Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gabby and Gigi (AL) are bonded female Chihuahua mixes rescued from an Alabama kill-shelter, where - scared and shy - they clung together for comfort.  Their bond is very strong and they must be adopted together. They are both approximately 25 lbs and Gabby is estimated to be 4 years old, while Gigi is thought to be 5-6 years. With their terrifying shelter experience behind them and a little TLC, they are now blossoming and the lucky family who adopts them can count on a double dose of daily joy! Their foster mom says they are charming, playful and ridiculously affectionate. They are very social with people once they get to know you, and they like other dogs and even cats, with proper introductions. They need space (inside and outside) to run around and play. They follow their person around like ducklings, because they want to be your everything, so they will do best with someone who is home for the most part. Their favorite position is snuggling with each other, preferably on top of a human, for hours!  If you have room in your heart and your home for these two delightful characters, please apply to adopt at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoptionGiven technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
Meet a timid lady Bombom🩷(bom 봄 means spring in Korean) Even though she is still wary of people, she is getting better little by little. Bombom is learning to get adapted to spending time with her foster and foster family inside the house. She has not tried to walk outside yet. *Separation anxiety: A home camera was installed in the house to see Bombom when the foster family went outside, and Bombom she was waiting and missing her foster family. *Potty-training: Bombom mostly stays indoors and can perfectly go in the center of the potty pad!💯 * Energy Level (1~10): Level 2 * Socialization -People: Curious about people but still scared. When her fam approach her, she tends to step backward. Still gets nervous and flinches when someone tries to touch her but doesn’t move away from her spot. She’ll take treats if her family is holding them. Once in a while, she approaches her foster and the family first! She can get nervous and tremble if she makes eye contact with human strangers. She moves away when someone suddenly comes at her. -Dogs: She gets along with the foster's dog. *She's still scared of Bombom’s surroundings and everything in the world. To protect herself, she “growls” but doesn’t show other aggressive behavior. When Bombom learns to build up trusting relationships with people and there are more enjoyable things than scary things in the world, it will be a great help for her to adapt to a new environment! *Bark: Doesn’t bark at all. *Is possible to bathe her but Bombom is still scared and uncomfortable with bathing and tries to move away. *Foster's Instagram: @happydog_world

Story
Meet Mas🩵 * Toward People: Loves everyone and becomes a lovebug irrespective of age or gender once he is acquainted. Approaches and smells even strangers but appears to feel awkward getting touched by them. Favors middle-aged women over middle-aged men. * Towards Dogs: Generally speaking, gets along well with other dogs despite some variation depending on dogs. Being a social butterfly, he occasionally gets tired of playing with other dogs. Plays well with larger dogs who are social. * Separation Anxiety: Has the trace of separation anxiety, so training is required. * Potty Training: Favors outdoor potty but indoor potty is limited only to urination. Potty pads success rate is 95%. * Hygiene: Is good at bathing, nail trimming, drying and brushing. Is scared of the sound of a clipper. *Walks: Enjoys a lot and walks nicely without pulling on the leash. * Car Sickness : Gets carsick when riding the car for over an hour. 💌Special Note💌 * Mastered the commands like “Sit” "Paw", "The Other Paw"and is learning “Wait” now.😊 * Enjoys eating and is relatively easy to train due to his food motivation, but he can sometimes eat or take treats hastily. * While indoors, Mas prefers resting over playing. ❗Health Condition❗ * Neutering: Done. * Others: Microchipped, heartworm treatment completed. * Is currently taking medication for an infection caused by a fungus in the ear. Care is needed to apply ointment. * Requires tear stain management. Proper care may be needed if tears are frequent. * Is suspected to have allergic reactions to pork.

Story
Meet Victor💜 She was found tied with a tight collar in a pebble field. Upon rescue, she appeared frightened, surrounded by accumulated food, but quickly warmed up, showing signs of relief and wagging her tail. * Separation Anxiety: Still quite anxious when left alone for extended periods, resulting in whining and occasionally tearing wallpaper or mats 😭 * Housebroken: Prefers outdoor potty. * She hasn't met other dogs many times so she's a little shy. With calm friends, she slowly greets by sniffing, but for those who approach aggressively, she expresses with a growl. * Absolutely loves people! During greetings, she lies down and eagerly leans on people, seeking cuddles all over 🥰 * Extensively affectionate towards strangers outdoors, but indoors with unfamiliar faces, she's initially a bit apprehensive. Once familiar, she becomes an adorable sweetheart! * Initially pulls on the leash during walks but gradually syncs pace. Tends to chase after cats, so caution is necessary. * Rarely barks! When unfamiliar people enter the house, she quietly 'woofs' (who's there!) without continuous barking. * Has no issues with car rides! 😊 * Enjoys baths! 🫧 Loves it when thoroughly scrubbed during shampooing. * Loves eating, making training possible with kibble! * Feels a bit apprehensive during ear cleaning/nail trimming. * Sheds only during shedding seasons. * Special Skills: Mastered 'Paw, Sit, Lie Down, Wait, House, Cool, Kiss, Nose' – a true pro in commands! 😎 * Favorites: Familiar people, head pats, fruits, running, cuddling 💙 Foster's Instagram: @imbo_victor_

She is a sweet a smart Jindo mix girl who wants to be loved :) Behaviours from foster home : Lila is such a sweetheart who is smart and loves her hoomans! She is a bit timid and shy at first time. She would be appreciate it, if you could give her some time get used to her new family and new environment :) She is good with other doggie friends. Please give her some time to get used to you and wait for her to feel comfortable and let her come to you :) She has good walking manner, as well. Story
BROOKLYN, NY: Lovely lady Ajax is cuter than a button, loves her fellow dogs, and is ready to be your best gal pal! Adorable Ajax is estimated to be 8 years young and weighs 19 lbs. She is incredibly playful and happy to be alive! Sadly, she was found as a stray, just a tiny little girl in a crazy, huge city. But with her stunning good looks and slightly pudgy, potato body, we know she had a home somewhere – a home she was missing terribly while at the shelter. Ajax was rescued from euthanasia in March 2024 and has been in a loving foster home since, harmoniously living with 2 other dogs (but likes to chase the cat). Ajax is spunky cutie patutie, but also loving and affectionate. She is a fun-loving and lively middle aged lady. Ajax is very friendly with other dogs and happy to make new friends, adjusting very quickly in foster care. She loves to snuggle up next to a nice warm body – human or canine. She will roll over for belly rubs and be so excited to see you when waking up or arriving home. And her charming little face just brightens up your day! Ajax is fully vetted, spayed, recently groomed, and micro chipped. Beautiful Ajax might be small, but her love is BIG! After everything she has been through, Ajax would love to have the stability of a forever home in which she can shower her person or people with all her love! Can that be with you? If you can open your heart and home to sweet little Ajax, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at AmsterDog.org. Please fill out an application to adopt Ajax at AmsterDog.org.
