Story
Meet Oakley (#MASA23646), the Perfect Companion! Looking for a new furry friend? Look no further! Oakley is a calm-natured canine with a heart full of love. Whether he's leisurely strolling through the park or simply exploring the great outdoors, he enjoys his time outside and has a patient demeanor that shines through. One of Oakley's greatest qualities is his friendliness towards children. He adores their company and never misses a chance to play and interact with them. Plus, he's a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs! So, if you already have a furry companion at home, Oakley would be thrilled to have a playmate! Oakley's previous foster parent described him as incredibly sweet and lovable, and we couldn't agree more! His affectionate nature is bound to melt your heart and make every day brighter. He is estimated to be 1 year old, weighs 44 pounds, and is currently heartworm positive. If you'd like info on the steps to adopt Oakley, you can also click "Apply for Adoption" to send us an inquiry! _____________________________________________________________________________________ A staff member took Oakley #MASA23464 out for a morning stroll this week, and his gentle soul shone through! They said, "This sweet boy was waiting at the front of his kennel, his tail wagging as I greeted him. No jumping or barking, just pure calmness as I leashed him up. The outside world can be a little overwhelming for him with all the loud noises, but he showcased his soft and endearing side once he was in the yard. He stayed close, curiously sniffing around and graciously accepting pets and treats. Oakley reminds me so much of my girl, Bets, and I truly believe he has the potential to bloom in a nurturing environment. With a little time and patience, Oakley's true personality will come to light. If you're ready to bond with a precious, sweet, and slightly shy boy, Oakley's your guy. Trust me, you'll fall for him just like I did! If you're interested in adopting or fostering 44 lb. Oakley, meet him at the shelter anytime during our daily visiting hours of 1-6pm on weekdays and 12-4 pm on weekends.

Story
🎾 Meet Maze! 🎾 Maze is back at MAS, through no fault of his own, and is ready to find his perfect match! This handsome boy is bursting with love and energy and is ready to bring joy to your home: ✨ Energetic & Fun: Maze has lots of playful energy and loves a good game of fetch! He’s thrilled to chase a tennis ball and even brings it back for more fun. ✨ Smart & Trained: Maze knows how to sit, stay, and even go to bed on command—a superstar in the making! ✨ Affectionate Companion: He adores pets and scratches from his handlers and is always eager for some quality bonding time. ✨ Sensitive Tummy: Maze does best on Purina kibble, as Hill's Science Diet upsets his stomach. Maze’s previous foster described him as a very loving dog who will thrive with an active family that appreciates his zest for life and sweet personality. Ready to meet this fun-loving, ball-chasing sweetheart? Come visit him at MAS and see if Maze is the perfect fit for your family! 📩 Email MAS@memphistn.gov for more info or to set up a meet-and-greet. On 12/7/24 Maze met another dog. He was timid in his kennel and fled from me. I attempted to leash him and he was growling and snapping at the leash. I used calm repetitive persistence and was able to get him leashed. Once leashed, he readily came out of his kennel. Outside, he was friendly and social with a playful attitude. He was high energy and absolutely loved Pamila and they enjoyed lots of zoomies and play. Story
From foster mom: Most recent photos of Rome enjoying the snow. Weather doesn't bother him but he will definitely howl like hound when he ready to go in. He's very vocal and has conversations and arguments with me. Silly boy. Hates cameras. This is the best I could do.
