Story
Meet Mama! She is a very cuddly, senior black lab mix. My baby and I are having to move out of our house for financial reasons and can no longer keep our pets. Mama was found on the side of the road by a friend of mine, and I took her in because they couldn’t. She had a really bad case of mange and fleas, which is why her hair is missing in some parts, and she’s missing most of her teeth. She’s estimated to be 10 years old, but she still loves to run around and play! She is ok with other dogs but would probably be best in a home without dogs or with other senior dogs who are relaxed. She LOVES to be pet and cuddled and will often greet you at the door with her little stomps and spins! Sometimes she likes to be a picky eater, and other times she will chow down on her meal. She needs her shots updated, but I haven’t been able to afford it - I just want her to go to a home that can give her the care and attention she deserves, so there’s no adoption fee.

Story
Makita is a sweet 8 year old husky. I have had her since she was a pup, but unfortunately she does not like small children. With a 2 year old one twin baby boys, I can no longer keep her. She would do best in a single dog home. Huskies have a lot of energy, and she enjoys a back yard where she can run around.

Story
Badger is a sweet boy in need of a home without children and preferably without other dogs. He is reactive but can manage it well. He has had a lot of training with an e collar and is very good on it. He is on fluoxetine to manage anxiety but still occasionally gets upset. He doesn't like being cornered or stood over, but otherwise is a sweet dog. He came from a shelter and has made a ton of progress since I got him three years ago. He needs someone who can walk him or has a back yard for him, but otherwise he usually prefers to do his own thing.

Story
I found her downtown in the busy streets of Birmingham. She was all alone and eating out of any trash or littered to-go boxes that she could. This was appx 3 weeks ago and the temperatures were below freezing. I picked her up and took her to my local vet and immediately scanned her for a microchip, but there was not one. My last name is Hamm...so calling her Birmy Hamm just seemed so fitting. Birmy is good with other dogs! She has been around my 6 year old niece a handful of times and was just a good little girl. I've personally been paying for boarding and medical expenses at my vet, Argo Animal Clinic. She's also been around cats in the vet that come and go around her and she seems to be ok with them as well. I cannot afford to continue paying for boarding, but I felt so bad for the gal I just couldn't leave her that night in the city. I have 7 animals at home, so I cannot take her in, but I am desperate to find her a good home.

Story
Need to rehome older dog. Deserves to live inside of house and get lots of love and attention and go for long walks. Still has so much life ahead of him - living in backyard barely getting any attention and walks is just not for him. He was house trained but may need to be retrained. Loves to hang out anywhere his humans are. Enjoys walking, can take him on 10 walks and he'll still be enthusiastic. Loves hikes. Should be only dog "child" or paired with a dog with similar temperament. Preferably a family that's active and outdoors. That can give him love and attention throughout the day.
