Story
Max is my special boy who is the sweetest, funniest, and most scheduled dog I’ve ever met. I rescued him from Louisiana when he was just six months old and have sincerely loved him with my whole heart ever since. Life has changed, and there is now a sweet little human baby in my life. Max is absolutely fantastic with adults and even my 13-year-old rescue senior dog. We are not exactly sure why, but he doesn’t do well with children or most dogs. We are hoping to find a loving home with a big yard he can run around in for him. I he recognizes and understands words and loves to be trained. His favorite activity is fetch and would play for hours at the dog park if allowed. He is an absolute snuggle bug and could spend the whole day on the couch with you watching movies. He loves walks and getting little treats throughout the day. I promise, he will melt any bad day away when you come home to his face.

Story
Age:   approx 2 years old   Weight: 28  lbs My adoption fee is $475   which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Dukesy is an indoor boy that was being left outdoors by his last owner, so up and over the fence he would go to find his own friends. Unfortunately his current owners weren't home enough to keep him and opted to surrender him. In foster we have learned that Dukesy is crate trained and housetrained. He is off with any dog he plays with. He runs up with a stout meet and play and off they go ! We have also learned that he LOVES bunnies. Typical of his breed mix of Jack Russell/Beagle. He LOVES traveling, LOVES people and LOVES living life ! He is a best friend and confidant. He's a right hand buddy for sure. This one eyed bandit is ready for his forever home. (We do not know how he lost his eye but it was surgically removed).   If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/February 8, 2025, 4:13 pm

Story
JoJo & Dana: A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home! JoJo, a 9-year-old neutered male Greyhound-Jack Russell mix, and Dana, a 6-year-old female Chihuahua-Jack Russell mix, are two lovable best friends who need to find a home together. JoJo is a sweet, happy boy who loves attention and gets along well with kids and other dogs. His gentle nature makes him a joy to be around. Dana, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved but warms up once she feels safe and loved. Together, they balance each other perfectly and are inseparable companions. This pair would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where they can play and relax together. If you’re ready to welcome double the love and double the joy into your life, JoJo and Dana can’t wait to meet you! **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic. Story
Meet Lalin! (Pronounced La-Lean) As a curious but cautious soul, Lalin takes a minute to warm up. Once he's comfortable Lalin is a super affectionate boy who comes looking for attention and gives kisses. Lalin has some awesome leash walking skill, but he will need some practice with some of his basic commands like sitting. But he loves treats and is ready to keep learning and practicing! Lalin would be a great addition to any home. If you are interested in applying for Lalin, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 2 years (as of 2/4/25) Weight: 27 pounds (as of 2/4/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Duke! This little guy is playful, adventurous, athletic and super sweet. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, he might just be your family’s perfect match! Duke is a charming gentleman. He’s wonderful with other dogs and children, is house trained and does well in the car. His foster shares that he loves spending time at a local elementary school and cuddling with all the kids! He likes to “hunt” for rabbits, so a home with small animals might not be ideal. The right home for Duke will be somewhat active and willing to work on skills like basic commands and leash training. Duke might have one eye, but he’ll “only have eyes” for you! He’s looking for a best friend and companion with whom to share life’s many adventures. We strongly encourage basic obedience training for all our dogs, as it not only helps your dog blossom into a well-balanced canine citizen with good manners, but it also helps to form a lasting bond between your dog and the humans in your family. Will you open your home and heart to Duke? Fill out an application today! Medical Note: Duke is missing an eye from a previous injury/surgery (details unknown). No ongoing issues expected at this time. Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease.  Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future.  Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete.  Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home.  This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment, and is expected to complete treatment with no complications.  Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2025, 5:27 pm
