Story
Robin is a female, 6 month old Lab mix, who is a very sweet loving girl! Initially, she is very shy, especially when she is in her cage and the other dogs are barking. But once she is out on a walk away from the noise, Robin is easy on a leash and she transforms into the beautiful happy girl that she is! Robin is so sweet and gentle, and did very well recently with 2 little girls who wanted to dote on her and give her lots of pets. Robin loved their attention, and rolled over for belly rubs too! When she is out in the park area, Robin likes to run and play. She enjoys chasing balls, and one of her favorite “toys” seems to be pine cones. Hopefully she will soon learn the joys of a wide range of toys in her furever home, with people who will love her as much as she will love them! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. Story
Zion is a male, 1 year old Lab mix, who will make a wonderful companion dog! Zion is an easy-going boy who seems to just go with the flow and tolerate pretty much anything. Even with a barking over-protective mama dog next to his play pen, he didn’t react and simply walked away. Overall Zion has seemed good with other dogs that he has met through the fence, although a Meet n Greet is always suggested if other dogs live in the household. Zion has a moderate energy level, so he is happy to walk along at your pace. He also loves belly rubs, and will gladly roll over for one (or two)! So if you are looking for an all-around good boy and family dog, be sure to meet Zion and give him the furever home he SO deserves! Story
We put this sweet dog up for adoption with heavy hearts! She is 1 1/2 years old born 11/11/22. And we used to have a yellow lab who was so calm, so we got this beautiful chocolate lab as a 6 week old puppy, thinking she would be a good companion for my husband who is an 80 year old disabled veteran who can’t walk well plus we live in a RV and Frankie (named after his Mom) just has way too much energy and would be great for a hunter or young family or younger person. It is just not fair to her or us. She likes kids but does jump when excited and wants to play. Praying for a great home for her! Her Dad is a Chocolate lab and her Mom is a silver chocolate, making her a very beautiful color.

Story
I was checking our county animal control online for weeks for a smaller golden mix, and kept seeing this guy not being adopted. He had been there almost two months and I figured his time must be almost up. I went to see him and thought he was too energetic for our non-fenced yard, but I just couldn't leave this sweet guy there. He LOVES the dog park - friendly to both humans and dogs, but is reactive on a leash on walks at home for some reason. He can be face to face with a cat and show zero aggression, but wants to play, so the chase is on. If my cats would only stand up to him once, they would probably work it out. He would be great in a home with other dogs. I don't have young children, but I've never seen any aggressive behavior. I'm working on training him every day, but I really need a smaller, less muscular dog. One yr, 55 lbs, completely house-broken and is quiet whenever in his crate, even all night downstairs alone. Adoption fee includes his current bag of food and e-collar.

Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained,
Story
Jig is listed by Hearts 'n Homes Rescue as a courtesy to his owner. Meet Jig, a 5-year-old black lab. This large pooch is a bundle of fun and loves nothing more than running around and playing. He knows on command how to sit, lay, and shake. Although he can be a little rambunctious and wild at times, his affectionate nature and loyal personality more than make up for it.Jig is looking for a forever home where his special needs can be met and welcomed with patience and love. We recommend an active home with older children or no children and where he can be an only pet (no other dogs and no cats). His boundless energy means he's always up for a game of fetch or a long walk in the park, but he will need an attentive handler if other dogs are present since he can be protective of his family. He loves car rides! He has done well when left alone at home with access to the backyard via a doggie door. However, Jig will need a safe, secure backyard with a tall fence and should not be left outside without inside access. When his family is at home, he wants to be close. He is a “Velcro” dog. If put in a room or outside by himself, he will panic and respond by barking and scratching at the door. He likes to stay by a family member’s side or at least in the same room. Also, like many other dogs, he doesn't handle thunderstorms or fireworks very well, they make him very anxious and scared. If you're looking for a furry friend who will fill your life with joy and laughter, then Jig may be the perfect fit. He will need a family who is willing to work on his anxiety issues and spend the time needed with him to build his confidence.Adoption applications can be submitted on the website www.heartsnhomesrescue.org.
