Kenny arrived at our shelter as a stray about 10 months ago with limited background information.Kenny is a people-oriented pup, and he’s proven to be a wonderful companion when it comes to meeting new human friends. He’s always ready to shower those he meets with the most heartwarming kisses. However, when it comes to other dogs, he can be a bit reactive, so gradual introductions are essential. As for cats and small animals, we’re unsure of his compatibility, so a cautious approach is warranted.This youthful and energetic fellow is the perfect fit for an active owner or family. Whether it’s taking long walks or enjoying playful romps in a fenced yard, Kenny is up for any adventure. He’s a strong walker, and using a harness can make your outings even more enjoyable. He has a lot of energy, so lots of exercise is a must! We do suggest a home with older kids as he can get a little mouthy when he plays.Kenny’s zest for life and his affectionate spirit make him an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal and lively furry friend. *Sponsored*This handsome smoke show is Aero!Aero has been hanging out with us since last autumn and we aren't quite sure why! Aero is a super sweet boy with so much love to give. He is extremely affectionate and bonds closely with his humans. If you're in the market for a cuddle companion- he could be your dude!Not only is he very loving, he's also very smart! Aero knows most of his basic commands and is a smart cookie. He behaves well out in a fenced yard, does great on a tie-out, and walks well on a leash (but does walk better in a harness or harness lead!). Aero consistently keeps a clean kennel and we were told he did well in the house when he went on a home trial. Aero's only "quirk" is that he would need to go to a home as the only pet. He could potentially meet other dogs once he's settled and comfortable, but he has been very reactive here in the shelter environment. In his leisure time, Aero enjoys laying out in the sunshine or chasing a ball around. He has been on walks back at Oxbow Lake and has proven to be a water lover (like most Lab/mixes!)! So if you're ready for some fun in the sun, Aero is more than happy to be your adventure buddy! **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention. Everyone, meet Lonnie!Lonnie has become a very familiar face to FDHS and we aren't sure why this cutie patootie is still hanging out with us. Lonnie was surrendered to to us back in September of 2023 after he was abandoned while in the care of someone not in a position to keep him. He's a really good boy and from the sounds of it, he's been passed around a lot in his life.Although Lonnie isn't a pup, he has a ton of playful energy and has a very loving and vibrant personality! He's a big ol' goofball that's guaranteed to give his future family a ton of fun. Lonnie could use a little brushing up on his manners but he's a smart guy and very obedient if you're able to keep his attention and focus. Need a buddy to play fetch with? Lonnie's your dude! When it comes to other animals, a Meet & Greet is always ideal for any potential furry siblings! In the shelter, Jasmine can be selective with other dogs, especially other females. She doesn't seem to mind the boys as long as they're polite and respect her space! This pointy-eared girl is Miss Juniper. Juniper was found a few months ago as a stray outside of Ney. To everyone's surprise, she did not end up getting reclaimed by her previous folks and has been hanging out with us while we try to find her a forever family. Upon arrival, we learned that Juniper was heartworm positive and she immediately began treatment. She has been an absolute rock-star and completed treatment with ease. Juniper feels like a brand new pup and you could never tell that she had been sick. She has a very outgoing and energetic personality, true to her breed. We think she would do best in a home with no super small children as she can get a little mouthy when playing and she is an independent spirit that likes to do her own thing. Juniper is pretty strong on leash and due to her arrival as a stray, we would strongly suggest a fenced yard or someone willing to take daily walks with her. She has been a little reactive to some of the more "intense" shelter dogs so any canine introductions should be slow and controlled. If you're a Shepherd lover and are looking for an extra special girl to your family, consider adopting Juniper!**Spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Hello world! My name is Keanu Reeves (the dog version), but you can just call me Keanu! Although I'm not stealing the spotlight on the big screen, I am aiming to steal a spot on your couch!I was surrendered to the nice people at FDHS several months ago after my previous owner could no longer keep me. I wasn't in the best of condition when I arrived, I was pretty skinny and missing some hair. In the time that I've been here I look like a completely different dog! I'm a sturdy boy with a large head and a tail that NEVER stops wagging. I really am the happiest of boys.I've done pretty well in the shelter environment. I'm always eager to meet new human friends and I love to run around in the fenced yard out back. I can get a little sassy with some of the more "intense" dogs but I think with slow and proper introductions, I wouldn't mind having a canine sibling. I did very well when I was cat-tested and would likely be totally fine going to a home with them. The staff praises me for keeping a clean kennel (other than the occasional mud from my paws...I like to play!) and I do excellent with routine.Overall, I'm a big goofy guy that's just looking for my fur-ever love....could it be you?**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention.
