Story
~Adoptable Bella~ Bella is a 3 year old girl who loves to play ball and spend time with her favorite people. She spent over a year in the shelter before we stepped up to rescue her. Because of the time spent in the shelter as well as her unknown past, she came into rescue as a 60-pound bouncy girl without any manners or training. Bella spent a month with a professional trainer and has been with her foster working hard on the skills learned. She can be excitable and greets new people with a loud, deep bark which can be intimidating to some. Bella has made so much progress while in rescue, but needs an adopter who is committed to continuing her training with leash walking and appropriately greeting new people. Bella does fine with other dogs when properly introduced slowly, but needs someone who will give her time to settle in and slowly acclimate to her new surroundings. Bella is looking for a patient, consistent adopter who will help her continue to build confidence and continue her training. She is very food motivated and will do almost anything for a treat. She has a lot of love to give and we are really hoping to find her a forever home soon! It may be easy for some to pass Bella by because she needs continued training and slower introductions, but if you give Bella a true, fair chance, you’ll find she would love nothing more than to be your best little buddy who is very eager to please. Please complete the application below if you are interested in getting approved to meet her! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped for an adoption fee of $325.  https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-applicationAugust 17, 2024, 4:04 pm

Story
He has been the most wonderful companion for me. I bought him as a friend for my husbands American Bulldog who when my spouse passed and could not stop crying for him. Since then I've almost lost my ability to walk due to a hip needing replaced and losing my health insurance when my job closed down. A car ran thru my home on Thanksgiving day and I've been in temporary housing ever since. I'll be moving in with my son in his small trailer and can't take the dogs. I'm asking if you can help me rehome Kobe before that happens. He's potty trained and used to family life. Please call Kathy at 302-983-1761August 19, 2024, 8:52 am

Story
Age:6 Weight: 95 Location: Perkasie, PA Nicknames: Hondo Mondo, Da Big Bubba Good with other dogs?: Yes, Other:. Hondo is mostly, indifferent to other dogs. He will want to sniff and check another dog out in the home but will avoid a confrontational dog. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? OK for kids over: 10-12 Activity Preference: Will go with the flow IQ: Average Hondo's favorite things: Hondo really does like to go for walks. One or two a day would be sufficient, and he generally tops out at about 1 mile. One of his favorite things are blankets. He will play, nibble, or just cuddle up with them. Hondo is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, following commands Ideal home: quiet environment, a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with people, socialization with dogs Health issues: Hondo does seem to have some seasonal allergies. But nothing extensive. Meet Hondo Hondo is a wonderfully adorable big-headed bulldog. Unfortunately, he was abused by a man and that overall has affected his trust in men. So, he definitely prefers a female human companion. Hondo needs some time to adjust to new surrounds, but once that adjustment time is over…hold on to your hats! This boy follows his foster mom around like it's his job. Hondo and his foster mom like to go for walks together, they both totally prefer the cooler weather! Once done for the night they cuddle on the couch together. Hondo knows that he's not allowed to be crazy on the couch though, otherwise he gets kicked off and has to lay on the floor. Hondo sits nicely for treats and any food you are willing to part with. He goes into a crate with ease, sometimes preferring to lay in there to chew on a bone while foster mom cooks dinner. He will let you know that he has to go outside, sometimes a little too much. He has no idea how big he is, which is why older children would be better suited. Hondo is ALL BULLDOG. Goofy, silly, stubborn, hardheaded (figuratively and literally) but most importantly, loving. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Dog: Smelvin Age: 1 year Weight: 40 lbs Location: Yardley, PA Nicknames: Mr. Good Boy Good with other dogs?: Yes.Smelvin is submissive and has done well with every dog he has been introduced to. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow, Champion couch potato IQ: Average Smelvin's favorite things: Other dogs, a cozy bed, peanut butter, face and belly rubs, his crate Smelvin is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, playing Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day Training Needs: Health issues: Meet Smelvin Smelvin is approximately 1yo. He is very shy which we suspect is because he was abused in his past. However, he is one of the sweetest dogs ever. Smelvin was rescued with terrible mange (hence the name), but he is now healthy. Smelvin is house trained and he loves his crate. He does well in his crate when left alone or sleeping at night. He also does well when sleeping in his bed on the floor next to his foster parents’ bed. He is currently being fostered with a young female Boston Terrier. They like to play together, but he also loves to just chill and sleep. He would be great with another dog(s) in the house, as it seems to give him more confidence. He is very submissive and gets along with every dog he meets. Smelvin also loves toys! He didn’t seem to know what toys were, but after being introduced to them, he loves them and will keep himself entertained for quite a while. Smelvin is a calm, quiet, easy boy. He loves his face and belly rubbed, but he would also be just as happy laying by your feet while you watch TV. He has such a good demeanor – we have poked and prodded him quite a bit – cleaned his ears and paws, given him a bath, picked him up and carried him, and taken him for long car rides. He does not bat an eye. Smelvin will need patience early on until he warms up to you and knows that he can trust you. But once he trusts you, we have no doubt he will love you forever. Smelvin is very low maintenance – he just likes to be around his people and know that he is safe. For how shy/scared he is at first, he could not be ANY sweeter. We think he is a very special boy.     PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply!
