It's been quite a feat! Breed: Mom is Brindle Plott Hound (big girl) Dad(s) unknownAge: 9 weeks as of 3/9/2025Weight: 11.5 lbs as of 3/9 Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:   New England      Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee, which is ALREADY PAID.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Story
Meet Miss Bella! This charming little lady is a serene companion who loves to relax on the couch with her human. Bella is a plot hound mix, approximately six years old. She enjoys playing chase with her canine friends but has a strong prey drive, so she may not be suitable around cats or other small animals. She's an intelligent girl who has already mastered house training and is currently learning how to walk on a leash. Bella is also a true foodie; while she isn't keen on sharing her treats, she is gradually learning to share her food and adopt other positive dog behaviors.
