Hi there! My name is Duke and I am ready to find my new forever home!I`m a busy boy with a lot of energy! I`m very active and would enjoy a lifestyle with a lot of time outdoors exercising. I`m extremely food motivated and pretty smart too so teaching me new tricks and manners should be a breeze. I can be a bit jumpy so I might overwhelmed small children or people without much dog experience. I weigh 51lbs and am considered a large breed dog. My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Hello! My name is Lyka. I came to RASKC originally as a stray. I was adopted four months ago but recently returned due to my adopter moving. I am a ball of energy and a barrel of monkeys! I love to go, go, go and will appreciate a family that has the time and patience for a very active dog. Even though I`m a year old I still behave a lot like a puppy and am working on my manners. I previously lived in an adult only home and did well. I have not had much exposure to kids but my exurberant nature means I am most likely to succeed if the children are older and dog-savvy. I have been to playgroup while at RASKC and seem to enjoy the company of other large, respectful dogs. My playstyle is more on the dainty side and I prefer dogs who want to run around together rather than roughhouse. I am 68lbs and considered a large breed dog dog. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Hello! My name is Wishbone. I came to RASKC as a stray and now I`m ready to find a new home! I`m a sweet but low key boy who needs time to get to know people before I get affectionate. Nothing is known about my history but my behavior suggests I may not have been well socialized. This means that everyday experiences may frighten me more than the average pup. I will need a home that understands my shyness and is willing to go at my pace. I`ve been very loving with the staff members who frequent my kennel and spend time with me - I like to put my big head in their lap and get those sweet, sweet ear rubs. I love chicken jerky treats and will be the bravest boy possible if it means I`ll get one! I keep a clean kennel and am polite for leashing. Due to my size and fearfulness, I will be most likely to succeed in a teen/adult only home where my boundaries can be easily understood and respected. I weigh 60lbs and am considered a large breed dog. I am currently underweight, my new family will want to work with their vet to help me get to the proper size. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Hi! My name is Gibson and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good samaritan on February 26, 2025.I weigh 70 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I love to play fetch and walk pretty nicely on leash! My caregivers mention that I appear to be potty-trained.I can be shy and unsure of new things and people at first. I am a huge foodie though, so I can be won over with treats. I take treats gently and will happily `sit` and `shake` for them :)Once I warm up to you I am a sweet guy!The good samaritan said that I was very excited when I met the other dogs in the home! I have done a playgroup or two and my caregivers would put in the the `dainty` group. When meeting dogs in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction.I have been at RASKC for about a month and quite anxious here. A wonderful volunteer took me for a long outing and noticed that I LOVE car rides. I would do great as a co-pilot! If you have been looking for a companion for roadtrips I could be your guy.I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Hi! My name is Franklin and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on 02/27/2025.I weigh 63lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home!I am an independent dog who likes to do my own thing!I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. I require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn. I am not potty trained or crate training yet and teaching me those skills will help tremendously on a road to success! If you and your family are ready to fall in love my awesome self, please check me out!!My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other dogs of similar size. When meeting dogs in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction.I`m a Playgroup Pal! Ask the staff today about my interactions with other dogs at the shelter in our Playgroups.

Story
Hello there, My name is Akua and I am currently at the RASKC shelter awaiting a new forever home. I was surrendered to the shelter by my previous owners. My owners said that I was an amazing boy that was potty trained and did well around other dogs. This was a really hard thing to for them to do, so maybe read about me a bit and see if I might fit your family.I weigh 60 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to `sit`, `stay`, `come`, `down` and `shake`.Once I get to know you I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home or spend hours playing in the yard.I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.My previous owners stated that I seem to do well with other large dogs. When meeting dogs in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction.I would do best in a home with older children. I am not the biggest fan of young children as they tend to scare me with their sudden movements, so a family with children 10 and up who are dog savy would be great to match my energy.I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Rescue animals require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn.I have been known to resource guard, meaning that I am displaying behavior that is intended to convince other dogs or humans to stay away from a particular treasure or `resource.` The resource that I tend to guard is food. If you take me home you will benefit from in home guidance to help to manage and improve this behavior. I don`t do this so much with treats, just my meals. So having my meals seperate from everyone and other animals would be the best thing for me so that I feel safe when eating. You can visit me at the Pet Adoption Center on weekdays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032.Come and visit me today, I`d love to go home with you!
