Story
Meet Sonny! He is such a handsome boy. Sonny is a two-year, eight-month-old Aussie Shepherd. He is a handsome boy who loves some belly rubs and gives you a paw when he hasn’t been done getting a pet (see picture)! Unfortunately, he’s not great around children or smaller dogs. He has exhibited dominance and aggression, making him a less-than-perfect candidate for our household with an eight-year-old daughter and other kids around. His resource-guarding behavior is the reason he is listed as having special needs. He needs a home where he can be the only dog in an adult household. Sonny needs to be adopted by an experienced dog owner who would be able to identify any signs of potential aggression and take him to training to get rid of that aggression. CHARACTERISTICS Friendly, Affectionate, Playful, Smart, Independent, Loves kisses With a heavy heart, we’ve decided it would be best if he were to find an environment that gives him a better chance at success and happiness with an experienced dog owner. To meet Sonny, email his foster dad, Joseph, at joseph.e.moser@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: This is a Courtesy Listing, and ARRF is not familiar with this dog. Please see the contact information at the end of his bio. Thank you.

Story
I adopted Annie from a foster home 2 months ago. This decision is incredibly difficult! Annie is a love bug! She sits, gives high fives and lays down. I have also taught her to heel. A harness will make her pull. The only reason I’ve made this decision is when I adopted her they said she was a year old and will not grow anymore. She has gained 6 pounds and 4 inches in height. I had a dog trainer visit, a friend, and they said she’s 6 months and will grow another 10-15 lbs and in length she will grow, but he couldn’t guess the amount. Due to MS I’m not able to have a dog that size. This decision has broken my heart! Please only adopt if she will be an inside dog, you need to enjoy a dog that is a very affectionate companion and can take her for walks or runs. Annie loves her walks. She also loves staying home relaxing. The price includes a new crate, toys, leash, harness and collar. Depending on when she’s adopted food will be included and 3 months of flea and tick meds.

Story
Kristi is a Australian Shepherd Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/20/2015 and she weighs 40 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Kristi is OK with people that she knows but is not good with new people. She is better suited for a home that has no cats, no kids or other dogs or small animals.  Kristi does like to vocalize and would be best in a house as she needs a lot of space to run around. Kristi is not good alone and does need someone she can trust to be her side most of the time. Kristi requires a very special diet and does not tolerate prepackaged dog food well. She has some minor skin issues that do require weekly medication.  She has a very high energy level and would require exercise on a daily basis for at least 1 hour otherwise she has the tendency to be destructive to items.  Kristi does have some issues on a a leash and has a small problem with marking in homes. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. If you are interested in a particular dog please FILL OUT an Adoption Application at our website @ http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt and we can schedule you for an appointment to meet with a particular dog if it is available. We do require an application if you are interested in adoption.  If you are interested in potentially adopting please fill out an application at http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt. Your application will be reviewed and you will be placed on a waiting list for the dog(s). If your name comes up on the waiting list(s) we will contact you. Story
Hello, my name is Shadow and I am a black and white mutt who is 10 months old. I am full vaccinated and spayed. I have a very funny personality and love to go on nature walks, play in the hose, and tug of war with my ropes and toys. I am crate trained and sleep all night. I love my daycare and have been in training to socialize better with other dogs and people. I still have stranger danger and will need someone who understands my dog anxiety better. I am very sweet with all the people I am comfortable with but will still need help on my walks and meeting new people with a professional trainer. I am extremely food motivated and will do almost any command for a good treat. I can't wait to meet you and find my forever home. Shadow's Adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, microchip and current vaccinations.
