Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Emmie came to us about ready to have babies.  She was living with someone in a van for 5 months before we took her in.  With a ton of heartache, and several ER visits, none of her 14 huge babies survived.  They had a great dane daddy. We knew she was thin but once all the babies were out of her, we discovered that she was completely emaciated!  It's now time for Emmie to be someone's beloved girl for the rest of her life!  She is affectionate, lovable, good energy, loves to play fetch! She's quiet and easy in a crate while in foster care.   Here's the biggie, she cannot eat any kibble at all, nor does she drink water.  We do not know why.  We originally fed her forms of raw diet (dehydrated, frozen etc) but have her on canned food and she's doing great.  When we tried to add the smallest amount of kibble to these diets, she got screaming diarrhea, so we quit trying to introduce it.  She gets 2 cans of Natures Domain dog food a day now and is the perfect picture of health.  We understand that she's always been an only pet so we want that for her future.   As far as her dog social skills, she's been unreactive to any dogs on the other side of a fence, crate on a walk.  We were told she's better with males than females Her new family must be homeowners with a securely fenced yard, no exceptions.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2024, 4:22 pm

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.`Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might… have the wish I wish tonight. I wish YOU would adopt ME!`This sweet, playful pup is ready to brighten someone’s life! Starlight is an affectionate, active teenager who loves nothing more than playing tug, fetching tennis balls, and soaking up belly rubs from her favorite humans. She’s eager to please, fully potty trained, and making great progress with crate training and basic commands like sit and down.Starlight is very food-motivated, making her a quick learner—she’s already improving her leash manners and impulse control at doorways. While she’s still figuring out her feelings about other dogs, she’s showing great progress in checking in with her foster on walks.Because she’s fascinated by small critters, a home without cats would be best for this enthusiastic girl. She’d love access to a yard but does just fine borrowing friends’ fenced spaces or visiting SniffSpots. Most of all, she wants a patient, loving adopter who will continue helping her build confidence. Her foster says Starlight is one of the sweetest pups she’s ever met—full of love, snuggles, and playful energy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly, Starlight just might be your perfect match! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Story
Piggy is a loving pup with a big personality and tons of potential! This sweet boy enjoys the great outdoors, especially long walks in the woods where he can take in all the sights and smells. When he`s not out exploring nature, you can find him curled up on the couch for cozy morning or bedtime snuggles.Piggy is a talker and loves to make his presence known with lots of adorable `Awoooos`! He also has a quirky snorting habit when playing with toys or winding down for a nap.Piggy loves to stay active and play, especially tug-of-war, chasing after balls (though he’s more into the chase than the fetch), and keep-away games. He’s also a fan of indestructible chew toys and will happily entertain himself with them for hours! He’s always watching, too – especially when you’re cooking or cleaning, hoping for a dropped ingredient or a tasty treat! This boy is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is potty trained. He thrives on playtime and is quick to learn, making him the perfect candidate for training games. While he’s friendly and outgoing, he’s still learning to manage his excitement, especially when meeting new people – guidance with his jumping and overstimulation will help him shine even more!Piggy is super smart and ready to be your fun-loving, active best friend. If you’re ready to keep up with Piggy’s energy and love, he can’t wait to meet you!The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Story
When I first met my foster family at the shelter, I was a little shy. I needed treats and patience to come out of my shell, but the moment I hopped in the car, all I wanted was cuddles! Now that I’ve settled in, I love snuggling up with my humans—whether it’s on the couch or in bed, I’ll always find a way to be as close as possible.I’ve made lots of new friends (both people and dogs) and am always happy to meet anyone willing to give me some love. When I have energy, I enjoy playing with balls and stuffed toys, but my favorite thing might just be curling up next to you for a cozy nap.I’m still learning about the big world, and sometimes unfamiliar situations make me pause. But with gentle encouragement, I find my confidence quickly. One thing you should know about me: I’m super smart! I love food puzzles and figure them out in no time. If you’re looking for a cuddly, clever, and loving companion, I’d love to meet you!The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
He is a very loving and happy dog. I got him as a puppy from someone who was unable to care for him, and thought I would be able to keep him. My current situation just doesn’t allow me to give him everything he needs to have a good life. With proper training and time he will be a wonderful companion to someone. Prior to living with us he was in a home with a lot of bigger dogs. I have attempted to train and work with him inconsistently to remedy some of his negative behaviors. We have made small improvements but still have a long way to go. He is house trained and kennel trained. He loves attention from people, chewing his toys, running around in our small back yard, and getting treats. I have had some experience being walked on a leash and does well. He has been around another small older dog and can be kind of rough when playing with others, be it people or other dogs. Ideally he will be in a home with two adults that can give him lots of time and attention.
