Story
Meet Cairo! Cairo is an energetic, happy one year old American Bulldog/Pitbull mix. He is ready to say bon voyage and find his forever family! He is a dog's dog and does great with medium to larger dogs - he sometimes thinks he is a lap dog and forgets he's a big boy. His happy place is outdoors, although he is not a huge fan of being wet or cold. He also loves to play with durable toys and bones. He is goofy, silly, and full of energy, but also requires a nightly snuggle session on the couch with his humans before bed. He really is just a big, mushy love bug who just wants to give and get love from humans and dogs. He is potty trained and crate trained, and is working on walking calmly while on a leash - he does better when wearing a harness. Cairo is kid and dog friendly. He currently lives with a 60 pound dog and two children. He adores kids but sometimes doesn't realize his size so we reccommend kids who around 5 or older. Like many Michiganders, Cairo does have some seasonal allergies, but that doesn't slow him down! His allergies are super easy to handle, with a Zytrec added to his breakfast in the spring and fall, and an allergy safe food. Cairo's ideal home is an active family. He would prefer a big dog who will roughhouse with him, but he can be an only dog with someone who is active and home more often than not - a work from home, stay at home, or retiree situation. Kids would be a great addition too! Adoption is $275. Cairo has completed all medical, including neuter, deworming, vaccines, and microchip. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Kimchi came to us when his owner went to prison. He was a very confused boy at first, but is now excited and fun! Kimchi loves toys! Stuffies, things with squeekers, chew bones, he loves them all! Kimchi would love an intimate household, with one or two people he could shower with love. He does well in his kennel, and loves yard time. Kimchi is pretty potty trained. Kimchi is available as a foster-to-adopt placement, and his adoption fee is also sponsored! Apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Bulma is a 3 year old, 70 lb American Bulldog. She is a super happy, very friendly dog. Her friendliness, however, doesn’t necessarily extend to other dogs. She can be a bit of a bully when she thinks she can get away with it. Bulma was raised outside with her brother (who was recently adopted). They had food, water, shelter and love from their human, but they were never allowed to live inside. When their mom became too ill to continue to care for them, she, regrettably, surrendered them to rescue. Bulma is affectionate and energetic. Her foster recommends she be placed in a home where she can be an only dog and get plenty of exercise. Her original human reported that she also had a cat that frequently spent time behind the fence with the dogs, but this hasn’t been tested and verified since entering rescue. Bulma hasn’t been tested with children but we have no reason to think she would be anything other than her sweet, friendly self. She might be a little much for very small children, since she is not bashful about showing love (just like every other Bulldog we’ve ever met). She needs some training to learn her doggy manners and she is very eager to please. She will be tons of fun, laughs, and kisses on day one! Story
Brohm has a cleft palate, but it doesn't slow him down, he can do very well self-feeding with the right sized pellets but may need extra attention if you give him treats. Brohm loves just about everyone. He thinks he's a lap dog and loves to give kisses. Good with cats and lizards. He can be snappy with little kids and dominant men. But you will know right off the bat with him. Loves women dominant and not. He has a very different bark for things or people he doesn't know. It’s a scream bark. If you put out a decoration he has never seen or didn't see you put it out he scream barks at it. Till you show him it's okay and you're okay. I can't say honestly how he is with men, woman, strangers, and children. It honestlydepends on them and you. He will pick up on your energy very quickly.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi! My name is Nash, and LDDR is helping me to become the BEST boy that I can be. I love cuddles, and absolutely believe that I should be a lap dog. I love to cuddle in bed, on the couch, when you nap - really, it’s one of my favorite things to do! I like to lay my head on top of yours and get as close as possible. I am part dog, part weighted blanket! I also love to play with my doggy friends! I love having playdates with other energetic dogs. My BFF is a dominant female German shepherd, and I let her take the lead. I am not submissive, but calm and collected when interacting with other dogs. I even live with a Chihuahua, a very mean one, who sometimes tries to bite or be mean to me - and I don’t even growl back! I am nice to other dogs through the fence and rarely bark. Overall, I’d love to live with another playful doggy friend, and can live with small doggies with slow introductions. I lived with cats when I was younger and would sometimes chase them, but I’ve been neutered and *matured* since then. I spent over a year in a shelter-like boarding facility, which was not good for my mental health. I am now in a foster home, have been neutered, and am taking some SSRI’s to help with all of these changes. Medication can be used to help dogs during difficult transitions or in training, but may be used lifelong depending on the vet’s opinion. I have reduced my dosage since moving in with my foster mom and my doggy friends. I hope you’d be willing to meet me and learn more! You can come for a playdate and see how good of a boy I am in person! As I was a return to LDDR, the rescue will even pay for me to go do training sessions with my new adopted, as they want me to find my FUREVER home. They really love me a lot. -Nash Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 26, 2025, 5:12 pm
