Story
Princess Leia is an adorable 8 mo. old who was rescued as a single kitten. She was found walking across a busy street by herself when she was not even 1 lb. Leia is a sweet girl who is not a big talker at all. She is chill and wants to just lay on your lap. I'm sure she could be the only princess in the house and be just fine as long as she is getting attention from her new owner. She is microchipped, spayed and up to date on vaccines. Story
Diablo is one of our rescues many success stories. He was not in good shape when he was brought in. He overcame so many obstacles that he would not have been able to do on his own. Diablo is a mischievous little boy. He is shy and likes to hide. Once you have him, he holds onto your neck and lets you love on him. Diablo would do best with children over 10, He does not like dogs, and he needs to feel safe in his environment. He will make the perfect lap cat for the right family. He loves to play with his foster siblings and to be loved on by the adult males in the house. He is the cutest little guy and deserves the best home. He will def. require a lot of calm home environment and time to come out of his shell. Some mornings I wake up with him laying on top of my head, but then I wake up and he runs off. A home with less cats and noise would be best for Diablo. Diablo is microchipped, neutered and up to date on vaccines. Please fill out an application at: https://form.jotform.com/242315034653146

Story
Meet Sokka, a 6-year-old domestic long-haired cat with a heart full of love and a soft, fluffy coat to match. Weighing in at 12 lbs, Sokkaâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s journey started as a sick and hungry kitten found as a stray, but thanks to a lot of care and love, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s grown into the affectionate, playful cat he is today. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s fully up-to-date on all vaccines, neutered, and microchipped â&#194&#128&#194&#147 and ready to find his forever home. Sokka is a social butterfly who gets along well with other cats and children. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s never met a stranger and loves rubbing against people for attention and pets. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s playful, often getting the zoomies, and loves to scratch, so plenty of scratching posts and boards are a must in his new home. While he sleeps a lot, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s always up for a game and enjoys being the center of attention. Sokka has a unique love for drinking water straight from a dripping faucet and is completely litter box trained. However, he would do best in a home without dogs, as heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s no longer getting along with the one in his current home. He deserves a stress-free environment where he can thrive, play, and be showered with the love heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s always deserved. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a sweet, snuggly, and social companion, Sokka is your guy â&#194&#128&#194&#147 heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll bring nothing but love and joy into your home. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Sokka, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Hello, I am Sven! I have lived at Dog & Kitty City since June 25, 2018, when I was surrendered to the shelter by my owner because I tested positive for feline leukemia, and she had other cats in the home. I have always been shy with people, but I get along just fine with the other cats in the leukemia room. To be perfectly honest, I really prefer to stay outside on the catio, away from people altogether. I hiss and bare my teeth, umm fangs, when they approach me to scare them away. When it is time for canned food, I pop right through the cat door and come inside to chow down. I love the buffet the humans put out for us leukemia cats! Story
Our email communications often end up in applicants' spam folders. If you apply for a cat or kitten with RHS and don't hear from us, please check your spam folder.  Beaux is proof that big things come in small packages! This tiny boy was found outside with his litter mates at just 2 days old with their umbilical cords still attached and no mom to be found. Thanks to a lot of round the clock love and care from his first fosters, Beaux and his brothers were bottle fed and grew from teeny tiny boys into playful and cuddly kittens. Beaux is the smallest of the three but he isn't lacking in personality or playfulness in the least. As soon as he sees human friends, he turns into a total purr machine, and it's impossible to resist petting and brushing his huge ear tufts. Beaux will be happiest in a home with another cat to be his buddy, and we'd love to place him with one of his brothers, or another adoptable kitten in our program if you don't already have a feline friend in your home.   Beaux is still undergoing his vetting but he is eligible for our foster to adopt program! Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.    RHS Adoption Process and Requirements Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/heartworm preventative. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit by an RHS representative. Phone Interview. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. Home Visit.  If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will coordinate a virtual home visit. We’ll request you send videos/pictures of your home to verify it is safe and welcoming for the cat. Meet and Greet. Once your home visit is complete, we can coordinate a time with you and the foster parent/s to meet the kitty you’re interested in.  Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $135 for cats, and payable by Paypal, Venmo, cash, or check. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2261335##

Story
Boots was originally adopted in 2012 as a kitten, along with his sister Gracie. He has had a wonderful life with his humans until one day mom human passed away. This was very sad for Boots but he had his Dad human.... until this year when Dad had to go to a care facility and there was no way to take Boots or Gracie. We took both Boots and Gracie and have tried to give them the love and care they deserve at our foster facility. It is not ideal as they really would prefer the constant company of humans. They can be separated. They do not appear to be bonded. Boots is confused and sad but is making progress in being more comfortable with new human friends. We understand that not everyone can manage the care of a senior when it could involve medical issues and vet bills. He has had a senior physical and is in excellent health. We are willing to sponsor their medical/vet costs. If you would like to meet Boots, please email us at info@feralfriends.org. We are looking for either a foster home or a forever home. If you would like to adopt, please submit an adoption application through our website: www.feralfriends.org

Story
Antonio is an adorable DLH black male born approximately 4/19/2024. He has the prettiest light green eyes! Meet Antonio (aka Tony) Tony is a delightful little Italian kitten with a heart full of love and a flair for poetry. This sweet and calm furball might prefer lounging in your lap and purring contentedly over playing rough with the crew, but don't let his relaxed demeanor fool you—he’s got a playful side too! He loves chasing balls, but his true joy comes from being adored by his people. With his soft, shiny, long fur and striking good looks, Tony certainly knows how to turn heads. He's always happy to pose and let you admire his beauty—and don't forget to feel how incredibly soft he is! When he's not basking in affection, Tony spends his spare time writing poetry, pondering the finer things in life, and waiting for the purr-fect person to share his warmth and creativity with. Tony is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.November 12, 2024, 2:42 pm

Story
XXena is looking for a loving foster home to help her recover while she is receiving medical treatment. Foster Reason: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) & Potential Ringworm Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks (The foster time frame could be longer depending on future medical results and needs.) Foster Care Plan: Xena is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. Since she may be contagious to other pets, we strongly recommend keeping her in a separate, dedicated space, such as a spare bathroom or bedroom, until she fully recovers.Xena has also been seen for a patch of hair loss on her nose. A sample has been sent to the lab, and we are waiting on the results to determine if she will need to begin treatment for ringworm. She will go to her foster home with medication, and once her treatment is complete, she’ll be ready for surgery/adoption. Foster to Adopt: Xena is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

Story
Winston is a pure breed Main coon cat. Very smart and loving. He likes to play fetch, go for a walks, chase his mouse toy, and watching squirrels from the window. He is 1y 10m old. He is 25 pounds, and still growing. 3 1/2’ long, so he is a big cat and he needs space. We got him from the breeder as a kitten, and we used to live in the big house. Due to circumstances we moved to the apartment, and my daughter got asthmatic symptoms. Unfortunately we have to find a new loving home for Winston. Every morning he comes to me and lays on my chest, purring and cuddling. The best match for Winston would be a family with the house, grown kids. I don’t know how he will get together with other pets, no experience, but he is generally very friendly cat.
