Story
Name: Willow Age: Approx 6-8 yrs. Gender: Male Weight: Approx 15-16 lbs. Adoption Fee: $80 Willow's story is kind of sad and brought tears to my eyes when I first learned where he came from. Willow and his friend (Winslow) were surrendered from a drug house in Wilkesboro, NC. Their owner passed away but they were neglected and mistreated so much that when I took them in they were both severely matted, dirty, emaciated, had fleas, skin rashes. Willow's eyes had liquid discharge coming out of them and he kept them closed a lot cause he couldn't see anything. I've attached a few before pictures of when I got him. He was brought to me on May 6th and I've had him in my care for about 6 weeks now. I took him to the vet right away and he was treated given a physical exam and properly medicated. Willow has been slowly healing and the day he started opening his eyes a bit more, I could see a sparkle coming out of his eyes. Willow has a calm and brave demeanor about him. I would guess he's more of the top cat of his colony and doesn't mind telling other cats to leave him alone. Lol. He would do best in a household as the only cat. I don't know how he is with dogs. He loves the string toy and has a playful personality. He was so weak when I first got him but it's been really nice seeing his energy more uplifted and not feeling like he's in pain all the time. Willow enjoys a big cat tree and some scratching posts. He definitely loves food and is very food motivated. Like his friend Winslow..always part of the clean plate club. :) Willow is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for FELV. Unfortunately, he tested positive for FIV. Which is another reason why he would do best as the only cat. FIV has a negative stigma when used. Cats with FIV can live just as long as normal cats as long as their well cared for. All paperwork will be provided at time of adoption. I require a professional reference, and if you have or had any current pet/s, I will need to see their paperwork. Willow is so deserving af a good home with love and affection. He will not be adopted to just anyone, I want to make sure it's a good fit for Willow and his potential adopter/s. If you'd like to learn more about Willow contact me and let's help find him a sweet, loving home. Whoever gets Willow will be very lucky.

Story
Name: Winslow Age: Approx 3-4 yrs. Gender: Male Weight: Approx 9-10 lbs. Adoption Fee: $80 Winslow's story is kind of sad and brought tears to my eyes when I first learned where he came from. Winslow and his friend (Willow) were surrendered from a drug house in Wilkesboro, NC. Their owner passed away but they were neglected and mistreated so much that when I took them in they were both severely matted, dirty, emaciated, had fleas, skin rashes. I took him to the vet right away and he was treated given a physical exam and properly medicated. Winslow has been slowly healing and his condition wasn't as bad as Willow's but you can tell their prior environment was not good. Winslow is funny, kinda quirky and loves getting attention. He's a total lap kitty and will just lay in your lap while being affectionate and giving you motor purrs. I don't know how he is with dogs. He absolutely loves the string toy and has a playful personality. He's full of energy and doesn't mind being the center of attention. Winslow enjoys a big cat tree and some scratching posts. I will say he does have a playful bite to him. But it's those bites that he's trying to be playful and doesn't realize it sometimes hurts us humans. He definitely loves food and is very food motivated. Like his friend Willow..always part of the clean plate club. :) I feel like Winslow would do well with other cats. Story
Lila is a very sweet, shy cat who just wants to be in a home where she can be a lap cat forever. She has never gotten along with our three younger cats (litter mates) and she constantly feuds with the other female cats and they get into a lot of fights. It is stressful for all, which is why I am looking for a better home for her. I do think she would do okay with another older cat who is not territorial and just wants a cuddle buddy. She had been bonded with my old cat since she was a kitten and never really got over losing her. Additionally, Lila is a Siamese, which also means she is hypoallergenic (great for people who loves cats but have a sensitivity or mild allergy).

Story
Tia is a striking tortie with varied interests: being adored, watching birds through the window, chasing laser dots, being combed and petted, playing with wand toys, and eating to name a few. She is funny, sweet, and has a mighty purr. Don't let her age fool you: she LOVES to play and sprints at high speed chasing after the laser dot. It took Tia a while to feel comfortable when she came to her foster home, but now -- while not a lap cat -- she wants to be within a few feet of her foster mom almost all the time. She is a wonderful companion who will do best in a calm, settled household without any other pets. To learn more about Tia, visit her website: https://pamassard.wixsite.com/tiathefostercat

Story
Scout is a very chatty cat and loves to run around while announcing her presence. She is somewhat skittish, but loves to hang out in the same room as other people. She loves her cat tree, feather toys, her ribbon wand, and most other cat toys but, does not seem to understand cat treadmills. She takes a bit to warm up to you, but is a fairly cuddly cat. Scout can be somewhat skittish around other cats and seems to be afraid of smaller cats and kittens. Scout would be happiest as the only cat in the household. Story
Meet Carrie of the Sour Patch kitties. The kitty trio, Pacino, Cash, and Carrie came to IAR from rough beginnings. They were quite spicy and sour earning them the nickname the Sour Patch kitties. And just like the gummies with time, patience, and love, their sourness has turned to sweet. All three love treats, crunchy and squeeze, catnip and silver vine, laser lights, moving play fish and snakes, toy mice, cardboard, and balls and ice on slick surfaces. They enjoy spending their mornings watching the birds take turns at the feeder and the occasional squirrel visit by the porch window. While these three have come a long way from hissing and hiding, they are still a work in progress. They show their love for you in small ways. Like Carrie loves to roll around in your dirty clothes at the end of the day as if it were a pile of catnip. Every morning she will greet you with headbutts and snuggles. Carrie loves to play with her siblings and has the softest fur. She love pretty much any "toy" even if it's just a piece of trash on the floor or the corner of the bathroom rug. Don't even get me started on wand toys (spoiler: I'm obsessed). There is never a dull moment with this trio. From late night hours of collective zoomies, to playing with rubber toys in the tub, to their cute quirkiness like Carrie's passionate meow for morning snuggles in bed. Carrie can be adopted as a single kitty to a home with an existing young, playful kitty. If possible and all three could stay together, your home will have the best of all kitty worlds :) Carrie is a striped brown/gray/black tabby. She has the cutest ear tips and and chunky feet. Carrie will do great in a home with other young cats because of her exuberiant personality. If Carrie is the perfect kitty for you please apply to adopt her!
