Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Resident since April 2018Hello, my name is Amora. I have been told how beautiful I am, and I cannot deny that it's the truth:)  I have been at PRBJ for over 6 years waiting for my forever home.  I know that is a really long time, more than half of my life. I am a great girl just ask anyone at the rescue center. I need time to get to know a person and trust them, but once I do, I will love you forever. I never forget those that love me.  I am a little older now and really would just like a home that I can relax with my human. I am good on the leash, but really don't like going too far...but maybe if I had a great person to walk me and keep me safe, I would enjoy walking.  I DO NOT like other animals (cats, dogs, birds, squirrels, etc), so my ideal home would need to pet free.... although I think I wouldn't mind a fish. I DO NOT like new people, so I would need a home that only has 1-2 ADULTS ONLY with very limited traffic in order to keep me and them safe. Please don't let any of this discourage you from wanting to adopt me. I know the right person is out there and the staff at the center is willing to work with us to ensure I get to the right home. It will take time for you to come in and meet me a few times, but I can guarantee I am worth it.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sadly, Sandee was returned to Pet Rescue by Judy.  So far, she is great with the staff  Due to the mistreatment in her former home, she is best in a low-traffic household with no children or other pets. A fenced backyard is needed to give her a safe place to romp and play in.   She is potty trained and will whine when she needs to go out. Sandee is still in her adolescent/puppy stage, and she enjoys running around.  She loves to be scratched on the sides of her neck and loves her treats. She also knows how to sit, shake, stay, and down, she is a happy wiggle butt.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey, How's it going? My name is Mopar and I enjoy Yappy Hours! Obviously, as you can see I am quite handsome.   But I am also strong and have a great build just like the car I am named after. But I am not all brawn, I am also very smart and sweet. I know tons of commands that my friends at the training camp taught me.  I need someone that will take the time to continue working with me on the many commands I know. I love long walks, so if you jog or hike we will definitely get along. I also like relaxing and getting belly rubs and snuggles. Because I am strong, I will need someone that is able to handle me with walks because if I see a bicycle I get a little upset and need to have someone help me redirect so we can enjoy our outing.   The trainer that I worked with recommends that I go to a home with just one owner because I can get protective of the home and do not want anyone invading the space I feel I need to protect. About Training Camp: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”. Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ). Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A message from Catniss: Are you looking for the absolute sweetest dog with the bestest kisses ever? That’s me…..that’s me!  I know that my beautiful face looks a little sad, but life has not been easy so far. I ended up in a kill shelter and wonderful Judy saved me and my two tiny babies. I have had a hard life. All I want is a home with people to love me and a nice, 6 foot high fenced backyard where I can sunbathe and romp around.     I am not a fan of cats, sorry....kitties and me just do not mix, so I can't be in a home with cats. But, I do love, love, love people (including kids), riding in the car and I walk very nicely on leash, especially if we can walk for a long time. I go walking after I eat in the am... which is usually 6- 6:30...and have 2 Poops...and only on my walks not in the yard.  I am a perfect age....past all the puppy nonsense, but I still have lots of years left to play with you, go on adventures and just love the heck out of you!    Please come and meet me and you will see how beautiful I am and how friendly I am and how perfect I am!  I’m waiting anxiously for you to come and fall in love with me!   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  6/1  Staff update: Cass enjoys car rides and sits in the passenger seat, directing while I am driving. Catniss loves to sunbathe outside and walks well on the leash. She does not react to bikers or vehicles, but is very observant to what is on the street. We met a neighbor on our walk this morning, and Cass gave kisses and wanted to get in their car and go for a ride. SHE IS MY LOVE:) JUDY            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.8-12-2024 Judy update:Raven has been waiting for a home since 2019!!!! I took her home this weekend and she followed me around the house. She went outside to potty, came back inside and cuddled on her floor bed. Raven has enjoyed laying on the living room waching TV. At night, I could not find her....she was sleeping in my bed on my pillows. This is the best dog:) I was in tears to see her personality change. Please open your heart and home to this sweetheart. I love this wonderful dog, and so will you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~From Raven: My name is Raven, and I was on my own in the woods for so long trying hard to survive. A nice lady rescued me and took me to Judy who made me healthy. That was way back in 2019. Yes, it is true!  I have been waiting since 2019 for a home. Wow!  Can you imagine how happy I would be if I knew the joy of a real home and jumping on the couch to cuddle with my human or just having a backyard of my own in which to play?   Because of my unfortunate background, I am naturally shy with new people, but I warm up and truly would love my own special someone on whom I could bestow my love and devotion. Even though I am a little bit older, there is a bunch of play in me, and I especially like a hard plastic ball.  When you throw balls for me, I may or may not bring it back….depends on my mood. LOL!    Because I am shy and uncertain, it would be lovely to have someone who is home most of the day.l. Honestly, I am just the sweetest girl ever and I know we would love each other so much. It is so hard to see other dogs keep getting picked and here I sit, still waiting after all this time for my very own home that is adult only and I am the one and only pet. More About Raven: The word “rescue” is meant for dogs like Raven who desperately needed to be rescued from her dangerous situation and now very much needs a family to rescue/bring her into their home. This incredibly sweet girl has so much love to offer. Just look into her eyes and you will see liquid love. Raven will need a patient, caring family to slowly bring out the best in her and let her blossom into her best doggie self.     She needs a home with a securely fenced backyard, as walks (at least for now) are pretty scary for her.  Who knows what she may have endured living in the woods? She enjoys playing in the yard with a ball, but then appreciates a nice cozy nap. When it is time to do her business, she needs the backyard in which to potty because she will not go on leash. This is not uncommon in the doggie world. Do you have a big heart for rescues? Then please consider Raven. She needs an adult only home that is calm and quiet with no other pets and with owners who are home pretty much all day every day to help build her self-confidence. This super gentle, super beautiful girl has so much love and joy to offer; it is buried inside just waiting to be brought out by that special loving adopter/foster who will be well rewarded with a devoted furry companion.   Please open your heart to Raven and fill out an application to come meet her!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm
