When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! ADOPT...........DON'T SHOP!!! My LIFE depends on it!!! LOcal adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Daphne was trapped in a rural area after reports from a bike rider who saw her often that she was medically fragile and needed help. She had Demodex mange so was nearly hairless and sun burned. Her feet were so sore from walking on the stubble from the mowed area she had to cross to get food and water people were leaving for her that she could hardly walk. When she was trapped wer observed that they were terribly swollen and oozing from the sores. She also had a very nasty attitude when she was trapped. She went to vet but could not be directly examined because her attitude but we got her pain meds, antibiotics and calming meds. I was able to give her chicken through the trap to get her meds down her the first night. By the second day she loved everyone. She was no longer in pain and she was getting food and water when she wanted. She is now living out her puppyhood which she probably never had. She loves all dogs and people and toys. For weeks she would not go outside on her own but now that she knows she can come bck in she wil go outside on her own. She is HW positive an is in pre-shot treatment but otherwise healthy and happy.

Story
Welcome Plexie to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Plexie is a 2.5 year old Pointer/Lab is our best guess. She has beautiful markings and a lower coat and isn’t a big shedder. She is being fostered by a good Samaritan. She has 10 beautiful and very robust puppies. She is a great momma dog and she is very sweet to all people. She is friendly with the teen children in the home where she is now staying. She is good with other dogs and nice to strangers. She was relatively quiet at the Rescue and she is good on a leash. She is good in a car ride and knows sit command. She is also potty trained, vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She is a nice sized dog at about 65 pounds. We will spay her as soon as she fully dries up and she will be ready for her forever home. She did a good job when we clipped her toenails and didn’t have any reaction. She will make a great companion pet for a family. We think she will be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is very tolerant to all the puppies and we honestly cannot see any negative thing about this amazing dog. She is currently in Texas and she can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Splash is a rescue from Houston Texas that was due to be euthanized the day after we went to the shelter. He is a bit overprotective with some abandonment issues but loves very hard and is very loyal. He doesn't do well with strangers as his initial response is to create distance and we were told it's from his past trauma. We had home for years but as our little human gets older (3yrs old) she is beginning to interact with him more and he still shows mild aggression at times so to be safe we would love for him to go to a home with someone that has the time and energy for him.

Story
Star is a super sweet, 45 lb, mixed breed, rockstar of a dog! She is great with other dogs, kid-approved, friendly when meeting new people, and well socialized. She is loads of fun and will be a great partner for rambling around the back yard, hikes, a good game of fetch, and any fun activities you can think of. She is crate & potty trained so she should make a smooth transition to her new home. Star is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
Olivia is a new mother who just weaned her pups, she was the best mom but is ready to move on and find a forever home for herself. She is so sweet, everyone loves her. She is good with kids, other dogs and shows no interest in the cat. We honestly don't know her exact breed but I used a breed identifier and that is what I got. She was abandoned when she was pregnant but it didn't hurt her spirit at all, she is loving and sweet, loves to run with her foster siblings and play with soft toys. She is going to make an awesome companion for someone. She is currently housed outside, she never uses the bathroom inside the building and prefers to go after she is let out of her kennel area. I believe she was a house dog at one time and that she will be very easy to potty train. Everyone seems to want pups but don't forget the moms deserve loving homes too. Olivia Olympic is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection.
