Story
Meet Bunny! This adorable little lady is about 1.5-2 years old and looks like a bully-breed type mix. Muscular and compact, she tips the scales at 34lbs. Maybe we're biased, but we think she's the perfect size pup!An absolute delight of a dog, Bunny's a true testament on how resilient animals are. Prior to being rescued, her previous guardian not only attempted (and failed) to cut off her ears but also neglected her physically and emotionally. Upon entering foster, she knew nothing and was scared of virtually everything. With time, patience, and lots of treats she's grown leaps and bounds and is ready for her next chapter. In her foster home Bunny is crate trained, house trained, and knows how to walk on leash. She's been living with five other dogs who she enjoys the company of, along with four cats who she's convinced cannot be trusted. She'd be happy with a dog sibling or two but isn't a good candidate for feline friendly homes. Initially nervous with new people, she is best suited for homes with teenagers and older. In her spare time she can usually be found tossing toys to herself, chewing on Benebones, patrolling the yard for squirrels, or cuddling with one of her foster moms. Bunny would love a home with a fenced in yard in a quieter setting; she is not a good candidate for city life. Her fosters share: "Bunny is the funniest, cutest, most entertaining dog. She loves toys, running around looking for squirrels in the yard, and most of all, food. But she didn't start out that way. Bunny came to us in tough shape emotionally and took time to trust us and adapt to indoor life. Thankfully, she's one of the most food motivated dogs we've fostered and because of that is a quick study. It didn't take long for her to fall into our routine and begin coming to us for affection. She is definitely still a timid dog and takes time to warm up to strangers, but once comfortable really blossoms into a stellar little pup. We'd love to see her in a home with people who appreciate quirky dogs, a canine sibling, and a fenced yard. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt Bunny will be bringing home a ray of sunshine!"She is available for adoption in Hopkinton by appointment with an approved adopter. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Priscilla5 Months OldSpayed FemaleMeet Priscilla! This young lady can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but blossoms into a social butterfly after getting to know you. She could benefit from having a quieter-traffic home and a family that can work at her pace as she first settles in. As Priscilla gets more confident, she’ll be sure to show you all her favorite toys! Priscilla could do well with a confident, tolerant dog friend who can help show her the ropes, a dog-savvy cat with a slow introduction, and children! If you think you are a good fit and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

**MEET ME AT OUR 8/18 ADOPTION EVENT IN QUINCY**Adoptable in: MAGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog-savvy childrenCrate trained: Working on itHouse Trained: MostlyA happy-go-lucky, scruffy boy, Wilbur loves to give kisses, receive belly rubs, and just generally chill out with his bully stick. He is an accomplished cuddle buddy but also an avid outdoorsman. Most any home should work for Wilbur. Dog friendly, he loves playing with other dogs; however, he does need to be watched as he can be a little mouthy. While he is learning not to do this while playing, he should also be limited to older, dog-savvy children. He has no reaction to cats.Crate training is still a work in progress for Wilbur. The door closing give him some anxiety, and his crate time is usually limited to a few hours during the day. He does not sleep there at night. His house training is almost all the way to the finish line, but he is still learning to alert.Wilbur needs a home where he can receive eye drops twice a day for a medical condition (diabetes insipidus). He is well-behaved for his eye drops. He also should be viewed as a flight risk as he is capable of climbing a chain link fence and leaping over a babygate. In search of a companion who will make you laugh all day long? Look no further than Wilbur! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.August 19, 2024, 2:09 am

Story
Hello everyone, my name is Valen. My name means "Strong, Healthy." My life has had a bit of a struggle since I was found dumped at a local lake. At ten weeks old, I was dumped in some underbrush. My muzzle was bleeding and oozing. It was so painful. I was dumped because I had a rare Autoimmune disease called "Puppy Strangles," and I was skinny, wormy, and full of fleas and ticks. No one knows where I came from. What my parents looked like. All we know is what my foster mom has learned. She always tells me how awesome of a fellow I am; she would keep me if she didn't have so many in her pack. My foster mom has had two other puppies with Puppy Strangles, and she made them healthy, too. I am almost ready to leave my foster home for my furever home. She has taught me to sit, house trained, leash trained, and dog/ cat social etiquette. I love people and children. I am unique, intelligent, and loads of fun. I am ready to head to you, my furever home. Please request a application (alittlelonger2home@gmail.com) and submit a deposit $200 (refundable). To submit your deposit, visit Venmo @Carla-carlton-1, Cashapp $carlrescue, Zelle 501-247-4186, and PayPal glennandcarla@g5i.net. This will begin my journey home to you. VALEN male neutered Breed Jack Russell mix Age 24 weeks (As of 08/18/2024) Weight 23lbs Great with people, children, dogs/ puppies, cats/ kittens Adoption donations $ 525

Story
Adoption Donation   $ 299 Located:  RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: approx.  11 years old  Weight:  21  lbs BB Jones loves people, and she can be a bit bossy with other dogs, so a home where she is the queen would be best!  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  judy@atouchofhealthri.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur.
