Meet Jovi (aka "Meatball")
A family dog who LOVES people
While the rescue may have called him Jovi from an 80's band litter, we know him better as Meatball. He is as lazy as can be and sports a huge smile and an even temperament. He is content to lounge around all day and night. Meatball is house-trained and a perfect gentleman, fully trusted to warm the couch or your bed while you are out at work or off running errands.
Like the name Meatball, he loves food but will not beg or counter-surf. This big boy takes treats gently and graciously when offered. He knows sit and shake for commands but really doesn't need any discipline at all.
Meatball is a big-hearted canine that loves a good belly rub. He goes right from sit to a roll on his back in hopes that you will indulge his request. If you stop too soon he may nudge your hand for more but will not be a pest about it either.
if you really want to win over his heart, join him on the couch for snuggling and a movie. He will move wherever you'd like him too although his favorite place is with his head on your lap.
He's very gentle in all things, a big-hearted canine who loves a good belly rub or a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood. He will stop to smell the flowers, and the bushes, and the mailboxes - sniffing every spot along the way and making new human friends. The occasional rabbit or cat will catch his attention but even then he is very well behaved. He likes seeing other dogs on walks, but should be the only-dog in his furever home. Also no cats for him.
Meatball loves to go for car rides and wants to put his big block head out the window to smile at everyone. He is always the most popular in stores and at the roadside cafés when we stop for lunch. He seeks out anyone who will pet him and particulary loves making children smile with his kisses. He just loves people. We've taken him to outdoor concerts, restaurants, prom pictures and much more. Tractor Supply is a favorite trip for treats.
In the mornings, he will sleep for as long as you want! You want to lie in bed for an hour after waking up? He’s right there with you, stretching and being lazy. No early morning wake up calls needed for this boy! In the evenings, he would like to join you on the couch for television or a good book. Wherever his furry beanbag goes, he will happily accomodate.
Imagine the joy of having this sweet boy showering you and your family with unconditional love, sharing lazy afternoons and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. He spent 5 years with his prior family and really thrives in a home environment. This happy good boy is shared between a few foster homes due to volunteer travel schedules but all will say that he is the easiest dog by far. Let's find him the perfect forever home where he can bring as much joy to his new family as he does to our foster volunteers.
