Hi meet Onyxx! He is 3 years old and is a great family dog. He is potty trained, neutered, great with people and kiddos. He doesnt do well with other dogs, especially small dogs. He would do well in a home with no other dogs and with a back yard to get his energy out. He would do well with an experienced owner who can spend time with him and give him the energy outlet he needs.

Story
Letif has come so far!!! He’s been in foster for 4 years and 3 months. He was a super shy feral little pup when he came in. He’s made so much progress! He loves to have you throw toys in the yard for him, and he sometimes brings it back! He really enjoys having time spent with him, but is a touch shy still. I would say mostly potty trained because he never goes on the inside of his kennel. He is a super happy dog! It looks like he is smiling a lot!! He’s done well with kids.He is a little more shy with men, but I think he would come around pretty quickly! Want a new happy best friend!? Apply to adopt him today on our website www.souldog.org. If you have any questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Hi! I am IQ, and I am currently in a foster home learning how to be the best indoor dog. I grew up living in a kennel outdoors, so I am still figuring out how to fully enjoy the comforts of home and the love of humans. But do not let my shy nature fool you, once I trust you, I will be wagging my tail every time I see you!I absolutely love other dogs and am so gentle with cats too. I would do best in a household with another dog, so I can have a companion to learn from! I have the perfect energy level, playful yet calm. I am discovering how fun it is to be a puppy! I enjoy playing with toys, snuggling, and being close to my humans.I am almost potty trained and walking great on a leash. I am so smart and pick up on things quickly. My fur is incredibly soft, and I am on the smaller side, weighing about 30 pounds. I will be the perfect size when I am fully grown!I cannot wait to find my forever family who will give me the time and love I need to blossom. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, and loving companion, I could be your perfect match! Fill out an application today to meet me! I am currently in a foster home.

Story
My name is Tessa, and I am a 9 year old pure-bred mini Australian Shepherd. I have been with one family for most of my life, but almost 2 years ago one of my humans passed away and my other one couldn't take care of me anymore. I have since been with my new family, but they have little children who make me really anxious and scared. I do best in a calm environment where I am the center of attention. Please no children, unless they are older (12 years +) and know how to be calm around me. I grew up with other pets, and can do well with other dogs, I just need to be slowly introduced. I do love cats and do great with them in the home. I am overall a really sweet girl, and will stick to you like glue once I get to know you! I take anxiety medication currently, and am on a special diet because I am overweight. I am up-to-date on all vaccines and will have a copy of my medical records upon adoption with me.

Story
Miss Kahlua is ready to get the party started! This high energy, compact, Aussie/Spaniel mix comes in at a whopping 35 lbs at only around 2-3 years old. She knows nothing of the concept of personal space, BUT she has a giant brain and is eager to learn and please her peeps. Kahlua LOVES her humans and is a Velcro dog. She’s affectionate and snuggly. Kahlua will do well in an active, adventurous home. She’s dog friendly after a good introduction, however she’s perfectly content being an only dog, as well. Kahlua seems house trained at her foster home and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She’s NOT a fan of staying in her crate during the day while her foster parents work and she will verbally complain about that a bit, so she’s best suited in a home without shared walls. A large yard for games of fetch is more her jam. Kahlua is being fostered in Greeley, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/kahlua/. Story
Ernie has the biggest ear-to-ear smile you’ll ever see! This happy guy has much to smile about, too! Ernie entered MHCR as a transfer from a local CO shelter where he found himself unclaimed after his stray hold. Ernie is a little dude, around 20 lbs, and only a year old. The shelter was a horrifying place to him and exhibited what we, in the dog world, call stranger danger. Due to this behavior, he wasn’t an adoptions candidate for them. So, he came to us in hopes a foster home would be just what he needed. Turns out, it was! Ernie take a beat to warm up to new people, but once he does he’s a very loving, sweet, and affectionate guy. He’s good with dogs and likes to play, but he doesn’t love dogs all up in his business right off the bat. He seems very at ease with kiddos, too! Ernie is crate trained and does well on a leash. His favorite thing is snuggling in blankets and playing with them. He loves to run laps and is quite a high jumper (likely competed in the Olympics in a past life). While it has waned, Ernie does still struggle with stranger danger and will do best in a home patient humans that don’t have a chaotic home with new people in and out. It took him a few days to get used to his foster dad coming and going, but now they’re bffs. He will need a dedicated family that will continue his controlled socialization and acclimation. If you think Ernie could be for you, please apply! Ernie is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ernie/. Hero is the hero we all need! Hero has come such a long way since entering his foster home.  He was very scared and unsure at first, but with some encouragement he has gained a lot of confidence. He is unsure with new people but warms up pretty well and is sure to be your velcro dog once he trusts you. He is a big lover like a teddy bear, he loves to cuddle.  Hero does great walking on a leash and loves to learn new things. He knows how to sit, stay and some oter basic commands, he is a smart boy! Hero is potty trained and crate trained! I have 2 small dogs of my own and he has gotten along with them well, he likes to tease them to get them to play with him and they chase eachother around. He loves to play with toys, tug-o-war is his favorite. He sleeps in his kennel at night like a little angel. Hero is the best boy!   ##1981545##

Story
This sweet, beautiful girl is Ogallala but everyone calls her Olga. She came to Soul Dog in 2021 fearful and feral. Olga is still very fearful, a high-anxiety neurotic dog, but also very sweet and gentle and silly. For the first several months in her long-term foster home, Olga hid in her selected corner and only snuck around at night. Over time, she has gradually blossomed from cowering in the corner to relaxing on the sofa with the pack, greeting the family when they come home, and soliciting affection. Now instead of trying to hide, one of her favorite past-times is shouting out the window at people and dogs outside. Although she has gained a lot of confidence, Olga still has a lot of fears and triggers. She is terrified of people and loud sounds, and anything that sounds like banging. The sounds of roofers or even kids playing basketball will send her running. When she’s frightened or unsure, her instinct is to bolt, then hunker down and hide. She has come an unbelievably long way during her time with her foster and is starting to learn that some people and places aren't so bad. She needs a kind and understanding person to give her the patience, quiet, time, and love that she desperately needs. Since she has grown very comfortable in and accustomed to her foster home after all this time, ideally, she should have a gradual transition to her forever home to ease her fears and separation anxiety.
