Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sweet Jamie is looking for a very special fur-ever home! She has had to overcome more than her fair share of difficulties in her young life, including heartworms and gastroesophageal reflux disease. GBHS will continue to provide heartworm treatment at no cost to the adopter until the heartworms are completely cleared, and the reflux is currently well-controlled on a low-fat diet (although she may need occasional antacids in the future). Though shy and nervous in new environments, Jamie quickly opens up when given a little bit of time to settle in. Once she warms up to you, her affectionate nature truly shines and she becomes and a total cuddle-bug. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is a master at matching any level of play energy. She's fully leash, crate, and house trained, making her a wonderfully low-maintenance companion. Jamie enjoys her walks and occasional hikes (always followed by long naps, of course). Her foster parent notes that she switches seamlessly from being active and playful into being a complete couch potato ready to binge watch your next show with you! If you're patient and willing to help this sweet pup with her confidence, Jamie will reward you with a deep bond and endless affection. Come meet her and see if you're the perfect match to help her feel safe and loved. If you're interested in meeting Jamie, please email foster@gbhs.org to set up an appointment.

Story
Meet Kimber. He was taken in with his brother and buddy Ruger. He is a 3 1/2-4 yr old, 70-75 lb sweetheart lab mix. Kimber is just a big love bug. Tends to be lower energy. He’s a bit on the shy/timid side compared to his brother. He enjoys plenty of affection, chasing and talking to birds, sunbathing, chewing bones, playing with doggy siblings, taking walks, or lounging on the couch. Kimber would enjoy a nice yard or land with doggy friends, plenty of affection, and maybe a couch or comfy bed to call it a day on. In his foster home he has become accustomed to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Kimber is vetted, neutered, microchipped, house trained, kennel trained, walks on a leash, and knows basic commands. Kimber would make a great loving companion. If you would like to meet this sweet guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ . He is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions.
