Story
Hello, my name is Shadow and I am a 2 year old Border Collie mix with a beautiful coat. I am fully vaccinated and spayed, have a very fun personality and love to go on nature walks, play in the house, and tug of war with my ropes and toys. I am crate trained and sleep all night quietly and am also fully house trained. For the past year, I have lived at Dog Republic in Newport where I have had on-going training for my "stranger danger and learning to better trust humans:) I love all of my dog buddies and the humans I know & trust. I still have stranger danger and will need someone who understands my dog anxiety better. I am very sweet with all the people I am comfortable with but will still need help on my walks and meeting new people. I am extremely food motivated and will do almost any command for a good treat. I can't wait to meet you and find my forever home!!! Shadow's Adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, microchip and current vaccinations. To fill out an adoption application, visit https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSP-A-844 To follow Shadow on her journey to a loving family on SPOT's Facebook page, visit https://facebook.com/spotsavespets/ and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/spotsavespets/

Story
Meet Frankie Meet beautiful Frankie. Frankie needs a super active family who can continue to give him the DAILY exercise he needs in order to thrive. He loves high energy explosive sports like running, bikejoring, skijoring, agility, dog sledding, fetch, etc. Frankie needs a committed family who will continue his training and keep exposing him to new environments. Frankie is extremely loving and sweet. He loves other dogs and is good with all farm animals, but due to not getting the exercise and exposure he needed with his last family, he developed some resource guarding with other dogs when it comes to food and toys. At this time Frankie would be best as the only dog in the home, or he needs a family who FULLY understands the concept of separate feeding and is able to manage with toys, bones etc. He may do ok living with a female dog in the home, but would need time to build a relationship to work through the resource guarding. He is fully crate trained, potty trained, and incredibly well behaved in the house. He is non-destructive, very quiet, and settles great inside. He will make someone an amazing companion and is a potential sport prospect. If interested in learning more about this dog & setting up a potential meet & greet, please fill out our adoption application. https://www.underdogheroes.org/applytoadopt

Story
How this pet arrived: Bonnie was brought in by her previous owner on November 27, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Bonnie, a happy and loveable dog looking for her new home! She came into our care with a fractured leg, which is healing up nicely. Bonnie is very intelligent and full of energy. One of her adorable quirks is her "Heeler nibble" - a playful little nip at your ankles! Bonnie has shown herself to be affectionate and enjoys meeting new people, happily accepting pets and neck scratches. She loves fetch and toys and would love it if you join in the fun, but is also great at entertaining herself. Bonnie is not a fan of sharing, and would thrive best as the only pet in the home where she can soak up all your attention and love. She has some reactivity to unfamiliar dogs (resulting in barking and pulling on the leash), which can be managed with some positive reinforcement training. She is not a candidate for dog parks or other off-leash venues. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will fill your days with joy, fill out the interest form above!Dog Reactive Dog: Bonnie requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived:Pupusa and Tamale were brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 14, 2024. Why Pupusa and Tamale are the ones for you:Meet Pupusa and Tamale (#932921), an inseparable pair of doggos that are trying their hardest to understand this big world but making progress every day! These sweet sisters are looking for a home that will be patient with them and help them reach their full potential. Having come from a background with limited exposure to the world, Pupusa and Tamale are a bit more cautious than the average pup. Over time, we have come to see them become playful and goofy and wonderfully joyous to watch. They will thrive best in a calm, adult-only home (or one with kids 12+) without other dogs (they can be scary for them), where they can feel safe as they build their confidence. These two can walk on leash, but a ground-level home with easy access to a potty area would be ideal for their continued progress. Our team is ready to help Tamale and Pupusa's adopters succeed and provide all the resources we can. Are you ready to give these two devoted sisters the safe and loving home they deserve? Stop by and see these beautiful two today! Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
