Bo Daddy ACCT-A-209636 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Bo Daddy must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by THURSDAY, JANUARY 16TH at 10AM. Should Bo Daddy’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
Bo Daddy is a calm, gentle pup who is always eager to please. He’s very submissive and enjoys snuggling up for cuddles, though he may get a bit nervous with overhead pets. Bo Daddy enjoys treats, which he takes very gently, and he loves to engage in play, showing his wiggly, relaxed side. Though a bit hesitant about returning to his kennel or meeting new dogs, Bo Daddy is an affectionate and low-maintenance pal who would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can continue to feel secure and loved. He’s ready to join a home that will give him the time and space to fully open up and enjoy the love he truly deserves. He is open to meeting other dogs and children over the age of 10, so if there are any in the home, please bring them along for a meet. Due to his length of stay, Bo Daddy is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner, foster, or adopter.

BEHAVIOR:
01/11/25 volunteer notes: Bo Daddy was invited to join ACCT Philly at the Philadelphia Wings Bark in the Bowl event this Saturday. He was a fan favorite throughout the day. He did wonderfully in the car on the way there and back, sitting calmly and looking out the window. At the event, he was an absolute rockstar. He met SO MANY new people (and dogs) and was friendly and loving towards everyone. He allowed pets and hugs from all guests, adults and kids of all ages. We noticed he probably has a liking for soft things and stuffed toys as he gravitated towards folks' gloves, mittens, and fluffy sleeves. Even when he would lightly grab these things, he released with minimal encouragement needed. He was so sweet with all the kids that approached him and was gentle throughout the day, even after several hours and a lot of stimulation. He met several other dogs at the event, and approached with curiosity and a wagging tail. He may not appreciate rough play as he did not seem to click with a more rambunctious male dog he met, but he encountered others with no concerns. He enjoyed sharing some pizza and chicken nuggets with me and took everything gently and appreciatively. He is a gentle, patient, sweetheart and will likely do well in a home with lots of love to give. He checked in with me regularly and without prompting and did not seem phased by the crowds, noises, smells, or excitement. He was even featured on the jumbotron and met the Wings mascot! Bo Daddy is an absolute catch and will make a wonderful companion!
Per staff 1/11: A volunteer took Bo Daddy to an event at the Wells Fargo center and said he was amazing! They said it was super crowded and he was so friendly and tolerant! He let every single person pet him, along with kids and just wanted to befriend every person. He did great with the two other dogs and was just all around lovely. He was also featured on the big screen!
Per staff 1/11: Bo Daddy is super sweet and friendly! A volunteer took him out for an event and he was super wiggly and excited to get a harnessed and ready to go! He was super tolerant of his paws being lifted into the harness and he was such a gentle boy.
Per staff 1/9: Little strong on leash, but chill.
Per volunteer on 1/5: Bo Daddy is a very sweet and soft dog with a big love for people. Today was my first time meeting him and although he is a bit of a shy boy, he took no time at all to warm up to me. Bo had just gotten out of his PCR testing so he had been confined to kennel for around a week. Despite this he was still well-behaved, barely jumping and showing off his sit. Bo took treats gently and happily chased a ball, but did not grab it. He was mostly focused on getting love, definitely a people dog! While on his walk Bo had lots of sniffs to do and pulled moderately, but got better with time.
Per volunteer 1/5: Loves treats, submissive and sweet.
Per volunteer 12/26: Mouthy and jumpy but super sweet.
Per volunteer 12/25: A little mouthy, treat obsessed, jumpy for treats.
Per volunteer 12/24: Minimal pulling but not bad. Walks well. Very good boy. Took treats nicely!
Per volunteer 12/24: Good dog meet - very forward; pulls; hesitant to return to kennel.
Per volunteer 12/23: Super sweet; loves treats! Walks well on leash.
12/23 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Bo Daddy was asleep on his bed and woke up with soft eyes and slowly came to the front with a wagging tail and loose body. He was easily leashed and came right out once secured.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately
HANDLING:
In the room, Bo Daddy approached with soft eyes and a wagging tail. He is a very submissive boy and is very timid. He prefers to lay down and relax and get cuddles. He allowed all handling but was a bit nervous with overhead pets, getting lower and submissive and avoided all eye contact. He would remain loose and wiggly though whenever we initiated play, gave treats which he took gently and snuggled up with him.
PLAY:
Minimal interest
TOYS:
Interest but no possession
Per staff 12/23: Bright, alert, and responsive, friendly, good boy, well behaved.
Per staff 12/22: Such a sweet and gentle handsome lad. Allowed all handling and solicited pets gently. Caller had a dog in her home and he seemed very calm and friendly with it. Knows sit and down. Caller stated she walked out front to get a package and a friendly stray dog walked up to her. She brought him inside and confined in her dogs crate. APO arrived and removed medium adult male pitty from location.
MEDICAL:
On 12/28, Bo Daddy was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold" and started on medication. He tested negative for pneumovirus and has completed his course of doxycycline.
During his intake exam on 12/23, Bo Daddy’s eyes and nose were clear and his ears had mild waxing. He had staining on his front teeth and tartar on his back teeth, along with pressure sores on his back feet.
