Meet Zelda, a spirited one-year-old German Shepherd from Roanoke, VA, whose energy and devotion are as boundless as the open sky on a crisp autumn day! Zelda’s playful nature is matched only by her incredible loyalty, making her the ideal companion for an active family ready to share adventures and endless moments of joy. Zelda’s favorite pastimes include playing fetch, chasing after heavy-duty balls, and delighting in the squeak of her favorite toys! She lives for those long walks! While Zelda hasn’t received formal obedience training yet, she’s already picked up a few commands like sit, paw, and down - showing her potential to learn even more with the right guidance. House and crate trained. Has lived with other large dogs and young children. High prey drive around cats and rabbits. May do best as the only dog in the home as she likes to play rough and has a lot of energy! Will come with collar, prong collar, leash, crate, some toys, bowl, and a container of her dog food.

Story

We got Jasper when he was 6 weeks old from Roanoke Spca. He has always been an inside dog but loves to play outside. Hes very sweet. He is good with older kids. He sounds ferocious but is a big teddy bear! Hes very afraid of thunder. He is crate trained. He is pad trained. He knows sit, paw, high five and lay down (sometimes). We love him very much. I recently had a knee injury and can no longer take him for walks. He needs someone who is able to take him for walks and out for runs. Oh, he also loves going for car rides! Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a yard he can play in.

Wyatt is 1 yr old Husky/Australian Shepherd mix with strong breed characteristics. He is super friendly but is 60lbs and likes to use his mouth and paws to get attention. He would love a playmate around his size. Currently lives with a cat and 12lb dog who do not appreciate his attention or play style. He is smart, sweet, highly food motivated and occasionally stubborn. He loves to play disc and ball. Fully crate trained, basic obedience training and has been introduced to agility. He would be best with a good sized yard or someone with an active lifestyle. He has never shown any interest in escaping but does like to occasionally dig. I am not able to provide the active home he needs. He is a young herding dog and does small nips for affection and attention so I do not recommend a home with children. I travel frequently between SW VA and Southern Ohio and willing to transport him for the right home.

I came across a homeless man the other day living in his truck and out of a storage unit. He lost his home in Helene. He had 6 dogs living in his truck, 1 was the Mom. He refused to work with the shelter and I convinced him to give me 2 of them so I could find them good homes. They are very sweet babies and will be small dogs. I have only had them 2 days. They have not yet had shots or been de-wormed. The man said they were born in September, right before Helene. The black and white one found a home. The black and brown shown still needs a home.
