Story
Kristi is a Australian Shepherd Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/20/2015 and she weighs 40 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Kristi is OK with people that she knows but is not good with new people. She is better suited for a home that has no cats, no kids or other dogs or small animals.  Kristi does like to vocalize and would be best in a house as she needs a lot of space to run around. Kristi is not good alone and does need someone she can trust to be her side most of the time. Kristi requires a very special diet and does not tolerate prepackaged dog food well. She has some minor skin issues that do require weekly medication.  She has a very high energy level and would require exercise on a daily basis for at least 1 hour otherwise she has the tendency to be destructive to items.  Kristi does have some issues on a a leash and has a small problem with marking in homes. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. If you are interested in a particular dog please FILL OUT an Adoption Application at our website @ http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt and we can schedule you for an appointment to meet with a particular dog if it is available. We do require an application if you are interested in adoption.  If you are interested in potentially adopting please fill out an application at http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt. Story
Scout is a beautiful 8-month-old female puppy! We believe she may be a Border Collie x Australian Shepherd mix given her stunning characteristics.  She is incredibly sweet and friendly to all that she meets! She would do best in an active household as she may be a mix of two strong working breeds. She will need someone who can properly enrich her genetics along with providing structure, routine, and basic obedience to help her grow out of puppyhood. Scout walks beautifully on a loose leash with minimal pulling and has been responding extremely well and quick to provided basic obedience and structure. She is wicked smart, fluffy, and sweet!  She can best be described as dog social, but also neutral and tolerant. She's happy to wiggle around with some friends and is also totally chill with other dogs who are still learning their manners. As she is likely a herding breed, she would probably do best in a home with other medium to large dogs and kids 13+, although she has met small dogs and cats and has done well with them. Scout is an eligible dog through our partnership with Pets for Patriots, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping current or former US military members find their best friend. Story
Australian Shepherd mix – Red Merle & White Male 11 weeks 12 pounds At Rancho Coastal, puppies become available for adoption starting at 8 weeks of age. Many of these puppies have spent time in loving foster homes, with some even being bottle-fed during their earliest days. As they grow into adulthood, puppies require ongoing training, socialization, and enrichment to thrive. Adopting a puppy is a significant commitment, and we encourage potential adopters to carefully consider their schedules, time spent away from home, and the ages and needs of all family members before making this life-changing decision. Most puppies arrive at the shelter as strays, so their histories are often unknown. Enrolling in a puppy class is highly recommended for all puppies in our adoption program to build a strong foundation for good behavior and bonding. To support this, adopters who complete a minimum 4-week introductory training course with a science-based dog trainer are eligible for a $50 rebate on the adoption fee." An adoption survey and instructions can be found on our website. Adoption Hours: Wednesday-Monday; 11 AM to 4 PM (Adoptions until 3:30 pm) Address: 389 Requeza Street, Encinitas, CA 92024

Story
Arlo is a neutered, 100% Australian shepherd (did the embark dna test), fully updated on vaccines including rabies within last couple months. Have had Arlo since September 2024 via shelter, & he’s such a great, loving dog. Estimated 2 years old. He is crate and potty trained (of course will need some time to adjust to a new home/routine), and gets along well with other dogs. However he does have some reactivity to other dogs where he will pull on the leash and bark until corrected walking by other dogs. He has definitely gotten better and he did well with a trainer that we had for a couple weeks. The reason we want to rehome Mr Arlo is because I’m due with my first baby in July, and I already have a high energy dog in a small apartment. W/ the two of them separate its much calmer, but they definitely rile each other up and I worry about having a newborn with all that large dog energy. This is a really hard decision and I will only rehome Arlo if I know he’s going to a better situation

Story
There is nothing sub-zero about the Ice Age puppies! They are sure to warm even the most frozen of hearts with their sweet personalities. Their mama was a mix of many breeds but we can see Jack Russell Terrier and Australian Shepherd in her. We don't know who these little ones' dad was or how big they will end up getting but mama is about 40 lbs and we believe these puppies are on track to be medium sized dogs when they are done growing. They all have short golden and white fur and many have blue eyes. Soto is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. We require all puppy adopters to provide training that includes: house training, basic training, leash training, and socialization. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. We do not allow our dogs or puppies to sleep or live outside; they must be incorporated into your family and be made a priority in your life. In return, you will have the most loving and loyal family member you could ask for. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting an Ice Age pup, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Thank you for joining the Adoption Family with Labs and More Rescue. We are here to help you find a furry companion. You will find our quick and easy adoption application at www.labsandmore.org and click on Adopt. Story
Meet Sloth, a fun-loving Jack Russell Terrier and Australian Shepherd mix with a big personality! Expected to be medium-sized when fully grown, this playful pup is always ready for a good time. Sloth loves running around the yard, chasing after toys, and is getting the hang of retrieving balls. He's a social sweetheart who adores people and enjoys being in the middle of the action. After playtime, he's happy to snuggle up for some love and attention. He's making steady progress with house training and already knows how to sit and lie down. With his enthusiasm for treats and learning, he's sure to master even more tricks in no time! If you're looking for a friendly, energetic companion, Sloth is your perfect match!
