Story
Fiona needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home. About three years old, Fiona came from a large hoarding situation. She is a shy, gentle girl who needs TLC and time to get comfortable in a home. Fiona loves other dogs and we would like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. The activity level of small children would scare her, so an adult home or one with older children would be ideal. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and a family who has experience and patience. To foster or foster-to-adopt Fiona please fill out our application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application NOTE: Foster or foster-to-adopt families must be located within the state of Connecticut.

Story
Lyla just loves playing with other dogs She's shy with new people and takes a little time to realize you're just a new friend she hasn't met yet - but a few treats and some time and she'll figure it out! She'd love a home with a securely fenced yard (she hasn't figured out leashes yet) and a dog friend or two - and would be happy to live with teenaged children. This sweet girl came from a large hoarding situation and she has come so far! These days she's a happy girl - and is ready and waiting to find her forever home. If that home could be yours, please fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application

Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs  Age 2 years       Sweet Stubby was found wandering alone in a rural part of Mississippi, and taken in by an elderly man who fell in love with this gentle boy but couldn’t keep him. He called Wags for help and the rescue took him in, The man’s grandson named him Stubby for his little short legs!     Stubby is a sweet boy, he is gentle and gets along fine with all the dogs at the rescue. He was recently neutered and has all his vaccinations and is ready for a loving home. Stubby absolutely loves to be with his people, he follows the director of the rescue all over the property, his little tail wagging. He is gentle with children and just a great family dog. Stubby is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher while he adjusted to a new home.   Stubby is ready to come to the northeast on Saturday, March 8. He will make a wonderful member of the family.       Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Marshmallow or any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    February 24, 2025, 8:52 am

Story
Meet Hazelnut, an adorable nine-month-old, 45 lb. pointer mix with the cutest speckle coat and big pointy ears. She was found roaming in a field in Texas with a shih tzu (adopted) a few months ago. She’s currently in Texas awaiting an adopter or foster so she can travel up north to find her furever family! Hazelnut is a high energy girl ready to be the life of the party! She is active, loves to play, can't get enough of her toys, and absolutely loves other dogs. She'd be thrilled to have a doggy companion in her furever home. She's super sweet and never says no to a snuggle. Hazelnut is fine around the kids but may knock a young one down so older children are recommended due to her exuberance. Due to living on the streets, she has never had training before so she'll need someone to guide and teach her basic manners and obedience. A home with a fenced yard is a must. Hazelnut will make a wonderful addition to any home! Her adoption fee is $450 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in Hazelnut, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Copy and paste the link into your browser: https://youtube.com/shorts/gs1FU36GYNQ?feature=share   _________________________________________________________________________________   This lovable crew is ready to steal your heart! At 11 months old and nearly full grown, these pups are just the right size—not too big, not too small, but perfect for snuggles on the couch and adventures in the great outdoors. With friendly, outgoing personalities, they love to romp and play with toys, chase balls, and wrestle with their doggy friends. These smart pups are eager to learn and full of potential, making them fantastic companions for a family or a solo adventurer looking for a hiking buddy, a town explorer, or just a loyal shadow to follow them around the house. And when the day is done? They’ll happily curl up by your side for some quality cuddle time.   These sweet pups come from an unwanted litter, but they were lovingly cared for by their owner, who hoped to find them homes before turning to us for help. While the owner described them as Heeler and Black and Tan Coonhound mixes, we think we see a dash of Pointer or Lab in their sleek coats and athletic builds. Their exact heritage may be a mystery, but one thing is certain: they’re 100% adorable and 100% ready for their forever homes.   Ready to meet your perfect-sized, loving adventure buddy? Lenny, Lottie, Levi, Lester, and Lewis are waiting for you!       * The adoption fee of $375 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and transport fee.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions     Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   Additional information is available on our site  caninecompassionfund.org February 26, 2025, 10:41 am
