Story
Walker is such a stunning boy! He has a nice temperament to match too! Walker came to us from California, just another stray puppy needing a soft spot to land and a better chance at a happy home. - Approximate date of birth 8/13/24 and he is 7 months old, 42 pounds - We are not sure on breed mix but he's so unique with all his spots! - Fenced yard preferred only because he is used to going potty freely in a backyard and we have not seen him potty on leash readily. - Great with other dogs and would love another dog friend in his future home. He loves to pal around and follow the lead of his foster sister who is a larger mixed breed dog. He also enjoys sharing toys with other dogs and playing a game of tug with them. - Cats unknown - Gentle kids ages 6+ ok - Crate trained, goes in on his own and has been crated for up to 8 hours at a time. No potty accidents in the crate, no bed shredding and no escaping the crate. - Walks nice on leash although he is a little timid at times and likely has not been on many walks in his lifetime. Walks would be a nice way to boost his confidence further. - No leash reactivity or separation anxiety noted - Potty trained and has only had one potty accident in the first day in foster - Sweet, slightly shy boy who enjoys snuggles after he gets to know you a little better - Very loving, kind pup who is eager to fit into someone's home that will continue his socialization, exposure and training Walker is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $300 adoption fee Fostered in Beaverton, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT WALKER ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
my wife and I rescued Mako from Felon California After two days of adopting him he was in the intensive care unit because he had Parvo and he was the toughest little pup and was able to beat it and join our family. Mako is most deffininitly the most loving and affectionate dog that we have ever met he absolutely loves being loved all he wants to do is be hugged and laid with. he also loves just sitting outside all day watching the world go on around. some of his favorite actives is running and playing fetch this dog can run all day long and then some. it truly is breaking my heart to be letting him go.unfortunately he has had two incidents with our older smaller dog where mako attacked him unprovoked we cannot have it happen a third time he loves his little brother so much. he has played with our small dog many times very gently and loves to lay as close as he can with him which is why it was so strange he has also played with friends dogs so much with no issues.

Story
I'm a funny, independent thinker with a serious case of "look-at-me" syndrome. My foster mom thinks Im a snack, but my selfies are more like a main course. At three, I've got the wisdom of an ancient dog and the energy of a caffeinated squirrel. I'm part Aussie, part Heeler, which means Im basically a tiny tornado with a to-do list. I love structure - it's like adulting but with treats. Dogs are cool, kids are fun, but cats and I? Oil and water. Or maybe more like cats and dogs - we just don't mix. Looking for my human sidekick. Must be able to keep up with my endless supply of charm and puppy dog eyes. Think you're the one? Let's give this whole "best friends" thing a shot. www.muttsandmissfits.org to meet adorable rescue pups and support a great cause.

Story
Kiwi, our 2 and 1/2 year old cattle dog mix, was adopted through Stumptown Strays when she was just a puppy. She and her littermates were found stray and needed help. Sadly, Kiwi needs our help again. Her adoptive family will no longer keep her and we desperately need to find Kiwi a forever home. Kiwi's current family is willing to hang on to her for a little bit while we begin the search. Here is what they have to say about Kiwi: "While we adore her, the arrival of a new baby has made it difficult to give Kiwi the time and attention she deserves. We’re seeking a home where she can thrive—ideally one without young children. Additionally, Kiwi has shown leash reactivity on walks when encountering unfamiliar dogs and has occasionally exhibited nipping behavior. While we’ve worked with a trainer and seen some progress, we unfortunately don’t have the time to dedicate fully to her ongoing needs. She would do best with an experienced dog owner who is familiar with managing reactivity and is willing to continue her training. In the home, Kiwi is incredibly loving and thrives on affection. She adores snuggles and will happily soak up all the pets and attention you can offer.” Kiwi really struggled with seeing other dogs while she was on leash. According to her family, Kiwi once redirected her frustration and nipped the male owner's pants (did not make skin contact). Because of this, they are nervous to have her around their baby. When the family first contacted us, we reached out to a behaviorist right away and got Kiwi started on Prozac. Since starting the medication, Kiwi is much more relaxed. This is a medication that should be continued for at least the next 7 months; it is very affordable. Kiwi currently lives with a cat that she loves and another dog. Kiwi needs slow introductions to dogs and does best with non-reactive ones. We are not asking for any adoption fee for Kiwi. We just really want her to have a chance for success. Her adoption will come with the help of a boarded behaviorist. Think yours is the home for Kiwi? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
