She is getting used to being in a kennel but definitely not her favorite.    Shared walls might be tough for her.   She came in very disheveled but did very well for her groom. I'm an 8-year-old female Shih Tzu, and I weigh about 12 pounds. At home, I'm mellow but love to make good use of the toy box, especially when it comes to my favorite squeaky and crinkle toys. My absolute favorite is the bacon toy! I'm pretty social and get along with everyone. I always try to include myself in whatever is going on. While I can be a little hesitant at times, I'm not fearful or shy. I adapt well and love being part of the action. I'm still working on my potty training, but I'm making progress! I'm also learning to be comfortable in my crate. I eat in there, and although I might cause a bit of a ruckus at first, I do settle down eventually. We haven’t worked on leash training so I do require a fenced yard in my forever home. Overall, I am fairly quiet, but will let you know when I am alarmed or need something. I weigh about 16 pounds and have a soft spot for being close to my people—though I’m not overly clingy, I do like to stay nearby. I’m a bit reserved at first, especially in new situations, but once I trust you, I absolutely love getting pets and attention. I am learning to be brave so will need a forever home with lots of patience. I get along great with other dogs, no matter their size, and I’d really thrive in a home with another dog to keep me company and help me feel secure. I’m still getting the hang of playing with toys, so I might need a little time to warm up to that. One of my favorite things to do is explore the outdoors in a fenced yard. I’m not leash trained and need more practice. I’m almost potty trained, especially when kept on a good schedule, so I’m really close to getting it right! When it comes to the crate, I’m not a big fan yet and might bark, so I’d do best in a home without shared walls while I work on getting more comfortable. I’d be perfectly happy with a single person or a couple who can give me the love and care I deserve. I would thrive in a calm home. Name: Jolene Breeds: Shih Tzu Mix Age: Puppy Sex: Female Size: Small Jolene is a 7 month old shih Tzu mix with a soft coat and a sweet disposition. She absolutely wiggles with joy for the slightest bit of attention. Jolene is playful and loves other dogs, interested in the kitties but not aggressive, and adores all people. Being a puppy house training is a work in progress still with some accidents as she learns the routine. She is cratetrained and does well in the crate for the workday and overnight. Jolene does not appear to shed so will need an owner who understands she will need to be brushed frequently to avoid matting and groomed every 6-8 weeks. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $850 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.
