Story
My story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking, but I'm glad I found my way back to the rescue organization that can help me find the forever home I deserve. I can be a gentle and loyal companion who simply craves the love and attention that every dog deserves. Despite the neglect I experienced in my previous home,I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue. My shyness and caution around men is understandable, but with the right patience and care, I'm confident I will blossom into a wonderful family member. Here are a few key points about you that stand out: I am a loyal and humble companion who appreciates the simple things in life, like gentle pats and a calm voice. I may be a bit shy at first, but will warm up to people and become the heart of the home. I would do best in a quiet, loving environment, and would make a great match for older children or a veteran looking for a furry friend. Despite the neglect in my past, I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue.  I truly believe that with the right forever family who is willing to give me the time, patience, and love I deserve, I will flourish. I have so much to offer, and I hope to find that special someone who can provide me with the forever home I've been searching for.  Please fill out an application for me at www.fureverdogdenver.com, if you have any questions or would like to meet me, please call 720 588-6809. ##2096191##

Story
If sweetness had a face, it would belong to 2-year-old Pongo! The 42-pound tan and white beauty is a beguiling blend of affectionate and active as she swiftly settles into her foster home. She loves snuggling with her foster parents, resting her head on them and having her belly rubbed as much as she loves hugging them and sleeping in bed with them at night. Known for doing a cute little spin when she’s happy, Pongo does that same little spin when she’s about to play, wrestle and run around the yard with one of her equally playful doggy foster friends -- the more the merrier for this most playful miss. Agile, athletic and at work on her leash skills, Pongo especially enjoys going for long walks, runs and hikes, and since she’s adaptable to any situation, her calm and easygoing nature also makes her an ideal brewery dog because she loves everyone she meets. In fact, when she recently met a 6-year-old girl, she treated her so sweetly and so gently, and even gave her a little kiss on the nose! Comfortable on car rides and around the resident cats, motivated mainly by love, Pongo presently knows “sit,” prefers tiny dog biscuits, is well behaved when uncrated and is diligently at work on her house-training. Now she’s eager to do a cute little spin for active and adoring adopters, preferably with a playful canine companion, who will complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that she’s kept content, mentally and physically, fur-ever.  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Lila is deaf, and that is her special need. And she is quite happy and loving. Lila LOVES people so very much and will walk into you and curl right up, getting love and snuggles. She has been well socialized with other dogs and the cat that lives at the foster home. She did not initially like the cat, but now she snuggles right up with him and enjoys having him around. She is a gentle girl who is learning her way around the best way to take her cues. She is spayed and microchipped, and is a wonderful companion for someone who is around often and wants to help Lila continue to evolve. She walks well on a leash, never goes too far, and loves attention. Lila enjoys playing with a Kong food dispenser rolling around the kitchen floor (and we enjoy watching her play with that as well!). She has learned what it is to play and what dog toys are now, and that has been the best evolution to watch! She is going to need some training to figure out that she needs to look to her owner for cues. We have been working on that, but she needs more work. She has started to look at our faces for direction, though she does not seem to comprehend the "thumbs up" many deaf dogs can respond to. She will need someone who is willing to do training specific to deaf dogs. Lila does not love going in the car, but goes every day and has gotten much better. She does still drool a bit. The more she is restrained in the car, the better she does. She can be a little picky about food, but loves chicken and puppy food, and always enjoys treats. She is exceptional, and we know there is her person out there knowing that she is such an outstanding girl who deserves all of the love that a person has to offer. She has such a tender and loving disposition, you will fall in love immediately.

Story
Our family adopted Fin when he was 5-7 months old from Lifeline Puppy Rescue in Brighton, Colorado. He is a playful, energetic dog who is the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys the outdoor Colorado lifestyle. True to his breed he is full of life and loves to stay active. He would make a wonderful addition to an active household where he can burn off his energy. We love him dearly but cannot provide him with the active lifestyle he deserves.
