Story
Meet Guns! Guns was found with another dog (Dave) in a small town in Georgia. They seemed to be living on their own and had been for a while. They were hanging around a Dollar General and Guns had to be trapped before anyone could get him. Guns is a little reserved at first but will be your absolute best friend! Especially if his best Buddy Dave is there too!! These boys will be fine separated, but they thrive together and are a bonded pair. Please consider Dave also. These boys have been together for a while and thrive when they're together. Please contact Deep South Canine Rescue for further information on Guns or Guns and Dave!!
We'll also keep you updated on Dave's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Meet Dave!! Dave was found in a small town in Georgia (parking lot of a Dollar General) with his buddy guns. are a bonded pair they would be okay separated, but we would LOVE to keep them together. When the rescue was trying to catch them, Dave ran right to the rescuer. Guns however had to be trapped. Dave got back to the rescue and was warmed and fed and about an hour later, we received the call that Guns had finally gotten in the trap. So, we turned around and went back for Guns. When we got to him, he was pretty scared in the trap (especially without his best friend Dave) but once he got to the rescue and realized he was reunited with Dave, Guns lit up, danced and licked Dave's face like he hadn't seen him in years!! They are SO happy together. Please consider adopting both!! Please contact Deep South Canine Rescue for further information.

Story
Lita is a very special girl, she has a great capacity for love and affection, she is in need of a home that will be patient with her. We do not know what her past was like, she was found up by the Macon state prison with one of her puppies. Her puppy has found a new home. We have been working with her for about five months now, In that time she has learned to walk on a leash, like a good girl, learned to sit, and how to behave in her crate, and how to play fetch, she is great with other dogs, but does not like to share her toys, She has a lot of love to give for the right person. She is good with kids as long as they are older kids. She’s just a little too rambunctious for smaller children.. if you think you would be the right fit for this beautiful girl, please submit an application.

Story
Meet Grayson! Grayson was found with his Mother and siblings they were all very hungry and had no one to take care of them, A local lady had agreed to Foster, She had them for about four weeks when we went to give them the first set of shots and What we arrived to was pretty horrible, I’m not going to go into detail, but we have worked tirelessly to get these puppies to come around. We believe that Grayson would do best in a home that can give him the time and attention that he needs. He really needs Know that he has a safe space, Grayson is friendly with other dogs and cats, He likes kids, but it would be best to have bigger kids that understand that he will need some time to come around. He is leash trained, And goes into a kennel nicely we’re still working on coming out of the kennel. He knows the “wait” command very well, Grayson has had tons of applications, but all of them fall through when we explain how shy he is. Beautiful inside and out he just needs Some consistency to let the inside shine. If you think you can be that person for him, please submit an application.

Story
This handsome guy is King, a boxer/mastiff mix around 2 years old.  He and 7 other dogs (including Precious who is also up for adoption) were confiscated by animal control for cruelty and neglect.  They were all living on short chains with no access to water or shelter and they were only being fed sporadically.  We have "before" pictures of him -he was nothing but skin and bones, filthy dirty and full of hook worms and fleas.  Despite this, his tail never stopped wagging -he seems to be very grateful to have been saved.  After being treated for everything and being fed high quality food multiple times a day, King is now healthy and at a good weight and is down to just one meal a day.  King is really a nice dog but at this time, we are going to recommend he be an only dog.  Because he was bascially starved almost to death, he needs to be fed carefully and should be adopted by someone who can handle a strong dog.  He is very friendly but we do not know how he would react if he felt threatned by another dog, especially if there was food around.  For this reason, we are also not recommending him for a home with small children.  This could easily change over time where he wouldn't feel the need to resource guard but there is also the chance he might always feel the need to do this.  He suffered a trauma and is honesly, lucky to be alive.  We really believe he will thrive in the right home.  He is up to date with shots, neutered, negative for heartworms/on prevention, and crate trainefd.  If you would like to adopt Kind, please submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org Adoption fee is $85 and includes all veterinary care We prescreen all applicants prior to meeting.  To be screened, please submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org We do allow out of state adoptions.  However, we do not ship nor transport sight unseen pets for many reasons.  We require travel in person adoption. ##1259197##
