Story
Meet Lil! Lil is a 10 month old, 15 pound Mini Australian Shepherd.
Born in a puppy mill, Lil's early life was filled with fear and uncertainty. She has so much love to give, but she needs a patient and understanding family to help her blossom. She may startle easily, particularly when faced with loud noises or sudden movements, but beneath her timid exterior lies an abundance of love waiting to be shared
While she is still uncertain and cautious, she is making progress every day. With the right guidance and a gentle approach, she is learning to trust and feel safe during leash walks. Lil does well with other dogs, and would benefit from a home with another confident resident dog to show her that people are nothing to be afraid of.
She thrives in calm and peaceful environments where she can slowly come out of her shell and trust the people around her. A tranquil, patient, and loving household is just what she needs to make the transition from fear to love.
Are you the one who will offer Lil a forever home, a place where her sweet nature can truly shine? Join her in this new chapter of life, and you'll witness the transformation of a timid puppy mill survivor into a loving, devoted companion.
Lil is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.
Lil is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
