Story
Axel is 3yoa and has been with me since a puppy. He is full of energy and loves to run around outside and play. He loves tummy rubs, ear scratches and cuddles. He likes to be the only animal in the house. I hate to rehome him, but I’m moving to an apartment that doesn’t allow dogs. Patience is needed as Axel takes a second to adapt to new places and things, but he really connects and gets attached when he finally does adapt. I love this dog & know whoever ends up with him will too!

Story
Manny is an estimated 8-10 year old Frenchton that weighs about 25lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Manny is great dog! If you are looking for a shadow, he is your guy! He loves to snuggle on the couch and relax – he is not a dog bed kind of dog.  His age does not slow him down! He still has a manageable amount of energy and gets around great! Takes little effort for him to jump on the couch or beds! He LOVES to go on walks and be outside. He would best in a house with a yard so he can chase squirrels and birds, although he is probably not quick enough to catch any He does pull slightly on a leash, especially when he sees other dogs or a critter, so paying attention while on walks is a must. He loves his harness, and that has helped while on walks to settle him down (he gets so excited seeing other dogs). Due to some previous trauma, he does NOT like crated or being picked up. He will give a growl warning, but it has only been when someone has tried to pick him up. But that does not stop him from cuddling with you. He has been great around other dogs for the most part, but it is case by case so recommending a home with no other dogs or children. He has no issues putting on the harness every day – he knows it means he is going outside. Also, because of his past trauma, Manny associates commands like "no" or "stop" with physical harm, so it is best to correct any behaviors with redirection instead.  Due to some separation anxiety, Manny does mark from time to time, so a belly band might be your friend for him. He would do best in a home where he can go with you everywhere or you are home often. He loves car rides, but definitely either restrain him or have the windows on child lock. He loves to move and look out the window! Manny would make a great companion for someone who works from home and/or is home often. He is so great and loving and has lots of love to give! If you would like to give Manny his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $250. He is being fostered in Nashville, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Duke is a 4 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 25lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. ONLY FEMALE APPLICANTS WITH NO OTHER PETS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR DUKE. SEE BELOW.Duke came into rescue from an abandonment and abusive situation. Because of that, he has triggers, so it is essential we find him the right home where he can thrive. He can become triggered when someone messes with his neck, like to put on a leash or harness. His foster mom has made lots of progress with him, teaching him that leashes/harnesses are associated with positive things like walks and treats, but his adopter will have to understand that it may take lots of patience and understanding to gain Duke's trust. A fenced in yard would be great for Duke, so he doesn't have to be leashed daily. Because Duke is slow to trust, vet visiits are not one of his favorites. Duke seems to favor women over men, so he is looking for a home where he can be the "only man in the house". Because Duke was abandoned and likely didnt have access to food for a prolonged period of time, he can be aggressive when it comes to food. Because of this, Duke needs to be the only pet in the home and in a home without children. Duke is such a handsome boy, and once he warms up to you, he is a such a fun dog with the perfect amount of energy. He can be playful and silly, but also enjoys downtime and long naps. He loves to snuggle under the covers, play with his toys(especially his dinosaur), car rides, and going for walks. He loves to be with people. He is crate trained. Duke continues to make progress everyday, and we want an adopter for him that is willing to commit to him, be mindful and underdstanding of things that trigger him, and give him the good life he deserves!  If you would like to give Duke his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $350. He is being fostered in Memphis, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Tank is a 4 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 26lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. "Hi everyone! Myname is Tank, also known as tank tank. I’m at my foster parents house and having so much fun!! They may have spoiled me a little. I was dropped off at an animal shelter by my previous owner due to having a rectal prolapse that they couldn't afford to fix. SCBTR stepped in to make sure I got the care I neeeded. After a few weeks of vet care and a few surgeries, I went to my foster home. They found that I needed to be on a special food(Hill's prescription diet food sensitivities, which costs $50 per 8lb bag) because I have a sensitive stomach. I’m no longer straining to go potty and as long as I have my new food, there shouldn’t be anymore issues. My foster mama said I have to be on this food and certain treats for the rest of my life, only because everything else makes my tummy not feel good. My foster mom and dad said whoever gets me is so very lucky cause I’m a good baby!! I listen and always let them know when I have to potty. I’m crate trained but.. they let me sleep in the bed with them. I sleep at the foot of the bed, but sometimes I sneak in cuddle time and lay beside her under the covers till I’m ready to go back to my spot on the bed. I lovvvvveeeee to go anywhere!! Riding is fun for me-I look out the windows and sometimes fall asleep in the back seat but I enjoy it so much!! My foster family has been so good to me, but it’s time for me to have my forever home because I have so much love to give! Just know whoever gets me is lucky cause I love to be loved on and cuddled with. I love to play ball outside and I’m a fast runner! I even out run those little people that come to stay the night on the weekends that my foster parents call grandkids. I get along with cats-sometimes I scare them cause I’m a big boy and they don’t know I’m just wanting to play but I only wanna be their friends. I get along with other dogs too, and I love to play chase! That’s about it for me oh yeah.. before I forget the vet scares me some now cause I had to have the prolapse surgery and then a repair surgery and as soon as I get there I wanna leave and if they give me a shot I scream like a kid cause I have been poked so many times... it just scares me. If you’re looking for a best friend and a cuddle buddy and somebody that will keep you laughing and entertained, I’m your guy!! If you would like to give Tank his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $350. He is being fostered in Austin, KY.
