Story
Ralph was abandoned as a pup, found by a friend of my grandson and kept by the friend in his room temporarily. My grandson stepped in and said his mother, my daughter, would take him, which she did, and kept him with her through thick and thin until she could no longer take care of him. She is homeless and that is why Ralph ended up at an animal shelter that could not offer him a place to stay; there was no room for him, they were filled to capacity and I was told in no uncertain terms that I must pick him up. As you can see from his photos, he is a very handsome fellow. He is also healthy, strong and usually a perfect gentleman, except when it comes to cats, one of which lives in the house. There is no fence around the house’s yard, which means I have to walk him 3-4 times a day. I am 74 years old and not up for the task, but someone younger and more resilient than me could give ralph the loving permanent family he deserves! I WILL ASSUME NEUTER SURGERY AND VACS COST

Story
Dodge is an effusive, friendly dude, ready to make fast friends. He cuts a handsome figure, doesn't he?! He will enjoy an active household that can give him plenty of exercise and that has some dog experience, as he needs to learn some manners. Dodge has a propensity to jump and get humpy when he's excited, so he needs to learn how to master his baser impulses. He is pretty intense with other dogs and showed no playful behavior. He will likely try to hump other dogs, which will likely attract a negative response from the other dog. He would be best as the only animal in the household.*** Dodge is currently in a boarding kennel, NOT in the shelter. If you would like to meet Dodge, please complete the adoption application and a staff member will reach out to you to schedule an introduction as we'll arrange to bring him back to the shelter for a meet and greet. ***If you are interested in meeting Dodge, please complete our adoption questionnaire and a shelter team member will reach out to schedule an introduction. https://hamiltonmcnj.seamlessdocs.com/f/AdoptionApplicationHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Sheba is an energetic, playful gal, ready for fun and games. She is exuberant and high energy and will benefit from an active family that can take her on hikes and excursions that will sap some of her energy. She is instantly friendly when greeting new people, jumping up for attention and pets. She would benefit from some training so that she learns how to greet people more politely. Sheba would do best in a home where she is the only pet.If you are interested in meeting Sheba, please complete our online adoption questionnaire and a shelter team member will reach out to you to schedule an introduction. https://hamiltonmcnj.seamlessdocs.com/f/AdoptionApplicationHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Story
With the help of a few dedicated volunteers and staff, we've learned that Stella is a lot of fun, will immediately climb into your lap if you sit with her. She is well-behaved but does have a lot of puppy energy and curiosity. She's a little insecure and would benefit from training and confidence building. Stella has some behavior concerns that would need an experienced handler to provide training so that Stella may better learn to trust people and behave appropriately around new people. Stella is NOT dog friendly and needs a home without other pets. If you are interested in meeting Stella, please complete our adoption questionnaire and a shelter team member will reach out to schedule an introduction. https://hamiltonmcnj.seamlessdocs.com/f/AdoptionApplicationHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. 2-1/2 year old white, lovable female Pit Bull available. Wants to be hugged all the time. Scratch her belly and you will have a friend for life. Well trained, uses a regular collar and leash, no choker. Gets along well with the entire family, including another dog, a female Akita. Great guard dog—barks when either a car/truck/person is coming down the driveway. Friendly to visitors. Loves playing with toys of all types: hard and soft. She will vigorously chew soft toys fairly rapidly. Her toys need to be clearly defined, keeping other soft items away from her. Loves to play tug-of-war—will growl from happiness and excitement when someone plays tug-of-war with her.

Story
Larry our hugger! If you’re ever feeling lonely, and you need a shoulder to cry on, Larry is your boy. He loves to give hugs and will put his paws and little legs around your neck and his head right into your shoulder and just make everything better. Larry is a 1.5 year old handsome boy that is just all around perfect. Between his hugging and his love for cuddling, he is a doggy that you will never be able to get enough of. He has more love to give than most humans. This sweet boy was left in a makeshift chicken pen when his owners moved. There was no food, no water and minimal shelter. His owners left him and his brothers to fend for themselves. The neighbors would feed them as much as they could, but nothing was steady or guaranteed. They were so skinny when a good Samaritan got word of the situation and went out there to check on them. All 3 brothers were so ecstatic to see humans. Larry loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with other dogs or without them. He loves to play and run around the yard – he will share his toys even if the other dog(s) don’t ask him to. He is generous with how caring he is, even with other dogs. While he loves to play, he is a perfect balance of active and mellow. He is just as happy going on a walk or running around the yard as he is lying down inside, sunbathing or just relaxing anywhere that he deems worthy. Larry loves to go on car rides! He is house and crate trained. Larry is currently in boarding, but he had been in a foster home where he was loving the home life and being a house doggy. Larry would do great with children as he is just an all-around awesome boy. He is playful, but gentle, smart, loving, loyal, kind, and perfect. Larry is neutered, heart worm negative, current on rabies vaccine, bordatella vaccine, parvo/distemper vaccine, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed and microchipped. He will be issued a health certificate from a veterinarian prior to transport that gives him a clean bill of health. Larry is located in Texas and available for transport once adopted – He is listed in locations the transports can go to. We do go over different transport options with all applicants.
