At 11 months old and nearly full grown, these pups are just the right size—not too big, not too small, but perfect for snuggles on the couch and adventures in the great outdoors. With friendly, outgoing personalities, they love to romp and play with toys, chase balls, and wrestle with their doggy friends. These smart pups are eager to learn and full of potential, making them fantastic companions for a family or a solo adventurer looking for a hiking buddy, a town explorer, or just a loyal shadow to follow them around the house. And when the day is done? They’ll happily curl up by your side for some quality cuddle time.   These sweet pups come from an unwanted litter, but they were lovingly cared for by their owner, who hoped to find them homes before turning to us for help. While the owner described them as Heeler and Black and Tan Coonhound mixes, we think we see a dash of Pointer or Lab in their sleek coats and athletic builds. Their exact heritage may be a mystery, but one thing is certain: they’re 100% adorable and 100% ready for their forever homes.   Ready to meet your perfect-sized, loving adventure buddy? Lenny, Lottie, Levi, Lester, and Lewis are waiting for you!       * The adoption fee of $525 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and transport fee.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions     Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   Additional information is available on our site  caninecompassionfund.org  January 14, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
Boston is the sweetest boy and will wiggle his way into your heart the moment you meet him. He is playful, curious, and snuggly. He loves a game of fetch, going for rides in the car, a good chew, and spending time with his person. He's fascinated by anything that flies and loves to track all of the interesting scents in the backyard. With each new experience Boston is learning that world isn't so scary and that people can be trusted. He enjoys the company of other dogs. Boston will spend quiet time in his crate and is fully house trained. At this time Boston would do best in a home without children. This boy is a trainer's dream- he's so attentive, eager to please, and food motivated. He loves to learn. Boston is a English Pointer/Retriever mix. He's up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He is neutered and microchipped, too. As with every dog, he will need to continue his socialization and training in his forever home. To adopt, submit an application at www.because4paws.org

Story
Welcome Plexie to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Plexie is a 2.5 year old Pointer/Lab is our best guess. She has beautiful markings and a lower coat and isn’t a big shedder. She is being fostered by a good Samaritan. She has 10 beautiful and very robust puppies. She is a great momma dog and she is very sweet to all people. She is friendly with the teen children in the home where she is now staying. She is good with other dogs and nice to strangers. She was relatively quiet at the Rescue and she is good on a leash. She is good in a car ride and knows sit command. She is also potty trained, vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She is a nice sized dog at about 65 pounds. We will spay her as soon as she fully dries up and she will be ready for her forever home. She did a good job when we clipped her toenails and didn’t have any reaction. She will make a great companion pet for a family. We think she will be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is very tolerant to all the puppies and we honestly cannot see any negative thing about this amazing dog. She is currently in Texas and she can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

Story
Name: Lily Grace Nicknames: Lils. Lil-LAY. Silly Lily. Brown Dog. Breed: Heinz-57 Age: ~ 3 years Weight: 55 lbs. Before OMD: If you couldn't tell by her name, she’s a southern gal. She made her way to us from our Alabama rescue partner in spring 2021 and at a total loss as to how this beautiful girl is still looking for her forever. Descriptors: Exuberant. Joyful. Sweet. Silly. Athletic. Affectionate. Independent. Best physical features: Her speckled legs. Her soft coat. Energy Level: Cheetah in the Serengeti in her yard. Zen, cuddly cheetah in her house. What she loves most: Toys (particularly the squeaky ones). Food (hold the carrots, please). Commandeering all the furniture. Giving kisses. Running. Critter hunting. Favorite movie: Up. #squirrel What we love most: Her signature lean. Her apologies -- squints eyes, thumps tail, gives a big smile. Denver the Guilty Dog has nothing on her. Her determination to do anything and everything to make her people happy and proud of her. What makes us smile: When she hits the "on" switch for outside cheetah mode. The joy she gets from racing around, throwing her toys and catching them. Copilot Rating: Not great. Car rides make her woozy. She’s ok on quick trips but vehicles aren’t really her jam. What she knows: Down. Drop. Sit. Off (as in off furniture). Spot (point to a spot and she'll go there and sit). Working on: Mouthing when excited. Four on the floor. Understanding the concept of personal space. Kids: Yep, but her tail is strong as a whip and she’s still working on her manners so kiddos should be sturdy and dog-savvy. Dogs: No thanks in her home! She prefers to be queen of her castle and she’ll need to be the only pup in her home. She does fine seeing other dogs out and about. Cats: Hard no. Other small animals: Also no. Her prey drive is alive and well. House-trained: Absolutely. To perfection. Crate-trained: Definitely. No protests ever. Lily Grace is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She’s available for adoption for residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from Omdrescue.org.

Story
Meet Hazelnut, an adorable nine-month-old, 45 lb. pointer mix with the cutest speckle coat and big pointy ears. She was found roaming in a field in Texas with a shih tzu (adopted) a few months ago. She’s currently in Texas awaiting an adopter or foster so she can travel up north to find her furever family! Hazelnut is a high energy girl ready to be the life of the party! She is active, loves to play, can't get enough of her toys, and absolutely loves other dogs. She'd be thrilled to have a doggy companion in her furever home. She's super sweet and never says no to a snuggle. Hazelnut is fine around the kids but may knock a young one down so older children are recommended due to her exuberance. Due to living on the streets, she has never had training before so she'll need someone to guide and teach her basic manners and obedience. A home with a fenced yard is a must. Hazelnut will make a wonderful addition to any home! Her adoption fee is $450 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in Hazelnut, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.
