Story
A Pup Who Knows What She Wants! Meet Audrey Griswold! Audrey Griswold is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Born on October 14, 2024, sweet Audrey Griswold is a young, mottled gold and brown colored puppy (almost brindle on her face) with lighter toes. She is an Australian Kelpie mix, and we estimate she will be a medium size dog when grown.  Audrey Griswold is part of the Christmas Vacation litter, and she traveled with her mom and seven siblings from the Bi-Stone Rescue in Mexia, Texas to find new homes in the PNW area.  Funny, friendly, and curious, Audrey Griswold knows what she wants in life – to be with you! She is a very sweet girl who loves being snuggled up next to her people.  A medium energy puppy, Audrey Griswold loves dogs and people, and she behaves well with even very young children (under 5). Her next favorite thing is playing with all the dogs in her foster home. Audrey Griswold hasn’t met a toy or a game that she doesn’t like. Once she has had her fill of playtime, she adores curling up on the fluffy dog bed in front of the fireplace or snuggling up with you. What could be better? Audrey Griswold is a little puzzled by the snow and rain; she’s not sure at first if she wants to go out in it, but once she does, she’s ready to romp outside and play.  Audrey Griswold is a smart girl who picks up training quickly. She sleeps through the night and is almost potty trained. She has started crate training and is learned to walk on a leash. Audrey has her basic obedience commands done with a treat incentive. Audrey Griswold’s idea home? She seeks someone to love who will love her in return, who will ensure she learns the skills that will make her a happy and well-rounded dog. Audrey would love an active home where she could get lots of play time, adventures and, of course, plenty of attention. Friends of the dog and kid kind would be a bonus for this social girl. Treats and games and warm blankets would be wonderful, too. Does this sound like your home?  Want to meet Audrey Griswold? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters). Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##2228495##

Story
Meet Canelo, a one-year-old Australian Kelpie/Shepherd mix weighing around 50 pounds. Canelo is a friendly boy who is a great medium size. He is at a fantastic age to start his training and will be like a sponge soaking up all of the info. He gets very excited when he sees dogs on leash, but seems like he just really wants to play with them. His finder said he rode well in their car but recommended he goes to a home with no cats as he likes to chase them. This enthusiastic boy can`t wait to go on walks and would love to go on hikes if that is something you are interested in, if not he is cool with running around a backyard instead. Canelo is going to be so much fun for someone. This pet is available for adoption on 1/7/2025 at 4:01 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Nova, a four year old Australian Kelpie mix weighing 58 pounds (although she is quite overweight).Nova`s story is a sad one, she is quite literally the stereotypical case of her owners getting a puppy and no longer wanting her. She came in as a stray and we called the owners on the microchip and were told we had the wrong number. Some people came in who help with the greenway and said the chipped owner had owned the dog for a while and were homeless. When she was told by them that the dog is at YHS she told them that she is fine with that as she left it at the park because she now has puppies that she would rather have. The greenway people said she has been found multiple times by them before being returned to her owner and she is good with dogs of all sizes and even their cats. Nova is so cute; she does a little happy dance when she gets excited in her kennel. She does need to lose weigh in order to stay healthy and live a long life. She is so friendly, loves going for walks and very active even with her size so we think she will lose her weight without issue. This silly lady is treat motivated and keeps us laughing. This pet is available for adoption on 12/24/2024 at 11:49 AM at the Ellensburg Adoption Center. Story
This kind, gentle girl is a 2 year old Australian Kelpie mix, that weighs 30 pounds. Sally is smart, athletic, and on the shy side. She takes her time to warm up to new people, but once she gets to know you, she is very loyal and loving! She is dog friendly, potty trained, crate trained, and does well on a leash. She is food motivated too, and loves her toys! This little beauty would excel at having a job like agility. She is so smart, and loves learning new tricks. Sally is pretty spot on energy-wise for a dog of her mix. She would benefit from someone who wanted to work with her on training and learning some fun new tricks! Sally would make a wonderful walking, hiking, all around adventure buddy! She would love to be someone’s companion and best friend! Maybe your resident dog is wanting a friend? Story
MEET ROCKY, a 1-year-old Australian Kelpie in need of a foster or forever home! Rocky is a very affectionate dog who loves both humans and dogs alike! He weighs only 40 lbs., and is a loving boy. Kelpies are intelligent dogs, believed to have been descended from Border Collies. They love to be stimulated with walks and other activities. Rocky would do best in an active home where his person or people work from home, or are retired, as he loves company. He'd also thrive in a home with another dog, though it's not a necessity. Please email for an application.
