Story
Junie, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 35 lbs. Junie is a very loving and loyal dog. She is the boss and loves keeping Cooper in line. She likes to go on walks and explore with him. She gets along with other dogs great, but she will growl when she has had her fill. She will not nip or bite. She is a bit more relaxed and laid back than Cooper, but still loves to play around with him. She also is a bit of an attention hog. She will stare through your soul until you acknowledge her. She is very in tune with human emotion and will snuggle with you when you are sad. She’s a very sweet soul. She also may be more human than dog. Cooper, Blue Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Cooper tends to be shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He has a lot of energy and loves playing with Junie going on walks and exploring with her. He LOVES attention. He is a very loving and loyal dog with the silliest personality. I think he may be more human than dog. He gets along with other dogs but does take a minute to acclimate to them. He loves to give kisses (I think he was a lizard in his past life…hahaha). They are a bonded pair. They have grown up together and I would hate to separate them. They are soulmates and I would love for them to stay together. I understand that this is a lot to ask, but they are so worth it! We are having to re-home them due to a move across the country. This means we will be living out of a small camper and traveling all over the southeast. I don’t feel that this is a fair life for my pups to live. They love to run and play and wouldn't get this freedom if they come with us.

Story
Allow us to introduce you to the canine Paul Newman. He’s ever so aptly named. Paul is a 4.5-5 month-old Australian Shepherd mix. He has STUNNING blue eyes that look right into your soul. Paul spent the last couple months of his life in a very small, underfunded, shelter in Texas with his littermates. Since springing the clink, Paul has been settling into his foster home. He very much enjoys the company of other dogs and derives much confidence from them. We feel he will be most successful in a multi-dog home. Paul is very, very sweet and once he gets to know you, he enjoys all the snuggles. He is quite playful with a dash of a mischievous streak and has proven to be quite smart as he learned the doggie door in just a few days. Paul Newman is being fostered in Black Hawk, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/paul-newman/. Story
Earl is a 4.5-month-old, Aussie mix with a heart full of potential. He’s a bit shy with people but getting braver every day—especially with the help of treats and his favorite thing in the world: other dogs! Earl would thrive in a home with a confident doggie friend to show him the ropes. He loves to play with toys, is highly food-motivated, and currently lives with two dogs and two kids (ages 9 & 12). While he’s still learning to trust people, his sweet nature shines through, and he’s ready to find a patient, loving family to help him come into his own. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful pup who just needs a little time and love, Earl might be the perfect fit! 🐶 Earl is in foster in Lakewood, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/earl You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Precious Ruby is a 4.5 month old, female, Aussie mix. She has the softest coat and a sweet, timid nature. Ruby came from a very small shelter in Texas with minimal resources. Everything about home living is new to her. Ruby enjoys being in the company of other dogs and that’s where she really blossoms. She’s cat friendly and curious about humans but isn’t trusting right off the bat. She will do well in a multi-dog home with a fenced in yard. Story
Sweet, little, Indigo has the cutest underbite you’ve ever seen! This adorable fluffer has joined MHCR from a very small, extremely underfunded shelter in Texas. She is 4.5 months old and is learning that her world is no longer a scary place. Indigo must have another dog in her home and a fenced in yard. She adores children and warms up to them quicker than adults. She is smart as a whip is and is acclimating to house training and crate training beautifully! Don’t let this gorgeous girl pass you by! Story
We got Chaco in 2020, before my wife and I had kids and I started to travel for work. He is very sweet and good with the kids, but we don’t have time to exercise him as we should. We will be incredibly sad to see him go, but it’s the right thing for him and us.
