Story
Moona was born on March 20, 2022, making her just shy of 3 years old now. She was surrendered to a shelter by her first owners at 9 months old in January of 2023. After only a few days in the shelter, Moona was adopted by her second family who kept her until April of 2024 when I started fostering her. Moona was kept outside in a back yard 24 hours a day and I speculate that she was not being fed regularly and that she was in some form physically abused as well. Even with the life she has had, Moona is sweet and loving. She is curious and intelligent, but also incredibly derpy. Moona is goofy, rambunctious, quirky, excitable and overall, a very good dog. If Moona feels she is in trouble she typically cowers and then will avoid you by running away. She has so much potential. Moona needs someone that will love her and be patient with her trauma progress. I would love to see her adopted by someone who has land for her to run on/explore or someone that regularly takes her for runs/walks.

Story
Mac is our family, he is an amazing dog with a lot of love. He is house trained and completely kind around our young boys. The problem he has is when it comes to small animals or toddlers that try and move towards his food. He is very protective of the house and sounds like a mean bark when people come to the door.

Story
Miley is about 7 years old and would do best in a house with older kids or without kids. She likes to run around and play outside. She is very fast but also doesn’t always understand how big she is and is kind of ditzy. She is very sweet and loving. She does best with people who have a calm demeanor. She does well with other dogs but hasn’t ever been around other cats. She needs to find a new home because she is having trouble getting along with her newest 2 legged family member.

Story
Delilah is almost 2 yrs old, she loves kids and other dogs and cats. She’s a typical Great Dane thinking she is a lap dog! I found her on the streets when she was a puppy about 6 months old and have had her ever since. My son has developed some health issues and has severe allergies towards her and I’ve tried everything to make it better and it’s just not helping. This girl needs a loving home preferably with someone who can handle her size. I’ve tried working with her jumping on ppl but when she gets excited she still jumps every once in a while.

Story
Meet Kaylie, a sweet 7 month old, 4 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Azle, TX. Kaylie has a Liver Shunt condition which will require surgery. Only Texas applicants will be considered. She came to us from a sister rescue in Ohio with a tentative diagnosis of liver shunt. Our fellow rescue in Ohio got this little girl into the vet and started her on medications that would ease her symptoms. Prior to medication she had started spinning and head pressing and had very little energy for a puppy. UYR's wonderful volunteer flight angel flew overnight to get get this baby from North Carolina to DFW Airport. Foster mom picked up Kaley from DFW and had her into the vet within a couple of days. Our local vet ran more blood work on Kaley and we have more questions. Kaley will be going in for imaging on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Those of you that have followed UYR and our liver shunt babies know this is all very costly. Imaging, surgery, medications can be in excess of $10,000. This little girl is doing better since she started medication but she is not out of the woods yet until we have more answers. Once Kaley has surgery and is on the road to recovery, she will be available for adoption. Kaley is a puppy and needs a home that knows how to work with a puppy that has an enormous amount of energy. Small children will not be appropriate for Kaley. She needs a family that has the resources to have her monitored and cared for by their veterinarian. Kaley is a fearless little girl who wants to cuddle at times. If you think you can give her the perfect home, please put in an application at www.uyr.us.
