I bought Maggie a year and a half ago. I trained her daily and she only struggled with barking when passing another dog. I took her to Petcos puppy class and realized she was barking because she was afraid. In September, I was diagnosed with MDS, a serious blood cancer. I was hospitalized, had a bone marrow transplant, and am slowly recovering. Of course, I had to have my sister take Maggie for a while, then my niece, and back to me, but I was too weak to get her the exercise she needed. I still can barely walk a mile with her. I do take her to a dog park almost daily and she’s good with my cocker spaniel puppies. While I was going through treatment my son and his two dogs moved into my house, for about two months, and when Maggie finally came home, she and my son's dog got in a bad fight, and my confused puppy hurt my sons dog. Now he insists I rehome her. It’s killing me, but I need his help with my disease. If you’re interested in giving her the home she deserves, please respond.

I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends.
