Story
Are you ready to be the hero John Wayne has been waiting for? This adorable 4-monthold pup is capturing hearts with his speckled coat and soulful eyes. Weighing in at 25 lbs, he's on track to become a sturdy medium-sized dog of around 40-45 lbs. His unique look hints at Heeler and Cattle Dog heritage, though his exact breed awaits confirmation via DNA test. After a brief stay at the shelter, John has flourished in a loving foster home for over a month, thriving on the affection and care provided. John Wayne embodies the essence of puppyhood-brimming with playful energy and a healthy dose of curiosity. Although he may be a bit shy, don't mistake his reserve for timidity; it's simply his way of asking for a gentle, understanding touch. With a solid start in his foster home, he's ready to flourish under the care of an owner who can provide continuous guidance in obedience, socialization, and potty training - all essential for his growth into a well-rounded dog. He's had positive interactions with children at adoption events, making him a great candidate for families aware of the playful antics of teething puppies. He's also shown to be an excellent friend to other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion to boost his confidence Regular potty breaks and short walks are essential for John Wayne as he transitions into a new life. A home with a yard would be ideal, where he can explore and play to his heart's content. His foster notes that he's incredibly sweet and cuddly, brimming with potential and ready to share his love with a dedicated owner If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who may start off shy but will undoubtedly become a devoted friend with a bit of love and patience, John Wayne is eagerly waiting to join your family. Let this adorable pup gallop into your life and heart!

Story
River is a sweet and strong minded red heeler. We found river down in a river bank near a texas state park. she came up to us and wanted to play with our other dog which is coincidentally a red heeler as well. we took her home and got her cleaned up. she was in pretty bad shape being that she was living in the woods. she was covered in fleas and ticks. she had cactus thorns all over her and a broken tail. yet she was patient and let us pick every thing off of her. she enjoys quick paced jogs and adventurous hikes. River is from the wilderness and will want to chase after other wild life, redirection is best. River, is simply a loyal dog and is willing to do anything with you and for you. unfortunately we cannot keep river due to us expanding our family. our babies have severe allergies to pets. also I cannot focus on giving river the time, attention and love she needs. please feel free to ask any questions. I really would like to know River is going to a great home.

Story
My family has come to the difficult decision that we need to re-home our dog, Shea. While she has been with us since 2017, now with 2 small children in the home (2.5 yo and 5mo), it's clear that she is becoming increasingly uncomfortable, especially with the unpredictability of a toddler. We're looking to find her a home with no small children where she can be more at ease. A little bit about her. She is a cattle dog mix, approximately 7.5 years old. She is generally well trained and we invested in a board and train program for her when she was 1.5 to help with her anxiety, where she learned basic commands, how to walk in heel, and the "place" command to help her wait and calm down her excitement. She LOVES people, loves to play, great on walks, but can be a bit skittish and quite submissive around new dogs and small children. We have managed this by keeping distance, but it's become harder to do with a high energy toddler and trying to meet Shea's needs as well.

Story
Are you looking for a fun loving, goofy and energetic puppy? If so, Huey is your boy! He’s been storing up his energy after some time spent in the ICU with a broken leg and now that he’s feeling better he can’t wait to be the silly pup that he is! Healing from an injury is hard work for a puppy so he hasn’t really been able to focus on things like leash manners so he’s hoping someone can help him clean those up! Huey absolutely loves to play with toys, in fact if you give him one he will often toss it around in the air and have himself a ball! (Just be sure to take it away after because being a puppy sometimes it can be hard to tell food from toys)! Huey would love a family that is willing to help him learn and finally let him show off his goofy personality outside of the shelter and in a loving and committed home. If he sounds like a pup you would like to meet, come on down, he’s waiting for you!
