Story
Sweeter than the ice cream she was named after, it’s Bluebell, the Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier mix who, after 5 years of life, is still longing for her forever family. This precious girl was rescued from Lexington County, South Carolina and is learning to embrace the goodness that life has to offer her. Her wiry black and white coat are so precious, and her big, bright eyes are seeing the world in a whole new light now that she is safe and loved. She’s a little self-conscious about her misshapen ear, but we think it's so adorable and gives her so much character. At just 12 pounds, this small girl is ready for a big life of love.
Bluebell is a bit shy at first, but she really wants to love the people around her and is working each day on her confidence. She is reserved and prefers a calm environment where she can relax and feel safe. She does well around other calm dogs but would also do great in a home with just humans. She has been through quite a lot and needs patience as she adjusts.
Bluebell would do well in a home with calm cats, but she would do best in a home without young kids as she continues to navigate her new life. This sweet little girl is so ready to be loved the way she deserves, and she hopes you will give her a chance to show you just how wonderful life with her can be. HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
