Story
Oakley has been in our family for almost 5 years (adopted her at 8 weeks old), but unfortunately we no longer have the ability to give her the full life she deserves. Shes a high anxiety breed and ultimately under stimulated which is resulting in her having accidents when left alone at home. When exercised well and appropriately stimulated/worked she does great.

Story
Junie, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Junie is a very loving and loyal dog. She is the boss and loves keeping Cooper in line. She likes to go on walks and explore with him. She gets along with other dogs great, but she will growl when she has had her fill. She will not nip or bite. She is a bit more relaxed and laid back than Cooper, but still loves to play around with him. She also is a bit of an attention hog. She will stare through your soul until you acknowledge her. She is very in tune with human emotion and will snuggle with you when you are sad. She’s a very sweet soul. She also may be more human than dog. Cooper, Blue Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Cooper tends to be shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He has a lot of energy and loves playing with Junie going on walks and exploring with her. He LOVES attention. He is a very loving and loyal dog with the silliest personality. I think he may be more human than dog. He gets along with other dogs but does take a minute to acclimate to them. He loves to give kisses (I think he was a lizard in his past life…hahaha). They are a bonded pair. They have grown up together and I would hate to separate them. They are soulmates and I would love for them to stay together. I understand that this is a lot to ask, but they are so worth it! We are having to re-home them due to a move across the country. This means we will be living out of a small camper and traveling all over the southeast. I don’t feel that this is a fair life for my pups to live. They love to run and play and wouldn't get this freedom if they come with us.

Story
Cooper! Cooper is a friendly, outgoing, 8-10 month old, Aussie mix that’s made his way to CO from a small, underfunded shelter in rural Texas. Despite his upbringing, Cooper is happy and playful and see the world with a glass half full. He’s dog friendly, sleeps quietly in his crate at night, and is hard at work on his house-training skills. This is his first time in a home, so he’s learning all the ropes. Coop will make a great addition to an Aussie enthusiast home that enjoys dogs with beauty and brains. Activity and playtime is a must for this friendly boy. Cooper is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/cooper-2/. Story
Cheeto the pocket cheetah dog! Cheeto is the cat’s meow, or should I say the dog’s bark? He’s the perfect pint-sized companion for the Colorado adventure home. Cheeto is great in the car, playful, dog friendly, and approx 20 lbs at 9 months old (and that’s nearly full grown)! He’s got long, skinny legs that make him ideal for mountain hikes and a compact size that makes him easy to bring along nearly anywhere! Cheeto is hard at work in foster care on his house and crate training. He sometimes complains a little in his crate so a home without shared walls and a yard for afternoon zoomies is preferred. Cheeto is low shed, medium energy, and good with kids (he can be a little mouthy when he plays, so dog savvy kids are best). Our best guess on this adorable guys breed is a mini-Aussie/Chihuahua or terrier mix. Cheeto is in foster in Lone Tree, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/cheeto You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Hi my name is Hazel and I am pretty shy, but with the help of my foster mom I am coming out of my shell. I like to go for walks, but in a calm and quiet area. I like cats... but like to chase them. So I should probably be in a house without them. I like other dogs, and being around a confident dog would probably help me gain my own self-confidence. Small kids would probably be too much for me, but older kids that can respect my need for a calm environment, would be just fine with me. Please someone just give me a chance. This animal is in a foster home. If you would like to meet this animal, go to www.souldog.org to fill out an adoption application. When submitting your adoption application make sure to submit a good clear picture of your living room, kitchen, and yard. If you rent, you must provide proof animals are allowed. We will contact references. Once the application is reviewed our adoptions coordinator will send your information to the foster to set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household come for a meet and greet to ensure there are no personality clashes. If you have other dogs in the home and are meeting a dog you must bring them for the meet and greet. Filling out an adoption application does not mean you will be adopting the animal. Doing a meet and greet with one of our animals does not guarantee you are adopting the animal. We will select the family we feel is the best choice for that animal after screening and meeting applicants.
