Story
Hi my name is Duke! I am a good boy and I am looking for an active owner willing to offer training and exercise, but in return I can offer unconditional love and years of happiness. I do have some big feelings about some things in this world and tend to express this by reacting with barking and may be a bit too much for some families. I will need to continue my training and HSHV offers classes for dogs like me! Visit www.hshv.org for more information. Duke is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Peaches: Your New Best Friend! Are you ready to add a splash of sweetness to your life? Meet Peaches, a lovable French Bulldog mix with a dash of bully charm. This petite, playful girl may be on the smaller side, but her heart is as big as her personality! Peaches is an affectionate bundle of joy who adores everyone she meets. Whether it’s playing with other dogs or snuggling up to people, she’s always up for some fun and love. Despite her playful nature, Peaches has a bit of a challenge to overcome. She needs surgery to address some issues with her back legs, but don’t let that deter you—she’s a trooper and her vibrant spirit shines through! Peaches was found roaming the streets of River Rouge, but her days of wandering are over. She’s now in a loving foster home where she’s been thriving, though she can be a bit of a puller on the leash—no surprise there, given her adventurous past. With a bit of patience and training, Peaches will be a wonderful walking companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving dog who will bring endless joy and warmth to your home, Peaches is the one for you. Apply to meet her and see if this delightful girl could be the perfect addition to your family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 11, 2024, 9:25 pm

Story
Give a very warm welcome to the one, the only, Maximilian! Maximilian is a sweet but sensitive guy who struggled a bit when trying to adjust to the hustle and bustle of shelter life, but with some words of encouragement, and some tasty treats, Max was able to show off his personality. He will need a family who can take things slow with him and allow him extra time to acclimate to his new home. Once you have made friends with Max you are sure to have a friend for a life. Max enjoys spending time with his people and being petted but likes to be handled on his terms. He would do best in a home with older children who will respect his boundaries and allow him space when needed. One of Max's favorite things to do is play with toys, especially ones that squeak. He would be thrilled if his new family could offer him lots of toys so he can keep himself occupied all day long. Max also enjoyed playtime with other dogs at the shelter and may like a doggie friend in his new home as well. Does Maximilian sound like the one for you? Stop in and meet with him today!Maximilian's ideal home:- Children 10 years and older, must meet children- Lived with cats in his previous home

Story
Searching for a chonky house hippo that is just as sweet as her name? Meet Cinnabun, a beautiful lower energy gal looking for her forever home! Here’s some pawsome things about her. 🍭I’m a pretty chill laid back pup that’s happy to snooze the day away on my bed, couch or crate. I would also LOVE a fenced in yard to zoom around in! 🍦I love snuggles & belly rubs. I’m very food motivated & know some basic commands. 🍭I love my 25# foster fur sister & kids are pretty great too. I met a baby & kissed his feet. 🍦I’m doing good on house training with consistency & routine. 🍭I love chewing bones & playing with my toys. Walks are pretty fun too! I am strong on leash. I do have a few special requirements such as prescription diet & stool softener daily. If you’re looking for a quiet gentle gal with just the right amount of spunk that wants nothing but love, food & toys then apply to meet me! Love, Cinnabun
