Story
Adeline is such a beautiful black kitty! This older girl is looking for a quiet, relaxing home for the next chapter of her life. Adeline will love a family that gives her as many pets and cuddles and head scratchies as her little feline heart desires! Due to some discomfort with other animals in her previous home, HSBV will only rehome Adeline to a family without dogs or other cats. Additionally, we will only rehome her to a family without children or with children over the age of 10.

UPDATE 2-14-25: See Tuna lounging adorably in front of the fireplace with his toy: https://www.summitdogrescue.org/meet-tuna.html - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meet Tuna! We are going to let Tuna tell you about himself... he is a special guy looking for a very special human and a quiet home. "Hi, they are calling me Tuna. I am still not sure if this is the right name for me, but for now, it suffices. "I had a rough start in my life. I was left in an an abandoned trailer in a trailer park in Nebraska when my old owner died suddenly. He had no relatives or friends to take care of us. "I'm what my foster mom calls a 'true rescue'. The trailer was cold and drafty, and filled with garbage... nice people came to feed us when they heard about our predicament. They caught me and neutered me... and then brought me into their home. "I ended up coming down to Boulder, which was terrifying. When I got there, I decided I better hide and not show myself at all. I felt like the house was filled with monsters. It took me about 6 weeks to start to feel safer, and I realized that the person there only came near me when she was putting out the yummiest food I had ever smelled or eaten. I love food... it makes me feel happy and safe. I waited another month, eating the food but hiding any time the person came into my room. But I started to get lonely. Hiding was lonely... so I started meowing, to let her know I was ready to join the rest of the household. "So now, i am fully integrated into the house. I enjoy the other 2 cats and the big, barky dog. I lie around on the couch, and tell the person, 'Hey lady, turn on the gas fireplace.' If people come near me I run and hide under the couch, but when everyone is chill I come out and play... I eat and run around like a kitten. I am feeling very settled in. "It has been 3 months, and sometimes when the human is on the floor petting her dog, I get brave and come over for some petting. This took a long time for me to feel good about. She rubs my ears, and pets my cheeks. I just love it. "Every day I get braver... she said I can stay here as long as I want, which is a super nice offer. But eventually I would like my own person who is really mine. I am sure after a period of adjustment, I would even be a kitty who sleeps on your bed with you. "My house has to be a quiet home, and I would do better in a home with other animals. No kids - period, no negotiations on that. "And if you have a gas fireplace or a nice heater, I'd love that. I really enjoy cozy warm heat!" For more info and/or to apply to adopt Tuna, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
These guys are a bonded pair so they will need to go together. Clara and Jolene are sisters. A year old. My roommate recently had to switch jobs and he just doesn't have the time for them anymore and it's not fair to these guys as they love to be loved on and I am allergic to cats so I unfortunately cannot keep them. Clara is more of an independent kitty whereas her sister, Jolene is more of the cuddle bug. They are up to date with shots and they are both Spayed. Need a loving home with all the window space as they love to sun bathe.
