At just 10 months old and weighing 8.3lbs, Tony the Tiger isn’t quite the king of the jungle—but he is the ruler of the nearest available lap! This pint-sized cuddle champion was surrendered to our rescue when his owners moved, and while he may have lost his first home, he’s ready to pounce (gently) into his forever one. Tony isn’t ferocious—unless you count his unwavering determination to get snacks—but he is grrrrreat at snuggling, lounging, and making you laugh with his quirky little mohawk and radar-sized ears. Tony’s day starts like any good house tiger—patiently waiting in his crate for freedom, then immediately embarking on a grand morning adventure (aka: a potty break, followed by breakfast in a snuffle mat or wobble kong). If there’s a car ride involved, he’s thrilled to be your co-pilot. Otherwise, he’s content to trot around the block before settling into his throne (a.k.a. a dog bed or your lap) for some serious lounging. He’s got just enough energy to make you think, Wow, this guy is fun! before reminding you, Actually, I’m more of a professional lap-warmer. Now, let’s talk personality. When Tony first arrived, he barked some—presumably trying to tell us something very important, like stock market predictions or the secrets of the universe. Turns out, he just wanted a cuddle or a snack. Now that he’s settled in, he’s much more chill, barking minimal. He’s independent enough to hang out solo but has an uncanny ability to detect when a lap has formed. Seriously, if you crouch to tie your shoes, he’s in your lap faster than you can say “Tony the Tiger.” He’s a cuddle connoisseur, snuggling right into your neck like a tiny, warm scarf. Tony’s leash skills? Grrrreat! He walks politely, doesn’t chase squirrels (but does watch them with deep suspicion), and has a recall so sharp he might secretly be a boomerang. He’s also a certified Good Boy™ when it comes to manners—no chewing, digging, or excessive barking. He does have opinions about dinner, though. If he sees you cooking and you’re not sharing, expect a strongly worded woof in protest. And while he’s mostly house-trained, he’s still working on those last few accidents—because hey, even jungle cats have off days. Tony would fit into just about any home—as long as his people appreciate a snuggle buddy who doesn’t demand constant attention but will absolutely claim their lap. He’s cool with kids, enjoys other dogs as he has always lived with them, and is fine with a moderately active family (though if you’re looking for a long-distance hiking partner, you’d better be prepared to carry him when he gets tired). His ideal humans will appreciate his chill yet affectionate vibe, his hilarious expressions, and his complete inability to resist an available lap. If you’re looking for a dog who’s part cuddly companion, part comedy act, and 100% lovable, Tony the Tiger is ready to steal your heart—and your couch space. Don’t miss out on adopting this grrrreat little guy! March 15, 2025, 3:55 am
