I have been told how beautiful I am, and I cannot deny that it's the truth:) I have been at PRBJ for over 6 years waiting for my forever home. I know that is a really long time, more than half of my life. I am a great girl just ask anyone at the rescue center. I need time to get to know a person and trust them, but once I do, I will love you forever. I never forget those that love me. I am a little older now and really would just like a home that I can relax with my human. I am good on the leash, but really don't like going too far...but maybe if I had a great person to walk me and keep me safe, I would enjoy walking. I DO NOT like other animals (cats, dogs, birds, squirrels, etc), so my ideal home would need to pet free.... although I think I wouldn't mind a fish. I DO NOT like new people, so I would need a home that only has 1-2 ADULTS ONLY with very limited traffic in order to keep me and them safe. Please don't let any of this discourage you from wanting to adopt me. I know the right person is out there and the staff at the center is willing to work with us to ensure I get to the right home. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Precious is a fantastic companion and a loyal dog. She loves to snuggle (and snore!) and when it is a bit colder she loves to snooze with you under a blanket. She is very playful and doing zoomies outside is one of her favorite pastimes. When you come back home she will wag her tail so hard that it almost hits her in her face. She continues to be a calm dog indoors and does perfectly when she is alone. She is not a barky dog but will alert you by barking once when the doorbell is rung. She learns commands easily; in a matter of days, she learned to sit and stay when we put her food on the ground. We can even walk out of her sight without her running towards her bowl. She loves people but can be a bit nervous/protective when new people or dogs approach her. She usually does warm up to people quickly though. Due to a lack of socialization, she still needs to work on her dog reactiveness. At this time she should be the only dog in the home. Precious requires a home with a fenced in backyard for her to romp and play in. She does not do well with other animals, so she must be the Queen of the house! Sweet Girl Waiting for Her Home since May 17, 2022Simply sensational Sabrina is a sweet, BEAUTIFUL, and super smart girl who is excited for a home to call her own. She is potty trained and knows all kinds of commands. Sabrina absolutely loves people and does wonderfully inside of the house. She loves to be around people and will follow you around the house and smother you with kisses if you let her! She does not have to be crated as she just lounges even when she is left alone. Sabrina MUST be the ONLY pet in her home so that she can soak up all the love from her humans.NO CAT! NO DOG!! YES HUMANS!! including KIDS! She is a strong (and strong-willed) dog. Sabrina is NOT the type of dog that you could allow to run around in your backyard without your supervision. She CAN clear an 8 foot fence if she sees something that catches her attention on the other side. If you have a fenced-in backyard the fence must be a solid fence (not one that you can see through) to prevent Sabrina from seeing something she wants to chase. If you are walking her you MUST be aware of surroundings to prevent her from pulling you down the road after a squirrel or cat she saw cross the path. Sweetie Pie does not get along with every dog she meets because she does not like dogs that are aggressive or show an alpha personality. She would like a dog that is playful and easy going. Sweetie has several dogs at the rescue that she goes out with. And while at camp she did well with KitKat and Moose. This energetic cutie that loves her humans so much also needs a 6-foot fenced backyard to allow a safe place for her to play and use up her energy. Do you garden and plant flowers? If so, she would be great help as she likes to dig holes for you!! About Training Camp: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the Greyhound Advancement Center which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. So far, she is great with the staff Due to the mistreatment in her former home, she is best in a low-traffic household with no children or other pets. A fenced backyard is needed to give her a safe place to romp and play in. She is potty trained and will whine when she needs to go out. Sandee is still in her adolescent/puppy stage, and she enjoys running around. She loves to be scratched on the sides of her neck and loves her treats.
