Story
Let it go, let it gooooooo ...Can't hold it back anymore ... Yes, my name is Elsa, just like that Elsa! I came into this world in February, right in the middle of a chilly San Antonio winter when the temps were plummeting, and life was tough for many. But fate smiled upon me, and a kind-hearted man and his family came to my rescue, sparing me from the freezing cold. I'll be honest; I'm a sensitive soul. Loud voices and sudden noises tend to rattle me, but let me tell you, once I've warmed up to you, I'm a different dog entirely. I'll shower you with kisses and share my whole heart. You see, I'm not just pretty on the outside; I'm smart and gentle, too. What I need most is a patient family willing to give me the time and space to settle into my new home. Trust me; I have so much love to give. In my foster home, they've discovered a side of me that shines when I play with their Big Great Pyrenees. We're like a couple of kids, playing hide and seek, and chasing each other around. I'm also a sunbather at heart, so outdoor lounging in the sun is a favorite pastime of mine. Now, here's the thing: I'm not a fan of long car rides, and I can get a little nervous. But if you speak to me gently and reassure me, I'll find my courage. Leash walks can be a bit tricky too, but with your patience and encouragement, I'm willing to give it a try. In the evenings, I like to cozy up in bed with my humans, though I don't demand it. I just love to be near the ones who care for me. I'm on the lookout for a forever home, a place where I'll be cherished and appreciated just as much as I have been in my foster family. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's ready to bloom with your love, look no further - I'm right here. Goober is a kind old soul. He's a social loving buddy. He likes kids attention, he'll say hi to anyone big, small, young, old, male, female, there is NO LIMIT to his love :) He's also good with cats and gets along with other dogs regardless of size or gender. I mean, what else can you ask for?? We must admit he is a little shy at first with big dogs but once they say hi, he's ready to play tag. He is good on leash and enjoys walks at sunset(in S Texas that is the coolest part of the day). He knows a few commands like sit, stop, stay, and go. He has never shown aggression of any type. He doesn't guard food nor toys. This is what his foster mom says about Goober, "He'll make you laugh in sadness, console you in grief or simply keep you company in happy or quiet times. He wants nothing more than to be your best friend and confidante!! He is kind of like a Golden BOY!!" Adopt this kind and quiet soul and give him a couch to hang on and a lap to keep warm!! Have you ever read a novel that has so many twist and turns that by the time you get to the last chapter, you have NO idea who won and who is the REAL good guy?? Well, I believe my life is like that. I came from somewhere, no one really knows where, and I ended up at the pound, somehow.... So i was actually adopted as a cute puppy from the pound..... and THEN 5 months later... I was saved at a busy intersection with a badly injured back leg.... no "family" around :( SO, luckily I was saved by a RESCUER!!! I mean, what are the odds?? So my name is Artie and now I am healed up and looking for my furever REAL family. I am a great sized pup, 30# of fun and love and all kinds of playtime! I love to run and play, tug of war and keep away I excel at and the zoomies too! I am great with other dogs, and kids and am ok with cats but require a good introduction and experienced dog/cat introducer with monitoring as I may chase a kittie if it runs. So, I also have learned quite a few commands, sit, stay, crate, working on leave it. I am super smart AND MOTIVATED to help find my next best chapter. I will cuddle with you when I am tired and I love to be close to you. ADOPT ME SOON!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Hi, my name is Jack and I am a super, duper sweet boy looking for my forever home. I’m a 2 year old Plott Hound mix, around 72 lbs. I am a big fan of the hoomans and other doggos and I would be happy to have a doggo friend to hang and play with. I love being active and I'm super smart - hey we could be hiking buddies. I am a big boy at 72 lbs so probably best I don't go to a home with the really littles, I would hate to knock one over, or even sit on one! Can you find room in your home for me? *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Meet Misty!! Misty came into the shelter in Mississippi with six other pups. They all look different of course so we think there was multiple fathers. We are going based on what the vet is telling us for possible breeds. Misty is a very outgoing pup. She is like her sibling star, but she definitely is more energetic. Misty enjoys being a mischievous little girl and also is a total food hound. As you can see in the video. Misty could eat forever and ever!! Lol!! She also does enjoy being held and cuddling when it's nap time. Misty absolutely loves playing with toys and chewing her nyla bones. She is overall a chill pup for her age. Misty is going to make such a fantastic family member. She will enjoy lots of outdoor exploring time with her family. This girl will need a family who doesn't leave her more than 3 hours or so a day. She will need to be let out for potty breaks, socializing, exercise, training and to be fed three times a day. Puppies are a lot of work, require training, and lots of attention. Please apply only if you are able to give her 100% commitment. Misty, can't wait to meet you, so please apply for her today! She is one awesome girl who deserves a forever family!!! We adopted Zamba when she was a puppy. She is now 10. We love her!!! My wife and I hate to let her go to another home. Unfortunately, we need to travel frequently now to visit our 4 children that are very far from us. Zamba loves company, adults, babies, and children. She is house broken. She stays in our yard without a leash. She comes to the door and barks when she wants to come in. She is up to date with vaccines. We don’t ask for a fee to have her adopted. We just want a wonderful home for her. Her “brother” passed last year. So, she will be fine with other dogs.

Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures. If you're seeking a four-legged friend who embodies both resilience and companionship, look no further than Hondo. He's ready to stand by your side and show you the depths of his affectionate heart.
