Story
Petite! Loving! Silly! Makes friends easily!Willa is a close snuggling, squeaker-loving, super friendly three-legged husky girl. She came to us after a car accident, but now she's all healed up from her leg amputation and back in action. Now Willa is free to frolic and play! She loves being outdoors and seems to enjoy having a dog pal in her foster home. A well-fenced yard and active family with lots of time to spend with her would be nice, too! Willa doesn't seem to have lived with cats before and thinks they are really fun to chase when they move fast, so her ideal home would be cat-free so that everyone remains safe and happy. This sweet young puppy is about one year old. She has a luxurious, thick coat, and she doesn't mind going out in the rain! Husky dogs are known for being vocal and Willa is no exception. She "talks" to her humans and uses many different vocals to get your attention or keep you alert about people and squirrels who she can see through the front windows. Willa is quite skillful on three legs and can climb stairs and even hopped up onto the table for a better view out the window (major husky vibes)! Willa is understandably a little hesitant around busy roads with fast cars or loud noises after her car accident experience, but we're starting to see her relax and trust now that she is no longer in pain. Willa will need to remain fit and trim to make sure she stays as mobile as possible on three legs. We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). This is the best way we know how to help you bond with your new pup, give you access to current training techniques and ensure that your new dog becomes a well-rounded member of society. We believe in being proactive and know from experience that the best time to train a dog is NOW! It's important to us that all the dogs we rescue get the very best start with you. If you don't have time to attend training classes, please consider choosing an adult dog or waiting to adopt until your schedule is more flexible. Follow us on social media for daily updates! Story
Winnie is a petite girl compared to her XL siblings. She is just as playful and sweet and we enjoy watching her hold her own when they all wrestle. Winnie is a cuddly, friendly puppy who likes everyone she meets. She has the cutest white twinkle toes on all 4 feet and it looked like just her toes were dipped in white paint. She is a dainty eater and we're feeding the four pups separately so she has time and space to eat in peace. This litter of beautiful pups was surrendered to our care by an unhoused person who wanted to give them the best opportunity. They are happy, friendly and healthy pups who are growing up to be large dogs. They love everyone they meet and will make amazing pets. Their foster is crate training them and working on potty training already and they are very smart! We don't have any information about either of their parents or their possible breed mix, but we can tell you they are 100% adorable. We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). Story
Wilbur is the larger of the two male pups from this litter. He's a very big boy! Wilbur is a cuddly guy who likes to curl up and nap in your lap. He even snores a bit! His coat is velvety and the super sized wrinkles on his forehead are very cute. Wrinkles could be Wilbur's middle name! This big hunk of puppy love has been really fun to foster, too. He is crate trained and sleeping through the night already. Wilbur likes to cuddle, and his puppy snores are adorable. Story
Wesley is the smaller of the two male pups from this litter. He loves to be in a lap or lay right next to you. If you stop petting him, he pops his head up to let you know he wants more. Wesley is a real sweetie! A true XL lap dog in the making, Wesley, has chocolate brown paws and even a bit of brown in his cheeks. This guy wants all your attention. He is a happy little shadow, following his foster mom around. There is no such thing as enough attention for this cute puppy.
