Sandy loves to play and run around outside and go on long walks. She's a velcro dog who also loves to relax and follow you around the house. She's been around big and small dogs. Has always been gentle and plays with our kids. We used to take her off leash hiking, is a fast learner when it comes to training, and she loves meeting new people.

Story
Rocky’s here ready to rock your world! In his own kind and gentle way that is. He’s very sweet and friendly and has great manners. You can tell he’s used to a home environment because he hops right up into the chairs in our play yard unprompted and sits like such a gentleman. He also already knows how to sit and lay on command for a treat. He loves his treats and always takes them gently from your hand. He’s a good listener – especially when there’s a treat on the line! Rocky is quite attentive and focused when you have a treat for him, but he’s also happy to entertain himself. He’s got a lower energy level and comes across as very easygoing. Rocky is a very good boy on leash. He’s easy to leash up and take out, and walks well without pulling. He does sometimes gently jump up on you, but it’s usually to give you a hug or check out the treat you’re holding. Even when jumping up he’s calm and gentle. He’s all about the pets and ear scratches if you have the time. He’s even been known to allow snoot kisses!

Story
Liberty is full of so much love! She’ll happily share it with everyone she meets. She’s got plenty to go around and has the makings of a real cuddle bug. She’ll happily stay by your side for as long as you’ll pet her. In fact, if you pet her and then stop she’ll nudge you with her paw or give you kisses to remind you that she’s there and waiting. She also LOVES getting her belly rubbed. Liberty is a calm girl with a lower energy level. She’s very polite and gentle too. She walks well on a leash without pulling and seems to already be potty trained. She also already knows how to sit on command.

Story
Spot is a super sweet and friendly Australian Cattle Dog who came into the shelter injured. He had puss and blood coming from what turned out to be a bullet wound on his right shoulder. He couldn`t bear weight on that right front leg, and his walk wasn`t normal on his back legs either. X-Rays show a comminuted fracture of the right scapula and a comminuted fracture of the left femur. More bullets were found in the poor boy too. We’re not sure what life was like for him before coming into our care, but Spot has always been amongst the friendliest and most affectionate of our dogs. He has a “can’t keep me down,” kind of spirit and, being young at heart, was determined to recover so he could play more. Spot got his wish! He went from hobbling around to being a bouncy, bubbly boy. He loves to zoom around and is full of playful energy. He gets around great now and has healed completely! He’s a great leash walker and always takes his treats gently from your hand. He’s got lots of puppyish energy, but he’d prove to be your best friend ever! He did great in a previous foster home around cats, kids, and other dogs. He loved having lots of playmates!

Story
Hi, my name is Rose. I am a playful, happy girl! I get along well with other dogs. I love to play with the other dogs in my foster home. I have also been around cats and did well with the dog savvy cats in my foster home. I love my humans and I am looking to be part of a family. I would love to find a home with kids so we can grow up together. I will do best in an active home that is ready for an adventure, a run or body warmth in bed.   My adoption fee is $350 locally in Houston, TX and can be adopted out of state for $550 (with travel fee and health certificate).  It includes all my age appropriate vaccines, spay and microchip. Story
Puppy kisses, cuddles and playtime are awaiting! Absolutely beautiful baby ready for furever home! Momma Beatrice was rescued from a shelter very pregnant with 16 puppies! That is no place to give birth or raise a family! Houston Collie Rescue saved Momma Bea giving her a safe and comfortable foster home to have her pups and raise them. DNA was performed and Mamma Beatrice is 50% collie and daddy was 100% Australian Cattle Dog. So gorgeous with beautiful coloring and markings. Born 5/6/2024, they are at the perfect age to join a loving family. They are barking, jumping, playing, eating and sleep peacefully. The foster shares that these pups bond very quickly and are very smart. Learned the doggie door on the first try! They are quite confident little pups! They have great recall, are crate trained and “almost” potty trained. These pups would make awesome sporting dogs, such as agility, and have a knack for herding! A fully fenced secure yard and vet check are required. Application required and can be found at www.houstoncollierescue.org
