Story
Meet Fitz, a charming 10-year-old domestic medium hair black cat with a heart full of love. Fitz is a big lap cat who adores snuggling and will make the perfect companion for anyone looking for a furry friend to cuddle with. Fitz has always lived with another cat and should do well with a single feline companion, though he’s also perfectly happy being the only cat in the household. While he hasn't been around dogs, he is great with older children (8+) and will thrive in a home where he can relax and enjoy peaceful interactions. If you're searching for a big, snuggly baby to bring joy and warmth to your home, Fitz is the perfect match for you. Adopt Fitz and experience the love and companionship of this sweet and affectionate cat.

Story
Bagheera is a sweet, friendly, and independent senior cat. I have had him for 16 years since he was a kitten. Due to a serious family emergency I have had to relocate and can no longer keep him. He loves going outside in the mornings, playing with bell/feather toys, and making little “nests” out of blankets and crinkly paper. He likes getting scratched and brushed and he gets along well with other people and animals.

Story
We found this Kitty in a carrier on the sidewalk outside our high-rise condo complex. We believe he had been abandoned from a homeless camp that had recently been dismantled nearby. He is approximately 2yrs old and is very social, sweet and cat box trained. We took him to the vet. No chip. We dropped $1000 getting all shots, dewormed, and neutered. But he tested FeLV+, so needs someone who is looking for a young, sweet cat and who also understands that kitty's lifespan will be shorter, likely between 2.5 and 8 years, depending on how the virus is advancing in his body. We have reached out to many sanctuaries and rescue organizations. Most will not take an FELV+ kitty and will kill the cat immediately, even though FELV is no longer the death sentence it used to be considered to be. We are unable to keep him. So it has proven to be quite a dilemma because this sweet little boy has several years of healthy life in him and there is no need to kill him.

Story
We bought Kuro from Petsmart 6 years ago. We estimate he is around 8 years old and in good health. He has travelled across the country with us. We are expecting a baby soon and need to rehome him. Kuro is very loving and adores ear scratches. He sleeps a lot and will sleep on your lap. He loves to play with cat toys. He also loves to explore outside. When we initially adopted him, he was strictly indoor. However, he has become used to going outside since we got a fenced house. Kuro is friends with our rabbit. However, he gets very anxious with new people, pets, and car rides. When our parents bring a dog over, or another cat is outside, he gets very upset. He may adjust to other pets, but weve only tried him with a rabbit. He does meow when he is hungry or wants to come inside. He has never hurt anyone, but may scratch if pet wrong.

Story
Hi, I'm the petite gentleman Skye! I have the cutest little ears. I'm a ball of fluffy love.I'm an especially sweet guy with some special needs. I have seizures sometimes which are quite scary for me and anyone watching. When I have a seizure I might fall off my cat tree and (rarely) I lose control of my bladder. I'm on medication for the seizures which is working well. My seizures are more under control that when I first came here and I have them about once a month now. The seizures last about 30 seconds to a minute and there isn't much to be done except make sure I don't fall off something. I also have a history of having urinary crystals so I need to stay on a prescription urinary food for life. That prevents the crystals from forming. I also have a sensitive stomach so there is one type of food that helps both the crystals and my tummy issues.I like to greet people and will give a little head boop to your leg when I am looking for attention. I'm quite mellow as my medication makes me a little sedate to prevent seizures. However, I've recently taught myself how to use a cat wheel (see video below)! The people here were amazed that the most mellow cat in the shelter figured out how to use it.Likes: I love to be social with people. I also love to play! I'm a mellow boy who just loves love.Dislikes: I might be able to hang out with with other cats but I have tried to bully one cat in the shelter before and I've been bullied by some others. A very mellow small dog might be ok but in general I don't like dogs.Looking For: An adopter who is willing to work with my seizures and other special needs. My estimated birthdate is 4/21/2021.

Story
Hi, I'm the regal and dignified Leonard! I'm a fluffy friendly muffin maker. I love to play when I'm in the mood! I was previously hit by a car some years ago but I'm fully recovered. I have seasonal and food allergies so I need to eat a prescription food. I might be ok with another cat but I am on a strict diet of a prescription food.I'm very chill and I even tolerate belly rubs! I love to jump up high and look out windows. I'm in a foster home so if you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application at www.animalaidpdx.org.My estimated birthdate is 2/7/2020.

Story
I have had Gracie since she was 12 weeks old. I adopted her from a friend whose mama cat had four babies. Gracie is three years old. She is an indoor-only cat. Gracie is a quiet kitty. She doesn't talk much and her purr is very soft and not often. She is pretty independent. But often in the evening when I am in my recliner reading or watching TV, she will jump up and want to doze between my legs. She likes to be petted, but not picked up and held. She is healthy and has seen the Vet recently when we went to discuss her recent attitude about being territorial. She has laid claim to the bedroom and doesn't like me to come in (she often naps on top of the dresser where she can also see outside). The Vet feels strongly that Gracie really needs to be either an indoor/outdoor kitty or an outdoor kitty (barn cat, maybe?). The Vet says some cats just feel boxed in and since our living space if fairly small, she thinks Gracie just needs some room to roam, which is not an option for me.
